The Sam Hughes area is NOT a suburb! It's right smack dab in the middle of the city. Nice homes for sure, but there are a lot of them rented to University students year round. So, if you want to hear loud parties, cars racing up and down the streets, and difficulties parking, this is ok for you.
Thanks for the info! Pinky and the Brain! LOVE IT!
Sam Hughes is definitely not a suburb it is central! Also lots of old people and professors live there, it's a bit pricier.
My fam (wife, kids) and I moved to Oro Valley last year from TX. Very strong community and the best for kids! You will probably get to know your neighbors too lol!
That’s where we moved with young kids many years ago and it’s awesome
Dude, the background music. Too much.
Music is intrusive
Thanks for the input
I recently moved from Marana back to Texas for work. enjoy the job, but miss Marana and AZ. will be moving back when i retire.
There’s so much variety in Marana!
I have lived in Rita Ranch since 2001. I would not recommend anyone live here! The neighborhood has changed a lot. There are homeless people hanging out in the parks, people don’t take care of their yards like they’re supposed to & the HOA doesn’t enforce the laws. There are several vacation rentals in the neighborhood, one is behind me. It’s basically a party house, which I don’t appreciate. If I have to stay here in Tucson, I might consider living at the 49ner golf course neighborhood. Bty- I believe the Vail School District excepts open enrollment students, so you don’t have to live in the district to attend the schools.
Triple digits for sixty five days straight
It has felt like negative 24 in Denver for about the past week. A dry, 110 doesn't sound all that terrible at all.
Yup i moved here from Ca in 2018. I affectionately call it the blowtorch sun. Walk w umbrella. Wait at corners in the shade of the poles🥵
Thank you for this information! I'll be moving to Tucson, in the summer of next year, and this information is beneficial for when I purchase my next home.

Well I subscribed. My wife and I from Minnesota are looking to buy a retirement (winter) home in Tucson. Thanks for the info
Let us know hires we can be of assistance. We love it here
Loved the part about pronouncing Sahuarita! Glad to know I'm not alone in wondering how to pronounce that correctly. Thanks for the informative video as I continue to investigate Tucson as a potential retirement location. BTW, I would've preferred to hear the monsoon thunder over that mostly annoying background music!
Good point on the monsoon thunder!
I agree Dove mountain shouldn’t be bottom of the list.
No go on properties South of the interstate.
Thanks for the input
I’m surprised you didn’t mention Winterhaven. That’s a very sought after neighborhood.!
Winterhaven is awesome. We’ll talk about it in s future video
Rita ranch has gone downhill though. I wouldn’t like to live there. That being said, Vail is more of a family town than Oro Valley would be. Oro Valley is more of an older community. When I say older I don’t mean like 60+ community but it’s a much older age place. I mean, that’s where I want to live when my kids are out of the house 😂
I'm moving back next summer. I miss Tucson and the heat. I'm in northern California right now.😊
Be sure to look us up
You miss the heat?
Leisurely strolls in 120 degrees😂
You're killin' me smalls! Thanks for watching, I greatly appreciate it. lol we hit 110 today, which is pretty rare. But still 110 is not fun. The rains brought it down to 75 pretty quickly though.
No that's Phoenix that's 120
Temperature gets high but you can stand in the shade and cool off because the humidity isnt high.
The hottest I remember is one day in 1990 or 91, when it got to 117 degrees. Monsoons don't startup til later in the season. The June clouds are just the buildup.
Living in Marana now.
Us too
Thank you Paul, that was a fantastic rundown of neighborhoods. Much appreciated.
Thank you! Any suggestions for other neighborhoods?
Oracle? Great 55+ but may be too far out
Oracle has some great options too
What about Saddlebrooke?
We have a video on Sadlebrooke coming out soon.
It's a long way to the grocery store or anything else.
There are grocery stores right there in Catalina and Oro Valley right there. They have their have their own preforming arts theater. Restaurants, pharmacy, phys. therapy, gas, bank etc all in the community. Libraries and lots of golf, tennis and pickleball.
Corona De Tucson is rarely mentioned. Why is that?
It’s a great area
how come you dont know how to pronounce tanque Verde?
I do know how to say it. Do you?
There’s a bunch of language police on here. Geez 🙄
Barrio Hollywood
Biggest gang in Tucson W/S hollywood est 1930s
And YOUR Top 3 would be?
Depends on what ChatGPT tells me for that! I'll be redoing this list with a 2024 version soon!
Yeah, that's not how Sahuarita is pronounced. It's how gringos might pronounce it, but that ain't it.
How might it be said then?
@@LivingInTucsonArizona This one does it pretty good. Not quite how the native Spanish speakers say it, but pretty close. ruclips.net/video/SbENvwgyOfw/видео.html
@@LivingInTucsonArizona Saw-rita or Sah-wha-rita if you're getting fancy.
Please don’t move to Tucson.
Why dear?
Because it’s horrible.
Yes. We have enough people already.
