      After 6 surgeries to my spine. Everytime a Doc or SS or PT asks why I don't use a cane, it is that phrase I tell them. Until my body crumbles I will do what I can to stand proud. I love this country, but right now I hate my government. FJB

    In April 1937, Reagan enlisted in the United States Army Reserve. He was assigned as a private in Des Moines' 322nd Cavalry Regiment and reassigned to second lieutenant in the Officers Reserve Corps. He later became a part of the 323rd Cavalry Regiment in California. When he spoke...He had all of Americas ears. RIP.

    My two great uncles have empty graves in Arlington because they died with their bombers shot down by Nazis in France, liberating Europeans, even though most of them hate us Americans. I thank you two for being better people than too many over there.

      My great uncle is buried in Ypres, Belgium.
      He died in 1916, having volunteered to serve in the Canadian Expeditionary Forces because the USA had not entered the war yet.
      Every night at Menin Gate, the people of Flanders (aka Ypres, aka Ieper) hold a ceremony called "Last Post" which honors all the men and women who died fighting for freedom in WW1 and 2.
      They've kept that vigil for over 100 years.

      He was an actor acting as president. He was "in charge" during the large distribution of wealth from the middle class to the rich in history and prior to Bush Jr the 2nd largest financial collapse in US history. He gave his "tear down this wall" speech 2 days after Gorbachev had told him he was doing that...making it seem like he ordered it. Upon being elected, he had the Iranian hostages wait until he was inaugurated to be released to make himself look like a savior. An absolute POS...

      Reagan was corrupt and his administration was full of scandal. Worst President in my lifetime before Bush Jr and the neo-cons were worse, and then Trump was the worst of all.

      Two EPA scandals,
      Savings and loan crisis,
      Operation Ill Wind,
      Wedtech scandal,
      Debategate,

      He was a bad president. Look into the things he actually did. Especially his amnesty of all illegal aliens in the US at that time. He had some good things but was generally pretty bad

    Just hearing this speech fills me with so much pride, I leave for basic training in a month to start my journey to become a United States Marine, you can say I'm following in my dad's shoes, he was a marine and i hope I can do him and my country proud! Thanks for reacting to this gem.

      From a 29 year US Army vet, you took several steps like your amazing US Marine father and proved you are already always faithful. Why you step in several of your father's footsteps, the greatest honor is where his footsteps end like all veterans, you will create new footsteps for future generations to follow in too. As you earn the right to be called a US Marine, remember Semper fi is as much a commitment as it is a calling & standard. With God's help, you will be amazed how much you accomplish as a US Marine no matter how long you serve.

" your body can endure things long after your mind has told you to stop. " I can over come anything. " and you'll breeze through basic. when your getting smoked in a sand pit..." I can hack it " when you've got wee hour fire watch depriving you of sleep..." I can hack it " when you arrive at the breaking point. (and you will, it's the purpose of USMC boot camp) I CAN HACK IT !!!

    Ronald Reagan was famous as a Hollywood star in the 1940s and 1950s. He was elected Governor of California and then twice elected President of the US from 1981 to 1989. He was a Conservative Republican and his leadership greatly advanced the country.

    Honestly if I was British I would take pride in many things.
    It was Britain who stood up to the Nazis alone after France had fallen and before America joined the war.
    Then there was the spirit of Dunkirk and how so many people participated and risked their own lives and boats to save their sons, fathers and brothers.

    I had 3 Uncles in the war....one missing in action, and still to this day never found, one came home just to die from malaria from getting bit by mosquitoes in the Jungles and third Uncle came home and turned into an alcoholic just to live day to day from being in the war.

    I love this speech! Ronald Reagan Library is a gem - located in Simi Valley. You guys should visit one day and actually go inside a real Air Force One. More Ronald Reagan speeches please 🙏 However, the greatest speech in American history is hands down The Gettysburg Address - Abraham Lincoln.

    I love the beautiful speech he gave after the Challenger space shuttle exploded after takeoff.
    More people need to check it out. He has a lot of great speeches. Even before he became president, like the speech he gave during Goldwater's presidential campaign in the 1960's.

    I was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station El Toro California in 1984, we were all standing at the fence when he came off Air Force One and he came over and shook our hands, I still remember and am proud of that.

    As a veteran of the US Army, the one quote that rings the most true to me was by General Douglas MacArthur. ‘The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.’ No truer words have ever been said.

