Congrats George! I couldn't imagine anyone better for the job, truly doing the music justice. This practice session was a workout! I had to watch it twice - great groove feel while staying in the pocket at such a break-neck speed. All that without missing the dynamics and changes in tempo! Amazing work George and congrats again!

Wow, what a great opportunity. Much deserved. The PFOZ version of Carouselambra with Mr Jimmy is amazing enough, but getting to play a full live show with him and his band will be phenomenal, especially getting to do a nice long version of No Quarter.

Now that was beautious - that ending on it - the solo - was absolutely incredible. People try to say that solo at the end is sped up -- it's not ! You just proved it here and it matches exactly how Bonzo did in on July 29th - "the Missing Doll" tape.

Such great news!!! I was always hoping you'd come to the T.O. area! Prob is with tic prices, transit costs, etc. it's not in my budget. I live a few cities west of T.O. and would've probably planned to go if the show was downtown T.O. but transit one way is about 2 hrs long. I'm so sorry. Will really miss you!!!
That's gonna be awesome George. When we watch you play this it really shows the details in John's playing that we miss from the film. I love the playing at the 13:30 mark , I mean who would come up with that style to keep a beat like that. One more quick thing I'm the guy that said try Boho Beautiful yoga......that girl will really get you into shape , it sure has helped me.

Congrats! As far as being a jazz musician goes, take some inspiration from Billy Cobham, who I'm sure played sets that long with Johnny Mac back in the early 70s.
Oh definitely, but I'm not playing fusion...LOL. Mostly straight ahead, clubs , concerts , festival performances that last around 75 to 90 mins per set max. And never hitting as hard as a rock show consistently.
@@BONHAMOLOGY If any fusion drummer hit as hard as a rock drummer, it was definitely Billy :) That aside, I definitely hear ya, but I have faith you can do it. Wish I could be there.

Thrilled to hear it! He could not have chosen a better Bonzo. Those sections (and variations there on) are etched into my brain. I used to literally lay my head down on my desk in junior high and go through in my mind that while watching the clock to see if I could land on 26 minutes 53 seconds (I’d come really damn close), just to pass time in boring classes. And I can absolutely overlay the guitar in my head while you’re playing your drums. I can hear every note, (I hit the tympani slams at the break on my knee right with you!) so it’s undoubtedly gonna be a blast! And seeing you do that stick work you’re often demonstrating during the jam section before “Suck it!” was absolutely incredible! I have total faith in you, brother!😎
Thanks, I used to do a similar thing , visualizing the song in my head while waiting for the bus, or waiting for whatever dumb shit at school. LOL

Geez Louise, looks like you're ready to go to me! That's an epic workout George! Fantastic and congrats on the gig with Mr. Jimmy, you totally got this. I've always loved this version of D&C, especially the lightning fast triplets at the end, and that tribal groove Bonzo plays around the 13:23 mark. Are you playing the Bonham Engine there with unison 16th notes on the snare and floor tom, or is there a double on the kick? Look forward to hearing more about the gigs and hopefully they can be filmed somehow from the drummers view. ✌❤🥁

Perfect video for the 4th, Incredible playing there. The ending of the song reminds me of fireworks, and I annoy people in my neighborhood on the into the late hours since its the day I can get away with it! BTW, Did the the Tasmanian Devil take a chunks off your 20" black label? and is its backup there against the wall? is there a story behind all that? Inquiring minds want to know!😀

By the way, thanks for the discussion on that “triplet feel” section toward the end of the vid. That always had an unorthodox feel to it. Kind of like a triplet shuffle almost. Yet another good example of JB’s “guitar ears”. Matches the relentless bass line perfectly.
(See if you can convince Mr Sakurai to do some shows in the Chicago area. Plenty of Led Heads in the area would love to see you guys perform together.)
