Tbh Koffee you say you like MHA but that’s been the entire theme of the story from the very beginning. In the story it’s clear that they portray everyone who helped out in the final arc, even the civilians who supported Deku when people were against him, even the traitors and villains who later helped Deku as a hero. Point shown in the chapters titled “the day we all became heroes”. I mean this message has been clear since the very beginning. Anyone can be a hero to someone else if they are there for them and support them to a cause. That’s been clear from the beginning of the story. I’m confused how you’re calling out Horikoshi for changing his manga when it’s always been this. Also to the point about Deku I believe his look will change back when the wound heals, it was more for comedic effect; I personally don’t like it either. He’s also going to get with Uraraka at the end of series so we need to wait and see
I highly doubt what Hirokoshi is saying has to do with black rock or whatever, but more how culturally jp is a collectivist society. All about working together and contributing to a cause and all that jazz. Falling in line and putting the group first over the individual. This is why a lot of recurring themes in manga like shounen is about everyone pulling together to achieve something. Or the person who goes against the group somehow is looked at as weird. It also why it seems like he talking like hes walking on eggshells.

He has no foundation he´s using SJ´s foundation to get ahead, search Horikoshi´s historic of serializations and cancellations, why he´s asking stuff? Because thats how his entire career works MHA wasnt the manga he wanted to make it was the manga the editors forced him to make.
Ngl I did like Dark Deku because I love edgyness, I was pissed that arc was so short and got resolved in the way it did, that was the first sign MHA was going downhill, then it was trying to save Touya/Dabi when MFer was already unredeemable (now he's crispy fried chicken until he slowly dies, hopefully they don't pull an Eri) then it was redeeming Touka by having Ochako accept her and all her faults (just like Dabi, she killed people of her own free will, how is she admirable?) then Overhaul/Eri plot points just got handwaved (Eri just giving her horn and Overhaul didn't do shit in the arc so why bother putting him in there); I also forgot that while they were small instances of "racism" here and there, suddenyl having Spinner and Shoji make that into a much bigger deal felt off to me. I'm disappointed Horikoshi gave such a politically correct answer but if you analyze MHA, that whole thing about them just being people who encourage you and give you support is there since Day 1. All the speeches some characters do, almost every hero has some kind of support item, characters with "support" powers getting more screentime and doing other things (Kaminari and Momo for example was simply a battery and construction tool in this final arc when their powers actually could've helped fighting Shigaraki). The actual hero answer is easy. Heroes are meant to represent the virtues that symbolize the human race (the desire to help your fellow man, to right the injustices of the world, to bring hope unto others, the want to improve oneself and strive for more without giving up or falling into despair etc) while also the peak of physique. This is why political correct heroes don't really work, if your legs don't work; you'd make a hovercraft or some kind of leg armor that can make you move them etc.
Tbh I really wish deku didn’t get powers at all, it would’ve been fine if he relied on something like Gadgets or his physical human abilities to prove that anyone can be a hero without powers. He already had a notebooks and knew everything about their powers and weaknesses. So the dynamic of that playing out would be more interesting than him getting powers in my opinion at least.

Giving him powers to begin with felt forced. If the main message of Mha was that you can be a hero even without powers, then why even give deku powers to begin with. The point of story was not about whether or not if you had powers or not it was talking about what makes a hero, are you willing rushing head first in regardless of your circumstance or will you step back because of say circumstance. Something Deku should've been in my opinion. He was set up for it, considering he had notebooks about the pros and their abilities and move sets.
Deku could've suffered the spiderman route or batman route both better than cap america route.