    My experience with immigrants in America has been the complete opposite of what they described. Recent headlines have highlighted some disrespect from immigrants. But my general experience in my 50 years of life in America has found them to be among some of the most patriotic people you will find.

    The Great Communicator. Some of his greatest speeches were not speeches at all, but a Eulogy to the Space Shuttle Challenger Astronauts and message to the nation. I won't spoil them but it brings tears to my eyes thinking of his words. You need to check out his speech to the nation and the Memorial to the Challenger crew. Amazing how the right words can bring about meaning to such a terrible day.

    I turned 18 in 1979 and voted for RR in 1980 and 1984 (shows my age). He's the greatest president in my lifetime.

      He was better than Carter and, here in California, better than the Browns as governor. But Reagan could've been better. Don't forget that Reagan signed the law prohibiting carry of guns in California so he could've been stauncher on 2nd Amendment issues.

    I am an American. I served in the United States military for 30 years. My ancestry is mostly Scandinavian, but secondarily British. It breaks my heart that those living in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (I intentionally spelled in out its entirety as many don't understand the difference between England, Great Britain, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland--but I do) don't really identify with their country--that really saddens me. I'm living at my 35th address in places all over the world. I lived briefly in England, and I had a wonderful time and found England to be beautiful. I've lived or traveled to almost 30 countries, and I felt more foreign in England than any other place I've been for reasons that would take much too long to explain--they weren't language or cultural issues as I made the point of researching the nuances of British culture and didn't have any issues in that regards. The best explanation I can give is I sensed a palpable underlying resentment against Americans. I'm a student of history, so can appreciate the sentiment, but given all we have been through together, it just hurts me--very deeply.

    I don’t think he was necessarily the greatest president we ever had. But I do believe he was the president that we needed at the time, he was the great communicator and he did make this country believe in itself again. After Vietnam and the depression and everything of the 70s that was what we truly needed.

He would stay home on holidays so more Secret Service could stay home with their families. Reagan is one of greatest all time speakers, especially in the modern era

    The sad thing is more and more people in the United States are becoming ashamed of being American and hate Patriotism. But I have faith because I see a spark in some of these newer men that seem to be reviving that sentiment. There is a reason why they say the people of WWII were the greatest generation.     I'm a 20 year veteran of the USAF and thought I'd share this - when American military member's and their families get orders for England, and if you have pets (dogs and cats specifically) you not only have to have all shots, medical records, etc., but your pets are required to be quarantined off shore from England for 6 months just because Great Britain hasn't had a case of rabies in forever! My active duty husband and myself had no children so our cats were our kids and there was no way we'd ever put them through this. During the six months quarintine you couldn't visit, check on or remove them early for any reason! We were lucky and never got orders to the UK.

      In the end, though, I'm afraid that Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher were just a dead cat bounce for both the USA and UK. Look at the Democrats and RINOs we've had for president since, and basically the same in the UK.

If you ever get to the United States, and you like the things Reagan stands for, please please come to the city of Simi Valley in southern California to visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Its absolutely an amazing place to visit.

    When Thomas Jefferson ran for president, to be our third, he ran on building a huge navy to fight pirates. His campaign slogan was, in non-adjusted for inflation numbers, "Millions for defense, but not one cent for tribute." He was so adamant about it, he was running against the sitting president, while he was the sitting vice president.

    My father who was a WW2 vet. One of his heros was Churchill, not that he was remotely perfect but, he was what was needed at the time. So it goes both ways.

    President Reagan and President Trump are the two most magnificent Presidents in our countries short history , both men both had different enemies , battles and wars to win , President Reagan had The Soviet Union to defeat and President Trump had the US Congress . Both men, other than their God and families loved this country more than anything !

    There are US citizens who state they hate this country as well. Nearly all of them have never been anywhere else. They have not suffered nor sacrificed, have never been hungry, and been given everything they've ever asked for. They hate their country and parents because of it. it's said that tough times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create tough times. We're somewhere between the weak mean and weak times and rushing towards that "1000 years of darkness" that Reagan talks about.

    @5:06 I have at least and can say that in my Streamer Community, I have met then that 1%, who are proud of their country. Can't say that I haven't asked about the requirements of being able to run for PM. I am originally from New York State, and I feel that as a former New Yorker that someone has to make up for the Boris Johnson train wreck.
