Native Tucsonan here, worked in real estate for two years. The north part of Tucson, pretty much everything north of River Rd, people call "the foothills" and very few Tucsonans think of it as part of Tucson. On your map you include lots of cities that aren't actually Tucson. As you say, they are suburbs, Marana, Oro Valley, Vail, etc. "Crime" is high in central Tucson, less so in the suburbs. I never experienced a burglary, robbery, etc but there are lots of angry white men with guns who are itching to use it on "trespassers." Driving in Tucson is definitely more dangerous/common than the crime. DUI crashes and run over pedestrians are pretty common. I was hit two different times while walking home from school in childhood. Tucson Police also has had a really shady past with misrepresenting crime to maintain or lower their numbers.
EVERY city has pros and cons and good areas and bad areas. I lived at Grant/Alvernon but back then I never had any issues. And I knew what areas were more problematic

So Germany is absolutely safe? In 15 years we had 2 break-ins in our upscale neighborhood home. My conclusion: Police simply can't prevent or solve them. So what, we live with the possibility and carry insurance. Though we have nice and decorative bars on the windows too, there is always a weak spot. The good thing is homes can't be stolen and our money is in the equity of the home. So financially nothing can happen. Our cats are the first to clear out anyway.
I agree! You can live in Tucson your whole life and never be a victim of a crime, but certain areas tend to be much less crime than others. It’s important to be knowledgeable of the area and use common sense 👍
I agree; I don’t see it many other places. However I do see it on Tucson homes even in neighborhoods with practically no crime at all. I see security gates with southwestern style images (like coyotes or cactus), even in areas of town that see no crime at all. Lived in both Picture Rocks area and downtown Iron Horse district near the U of A and notorious 4th Avenue. Picture Rocks more remote had a lot of snowbird trailer areas with a lot of property theft and break ins..... Drugs are a major problem. Downtown near 4th Avenue had car broken into a couple times, property destruction, tons of homeless/ mentally ill/drug addicts that increase with the Gem Show every year.... College kids drinking trashing the area every weekend and I had enough cleaning my property every Monday morning and moved out of Arizona.... It was actually nice during the Pandemic, lockdowns as the city was empty. The local Police stopped doing anything for quality of life issues...our super liberal mayor stopped supporting them and the Liberal police chief was useless also. Oh well......

We are a border town period and I moved here from LA 23 years ago and seen how it has become just like LA... By the way why are you saying south Tucson is its own city wouldn't it be Tucson as well , but ok Hispanic I get it ... I live NW and we have crime here as well .. stop it

I don’t think I talked about the outskirts of Tucson being crime free, although I do think that certain areas of Midtown and downtown and south Tucson that used to be much lower crime, have gotten much higher crime throughout the years, and I think those areas are higher crime than the bulk of the rest of the city. As you get further outside of Midtown I tend to find that crime is lower. I do know that crime can happen anytime, anywhere; this video is mostly talking about generalizations for crime in the city. South Tucson is a very small city that is an enclave of the city of Tucson, with their own mayor, city Council, Police Department, and fire department. I really like South Tucson because they have some great shops and are known for their absolutely delicious restaurants, but throughout the years they have fought an uphill battle when it comes to crime. People often include South Tucson crime rates when they talk about Tucson crime rates, but the two cities really are separate and crime statistics should be too.
It's nice that they're finally fixing roads It's. A good thing. But. Home and land taxes go. Up. And. That's. Not. Good especially for. Low income. Family especially people with decublty es not good no construction the city and country as no. Construction at. All no body says anything to help 🙂😡😡😡
G perhaps if they could hire police officers that could write an accurate police report things might be a bit better! My ex's new wife came to my house destroyed my property inside my apartment under the guy she was going to pack my step daughter's belongings and carry them down she never packed one item and never carried down one item. She assaulted me busted up my house and when the police finally came after four calls to 911 an hour and 40 minutes later guess who they took to jail? They took me! I was in my apartment not bothering anybody this woman came to my house and cause complete chaos and damage I now am dealing with Tucson courts after 14 months. As for the police report? I quit reading it after the first two pages cuz they were five mistakes. Among them, by date of birth and other very easily written information. And this is all the crap they're prosecuting me on and they can't even supply police officers who can write a correct police report! Are you freaking kidding me?? I moved back home to Tucson after 40 years because it was a happiest childhood I had and my grandparents are buried there. I had to move to Colorado to be with my sister after all this big fiasco caused by the ex's new wife who by the way received absolutely no consequences whatsoever she was allowed to drive away in her car with no problem. Even after stealing my boyfriend's cell phone when it fell out of his pocket as he was trying to pull her off of me. But none of that matters to the prosecutors in Tucson. They are all sick people I'm sick of the laws in Tucson and I will never ever ever go back!
By the way if you own property in tucson? If you have squatters or 10 into aren't paying the rent good luck with that! They have all the rights to Tucson Police will surely put you in jail for even requesting anything do not move there!

South Tucson can get bad but east side is OK. Just like any big town you gotta know the bad spots.

I'm on the east side and have no issues out here aside from the traffic and occasional car accidents on my street. That's the real danger

Casa Adobes is a good area but I would stay away from Flowing Wells.
