I agree, Curlsmith and tgin were best, Curlsmith was still better though. The Shea moisture really wasn’t great, but I think that line doesn’t really target definition, it’s for people who get plenty of definition whether they like it or not, so it’s more to target volume! I liked you putting the results at the beginning without telling us what was what!
I'd agree.. I really did love the Curlsmith results. I'm currently debating with myself whether or not I should rebuy it. And I'd agree on the Shea Moisture one. It's not meant for my hair type. I had hoped, since it was the most available, it would work ok, but not for me, and that's also ok. I tried to get that across in my video, but maybe it didn't come out that way. Thanks for your feedback!
A quick tip for using the Doux foam- be careful to not use a leave in or curl cream that has oils in it, & use as little as possible of the cream or leave in. It actually says on the bottle to avoid using any products with oil in it prior to applying & let me tell you it really makes a difference if you follow that! I used the twist by ouidad leave in spray in the black bottle cuz it only has one oil, safflower which is quite light, and it's in the bottom half of a long ingredients list, so the actual "oil" in the leave in is negligible, & then I got amazing definition from the Doux foam! I realize all hair is different, but just something to think about with that particular product🤷🏽♀️ I actually like to use that foam in place of curl cream to define my curls, & then scrunch in gel on top for longevity! I literally liked #1 & #2 the best, but honestly they all looked pretty great!
Thanks for the tip. I did use a leave in conditioner, but I did a wash now, style later routine, so most of it was rinsed out. But maybe there was just a little left in my hair, which affected my results. I'll keep that in mind for the future. I haven't tired pairing it with a gel yet, but maybe I'll give that a try. 😊
Thank you so much for the compliment. ☺ It's actually funny because I've been fighting with it the past week or two 😂 it can be really easy to hyper focus on when it isn't perfect. This is a good reminder to me that sometimes, I'm definitely my own worst critique. ❤
@@Linas_lovelylocks Lol, your last statement is the honest truth and most of us are guilty of it. And hyper focusing on the problem areas? Guilty. Thanks for the reminder that we all struggle in some way with this stuff, even the ones we think are perfect. 🥰
Great video, Lena. Really loving foam these days. I have the Kerotin and JVN but I would like to try the Curlsmith or TGIN. Love how your little girl loves foam too for a totally different reason, the awesome bubbles.
I'll have to try the Kerotin and JVN ones as well. 😊Thanks for your feed back! And agreed, she's so sweet. It's so fun to see her play with them. I may have to start keeping some for myself though. 😂
I like the first one and third one the best. I've tried curlsmith, shea moisture and doux mousse def. I LOVE the curlsmith one for after plopping my hair and right before diffusing. It just adds that extra level of something that makes my wash days amazing! The shea moisture mousse was the first foam I've ever tried and I remember loving it for refreshing because of how light it was (haven't used it in years though). The doux mousse def it's a hit or miss for me. I've only used it a few times and it left my hair feeling not the best. Good definition but definitely did not hold. I want to try the TGIN but I already bought more foams I need go to through 😅 (innersense foam, treluxe curl mousse, and verb foaming gel). So far I've tried the treluxe and I haven't gone back to any other foam. It's so moisturing for my course hair, the volume is insane, and the definition works so well! A little does go a long way I only use one pump per section because it's so creamy and the SLIP so much better than the doux. It just clumps my waves sooo nicely. I don't want to try other foams because I love this one so much. Wanting to cocktail foams now maybe combining the treluxe with the curlsmith one which I'm almost out of.
Maybe I'll use up the rest of the Shea Moisture Mousse that way then. I've wondered if it would be good for refreshing, so I'll try that next time. Oh! I've been wanting to try the new Treluxe Foam so bad! I just haven't had the chance to find it yet. I may have to now after your feedback 😂it sounds amazing. I could see cocktailing with the Curlsmith Foam being good. Hopefully it works well for you.
@@Linas_lovelylocks so far I think it's only available on their website. On their insta people ask if it's in Walgreens or whole foods yet and it isn't. I got it on black Friday off their website. Only reason I don't mind buying so many foams is because they are alot easier and faster to get through then leave in or gel. Would love a review if you try out any new foams/mousses!
Can you please do a battle of the Custards, please. From KeraCair Defining Custard, Canto Define and Shine, African Pride Custard, Curly Kids Custard and Chic Curls Custard . Please or in a version of your own . Non cream based custards - please. Im a hold- Boy 🤠
Sure! I'll see what I can put together. I have a few custards that I'd like to compare. I'll see if I can do a few different videos with them. Thanks for the suggestions!
I do recommend pairing both foams and mousse with a gel for more longevity. Mousses can be ok on their own and don't need it. But I still like to. Honestly there isn't exactly a right answer with the order to apply them. It depends on your preferences. I like to do foams first, then gels. But the benefit of a foam is that they help clump your hair together, so I could see applying one after your gel. For mousses, I actually have a video that I talk about this in. ruclips.net/video/R8aPSZ45i4s/видео.htmlsi=Ao8URC0oq8RF_cZi Again, it really depends on preferences. I like to do gel first, then a mousse because I rake gel through my hair, but I like to scrunch in a mousse. But most people will say that you should apply the mousse first then and then the gel. Hope that helps
I only tried Shea Moisture and I wasn't impressed. I won't be buying it again. Have you tried Mielle Babassue Brazilian Curly Cocktail Curl Mousse (which is a foam?)
Yeah I wouldn't recommend it for a one and done styler though it does work well for a refreshing product. I do like the other fiams though. No I haven't tried that one yet.
@@Linas_lovelylocks As a matter of fact, I have. As you said about the other foams, it wouldn't be good for a single styler. But I do think it's pretty good for a foam.
Lol that's a great idea 😂 or at least very watered down leave in conditioner. For the most part now, I let her play with the Lotta Body Hair Foam. Since it's only $4, it doesn't bother me as much if she plays with it. Thanks for the great idea!

Favorite is Xmondo Wavetech extra hold mousee/foam. One and done! (and a leave in conditioner)
Thanks for the recommendation! I've been wanting it for a while. I'll have to try to get my hands on it.

Love this concept and I'd definitely vote Curlsmith for the win, but then again you have gorgeous hair so you made all the products look good.

@@sock_account You're too kind ☺
I’m sure this will be helpful for fine-medium wavy/curly hair.
I hope so ☺
I like the Shea Moisture foam as a finishing product over a gel. It works really well for me. By itself; not so much.
That's a good point! I could see it being a good finishing product. Thanks for the suggestion. ☺️
