I'm a bit surprised there wasn't a mention of the PFAS contaminate in aquifers near DMAF. It's one reason I would never consider purchasing a home in the affected areas. Worth a look into researching. It was in the news again just a few months ago after TW shut down some water stations over it. Although, it's been covered in the news for years.

Being a guest I always notice that in the hotel rooms they ask if you wish to have your linens or towels washed , changed due to wanting to conserve water. Also I've heard something about the amount of snow in the mountains effecting water.

    • @TucsonArizona

Yes every year our mountains get a decent amount of snow that becomes run off down the mountains, but some winters we get more snow than others

People in some cities in arizona sale your homes soon n get your money from them, cause this water shortage is serious in Az, pine n strawberry ran out of water
I was in wilhoit n kirkland in oct 2022 n one well their went dry n that housing area had to use the other well in the other area there, they might run out of water also, those 2 places are small n below prescott
If you dont sale your homes n get your money back in them n your area runs out of water your homes wont be worth much
In foothills in scottsdale area they are running out of water n those homes wont be worth much
If you going to live in Az in some areas just rent a place or camp out
If this water shortage gets to serious by then it will be to late to get your money from your home
Be ready to move out of Az also if water shortage gets to serious
Then theres the electricity problem maybe, if hoover dam gets to low well their might be power problems for Az n other states

good info but its what they dont tell us that's most "interesting". dive deeper for "the rest of the story"; they've been purposely discharging all the wests reservoirs and ground water tanks in Tucson etc under various bogus excuses, ex. the millioms of acre feet dumped into the ocean to save the Delta "smelt", and cloud seeding where its not needed, pumping ground water to feed Saudi dairy cattle etc...research a little beyond screwgle....NOT drought. look at Texas' many weather modification associations....the California insider yt channel, for the easiest starts...need to know how to deep research, non Screwgle source to find mountains more proof

Thank you, to you and your husband, Kimberly. Seems like a lot of people who have moved to Arizona, mostly to the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas, need to be educated about water conservation and the desert regions of Arizona are nothing like places they moved from, such as Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Washington, and Oregon. I hope a lot of new Tucson and Phoenix area residents have watched this video to give them a warning about droughts and what can happen when everyone is not careful with water usage.

I love that you were raised to conserve water! And, yes, Tucson Water has made great strides in water conservation (they offer a generous rebate on rainwater harvesting cisterns, water barrels), but after attending water conferences, I believe they underestimated the impact of climate change on our water supply. We are in the midst of a 27+ year drought that has gotten worse due to climate change. Most of our water comes from the Colorado River and we share it with 7 states and Mexico. It has been over allocated. Lake Mead and Lake Powell where we store our CAP are at record lows. There are lots of news articles about our current water shortage. The Governor wants to spend a billion dollars to bring water from other places. Yet people are still wasting water. If you are coming here from other places that have plenty of water, please, be mindful that you are in a desert. Please, don't put in grass that needs to be watered or your favorite high water tree from back home. Please, plant low-water desert trees or heritage fruit trees. Find out how much water they use. Put in rainwater harvesting basins to save water. Enjoy our desert lifestyle!

Thanks for the view and comment. Just want to clarify, I am not a water specialist by any means but I made this video because I get a lot of questions about water and drought. I talk in the video about how both Arizona and the Colorado River are in a drought so I definitely don’t think we’re A-okay, but the state and city have a lot of drought preparedness plans in place and I wanted to discuss those in the video, as well as plans for the future and how changes in water conservation are making a difference. However, I always think that we as Arizonans can be doing more- and should be doing more- and I absolutely think anyone moving here who is concerned in any way about water and drought should do their own research before coming here. As a born and raised Tucsonan, I believe water conservation needs to be a way of life for all of us. I really hope that that came out in the video, because honestly that was my main goal. Thanks for checking out the channel! 💦🌵✌️
