The standstill forehand is very close to the non standstill for most players and the standstill backhand is really nice in the woods, no more whining about a bad lie. (Both can reach +300' no problem) So keep teaching it!

Great video! I'm 66 and just started playing 10 months ago. I played a couple of days ago and was doing almost exclusively standstill forehands and backhands. My upshots are so much better standing still, a lot of my drives as well. I am really happy if I get 250 feet on a drive, so my upshots and putting have to make up for it. I shot my best round ever at the course we played. A +3 which I was thrilled with! Keep the vids coming, I need all the help I can get!

You can hit 250 at 66 ? That is outstanding for over 65 and playing 10 months !

I really appreciate the attention to detail, and more importantly, the demonstration of keeping the disc flat, even with the plane throughout the swing, producing practically no wobble - backhand and forehand. This is a lot harder to achieve, but I think it paves the way for gains everywhere else. Thank you, Jeremy!

Thank you. I’m hoping to do some more of these “GET BETTER…” videos in the future.

@@PartTimeDiscGolf I think you really hit the nail on the head here. I know Joseph (Another Round) commended you in a recent round for your backhand, and I have to agree. This is an issue I've been trying to tackle, and it's so good to see great examples to try to model after. Keep up the great work!

This might just be me but I noticed putting the pad of your finger on the disc instead of the side of the finger when you throw forehand is much better and you get a cleaner release

I do beginner clinics at my school and for the parents. I am not an expert on form, but I can help people get started.

You will need to transfer weight from your left side to your right side during the throw. Once the disc is released you should be off your left side and fully on the right side then you just need to follow through. So I would recommend stepping through after the throw and landing on your left foot. Does that make sense at all?
