Reznov's machete is not random. That model is actually the reglamentary in the red army, so it is a bit offsetting seeing the different factions using it.

I think Reznov is as historic as Master Chief in the realm of video game characters. Both characters have left a significant impact on their respective game franchises and are beloved by fans for their memorable stories and personalities.
I like how the modders made more historical npc uniforms than the actual devs, like the german in the america mod is wearing a smock, low boots with gaiters and grey pants for that is what was issued during the later stages of the war. though i'm unsure what the white cloth he is wearing on his chest is, it is not mag pouches to an stg 44/mp 40. but maybe it is a bandage? Who knows.
Imagine if we were tricked into thinking we were playing as russian only to realize that the flag we put was german and we were actually german all along😂 That way we could have a german campaign without that much of a backlash😂

A Stalingrad game set on the Axis side would be cool. You invade in Operation Barbarosa, you eventually get through the eastern portion of Russia. Then you try to push the Russians across the Volga, then you switch to a Romanian Soldier of the 6th Army being crushed by Soviet Tanks out in the countryside, and then back to Stalingrad fighting for survival. Then maybe, depending on how you play; you end up frozen to death, starved to death or end up in a Gulag and escape from Vorkuta.
Whenever you plant the Soviet flag and Reznov praises you, you feel like you are proud to be a Soviet soldier, and a Soviet in general, even though the Russians are portrayed as the antagonists in this franchise

A Stalingrad game set on the Axis side would be cool. You invade in Operation Barbarosa, you eventually get through the eastern portion of Russia. Then you try to push the Russians across the Volga, then you switch to a Romanian Soldier of the 6th Army being crushed by Soviet Tanks out in the countryside, and then back to Stalingrad fighting for survival. Then maybe, depending on how you play; you end up frozen to death, starved to death or end up in a Gulag and escape from Vorkuta.
