At the 7.40 min mark you can see the house my Grandmother was born in. First white house on the left of the road. I've only seen pictures of it as well as google earth :-) Thanks so much for the upload mate.

I got to this after seeing a short clip on YT from a British news report of the 1970s. There were customs posts, a man whose surname was 'English' was a landlord and undertaker living in the Republic, but his garden was in Northern Ireland, he walked over the river, but could not take his own vegetables home as they would cross the border. When you get down to the granular level, borders look ridiculous.

That's why folk don't want Customs Brough back, because of Brexit. If Scotland get independence, then folk on the English Scottish border area will have the same problem. It will be harder to separate Scotland and England infrastructure. Will company's like BT, Network Rail and National Grid remain on both sides.

Thanks for your nice message. I would take my caravan close to pettigo a few times a year. If theres anything else you think you would like to see then let me know and I'll do another wee video. Do you know the street. I also have a video on youtube, about Lough Derg which is only about 5 miles from Pettigo. Depending on what faith she was, then there's a high possibility that she would have been there also.

@@AustellHenderson thank you so much Austell! there is a nice pace to your videography - I'm really not too familiar with Ireland but hope to visit in a couple of years. I think your puppy really adds to the video too! Just to watch her walk ahead is pretty cool. I'm not sure of the street, no. Some place name Loughulton? perhaps? I'm not 100% sure. :) I'll check out your other video

I wonder does the royal mail postman and the anpost postman see each other on delivery...I'm curious as I'm a posty myself

Each postman stays on their own sides of the village, as they are different companies. If Mail from the Northern Ireland side of the village was posted to the Southern side of the village, then Royal Mail would collect it but after going through its sorting office, it would then go to Anpost sorting office and be delivered by Anpost. When I was a wean living in the border town of Strabane, then some people from the Irish Republic would post there Christmas cards in Strabane Royal Mail, as the postage was still cheaper. Not sure about today if it's still done.

@@AustellHenderson I'd assume most things going from side to side will be delivered personally by hand ??
