  • Makita has done it again, still good tools but not all that much innovation seen in this one. Looking at their newest impact and drill driver combo kit to see what has improved and what stayed the same.

    Honestly don’t think an impact needs more power than what makita gives. Something like the Milwaukee m18 fuel has tons of power but it is very imprecise and if you use the full power you will be breaking 1/4 inch adapters like crazy. 1/4 inch hex isn’t made for that much torque so you’re better off getting an impact wrench.

    • @adderjack4604
      @adderjack4604 3 года назад +1

      Yeah, I use my impact wrench when I want a lot of power. Impact drivers are not meant to be used for lag screws or nuts/bolts, and I don't need an impact wrench with a 1/4" chuck, if you know what I'm saying. That's too much power for something that small. Little job, little gun. Big job, big gun. It's not complicated. Lol

    This kit is extremely good, but you have to get Acme Tools to let you review the Makita 40v hammer drill and impact driver combo. I just bought the 40v hammer drill/impact driver combo last Tuesday and received it from Acme Tools last Sunday and it’s even better than the 18v combo. The 40v 2.5Ah batteries imo are lasting longer than the 18v 5.0Ah. I wasn’t really into Makita, but Makita definitely makes some great comfortable tools. I might just sell some of my Dewalt and some of my Milwaukee and replace it with new Makita 40v 👍🏻👍🏻

    Thanks for the vid! I just picked this set up! On the drill, mine sounds the same as yours when coming off the trigger with no load (not drilling into anything) It sounds like gears grinding like something is very wrong. Any thoughts what's going on here? This happens regardless what mode it's in. Thanks!

    • @arendmookhoek4314
      @arendmookhoek4314 3 года назад +1

      I have a different model makita drill, this one but one size smaller, and it has the same thing. My theory is that it is the motor controller is trying to slow down the rotating components by braking, but doing this in a very choppy way, creating the noise. If that's the case it means it's absolutely fine and working as intended. When you release the trigger quickly the sound never occurs, which is why I think this is indeed what is happening.
