Why I Hate My Rooftop Tent- Fatal Flaw

- This is just my opinion based on my experience with my tent. The biggest complaint is the lack of insulation both from noise and from temperature. This tent is a lower end model but even some of the $4000 tents are exactly the same from what i've seen. I should be clear that it's more of a joke when i say that they're all for instagram. The point i'm making is that people make them seem way cooler than they are. If i had to describe it in a few words, take the cheapest tent you can get at walmart and strap it to your roof on a folding platform= RTT. Swing and a miss.

Depends entirely on the fabric used - insulation is quite nice if you have good tent material.
You still cute tho 😉
Thanks for the honest video, think you'll save some people $. It's sad you have to give so many disclaimers, for all the keyboard warrior crybabies in the overland world who will be offended lol. I get it though. Thanks!
That was my intention, I know a few people who feel the same way I do so it’s not just me crying lol. I’m sure I’ll still get roasted in the comments either way lol.
@@DJwessling screw em, too many snowflakes not at work during covid 😂 have you tried sleeping in the back of the truck? How old is the little one. I got a 2 yr old and will probably build a platform when he's old enough to go road tripping with me.
@@KarpucMotoring yeah aT the end of the video I detailed my cot setup how I sleep in the back. Which I love so much more. My son is 7 and he doesn’t mind sleeping beside the cot but I’ll probably do the same. Just build a sleeping platform where I can still have a fridge.
@@KarpucMotoring if you skip to like @30:30 youll see the cot. (I know it’s a lot of rambling lol.)
Great perspective… A RTT is a lot of money to gamble on. I’ll try the in car cot
