I really liked the fact that you posted this video even after it didn't turn out the way that you wanted! This is literally me with most hairstyles😂 I appreciate the trial and error process. I used perm rods on my hair while it was extremely wet. I also used a hair milk instead of a regular cream which gave me a really decent curl once it wad fully dried. I think that you may benefit from this way like I did💕💕💕 EDIT: I also did two strand twist before rolling it in!
I know I'm late but. I think she messed up by not stretching first. I stretched and detangled my hair. My scalp was already oiled. Applied moose to each section ... Combed through before putting on perm rods.
I think you did a great job. I would add some mousse to define the curl.( I highly recommend Mielle Curl Defining Mousse) When using the perm rod, make sure to put the rubber band over your hair and as close as possible to the root.
You had the right idea. Make smaller sections and you’ll be good. I can’t remember if your hair was wet or not, but I need my hair soaking when I put it in rods. Then, I sit under a dryer for 15 - 30 min and sleep in them. It still came out cute though. Don’t give up on it. Even “failed” attempts can give you a beautiful fluffy afro, if you pick it out.
The wrong mousse can kill a hairstyle. I used CON mousse for rodset and my hair was flat and hideous. I used the Doux mousse the next day and was so amazing- better hold- bigger bouncy curls. It’s a trial and error thing for real
I would suggest stretching your hair , there are so many heat free ways to do that to get a tight hold, section evenly not to big or small then use a mousse
Hi, I used the long rods that come in colors indicating the size used a lot of lotta body on slightly sprayed damp relaxed hair using a little bit of u2 hair glue, the yellow tube stuff, and tighed those gurls up overnight they dried cause they were just sprayed with water and u only knew i did them cause they were sorta pointed in diddly direction but definition was on point lasted for days as i opened them up more each day...
I be so nervous with this particular hair texture. for me it’s because of how thick my hair is my parts would way smaller….I actually don’t do my natural hair because it take so long for ny hair to actually dry I’d probably have to keep those rods in my head for at least 2-3 days
Hey I'm new to your channel. And I'm loving your hair and actually I just did my hair like this yesterday....and girl it gave my hands a workout I was so glad I got done. Hope it turn out cute.😊❤❤❤❤

Yes girl the good the bad and the ugly I’m just trying to navigate this hair so it’s all a learning process!!
Respect cause many would have deleted this and kept it moving. Plus, it’s exactly how my first rod set turned out💯
one of the more realistic videos on actual 4c hair

Gotta use mousse! An saturate the hair section, making sure you smoothly roll on to the rolling with a tight base.
Your hair looks just like mine, and i LOVE how you keep haircare simple and doable!
Thank u boo💓

Yeah I need to invest in a dryer to sit under!!! and i agree the sections were huge I’ll try smaller ones next time ty💗

Okay THIS makes sense!!
It’s hard out here for us 4c girls this is exactly how mine always turns out 😩

I love how you did this! I'm adding end papers to help smooth my ends. First time curling tonight. Thanks for the tips!

l mix a little aloe vera gel with my foam. Give my hair incredible shine and hold curls well..not hard. Finish ends with argon oil. Volume shampoo.

I had a struggle doing this style too...smh but when I do this style with the spun rolls are my favorite.😂😂
Try a different style of rollers. There are sponge rollers and the one with the pen to push into the roller to hold it in place.

Love watching your videos especially I have similar hair type as yours and length 💕🌚
Thanks twin🥰
I think your sections were a little too big and you wanna make sure your hair is fully saturated before you put the rod in. Still cute ❤️
Your hair is lovely. I wonder how the iamblackgirls approach will work for you over a few months.

Omg, your mistake was doing this on dry hair!!! Lol you need a spray bottle😩
Lol noted 😅😅 I’ll remember for next time!!
Will that make the hair frizzy or is that’s why you add mouse after ?? 😩
And try using foam, it will come out perfect.
