I agree. Since it took so long to arrive, I was not about to ship it back. I'm very handy with doing lots of crafty things, so I re-felted them all myself.
Yeah, your board is way too small for those size pieces or your pieces are way too big for that board. You will have to make the final determination on which one it is. It took a lot of guts to post a video showing all of the F-ups, but that is REAL life and I commend you for it.
Wow, felt falling off right out of the box! Perhaps it was subjected to high temps in shipping and the adhesive weakened? I'd be much more P-Oed than you seemed to be! Otherwise, a very nice set. I think you need a bigger board, probably 2.5" squares. It looks kind of cramped as it is. BTW, it's a rare knight that *isn't* done in two pieces.
@@kenyablonsky That's great. Did you end up gluing the pieces to the leather first and trim to circular size later, or cut correcly sized discs of leather first and glue later?
@@-johnny-deep- I first pulled all the old felt and then sanded everything nice and smooth. I then applied the glue to the bottoms of the pieces and pushed them solid onto the leather. Once dried for at least a full day, I trimmed each piece down as close as I could using sharp scissors.
my chess iq went up 200% just watching this beautiful chess piece.....makes me want to dress up in a suit, like in the old english ways, with a monocle and a pipe in my mouth and sit down for a play
It looks amazing, but I think it would look better if you had bigger squares on your board.
It’s all I have for now.
Or smaller pieces
Agree
_jimc6144_ Perhaps putting the chess set in the washer (obviously on high heat) will shrink them acceptably.
I got a new bigger board for these pieces.
At that price, I would expect perfection, not felt practically falling off right off the bat…😔
I agree. Since it took so long to arrive, I was not about to ship it back. I'm very handy with doing lots of crafty things, so I re-felted them all myself.
Board is way too small to be enjoyable to play on. Needs a 2.5 inch square for that size piece.

A beautiful Chess Set & a fabulous board, however you need a board with at least 2.375 to 2.5 inch squares for those pieces.
That's next.

I was upset, but ultimately I just pulled all the felt and redid them all with leather bottoms. They came out very nice.

That felt should not be that way ! Sloppy !
Bro, this prolly costs more than my heart on black market.
I think YOUR heart would cost much more.
By the looks of the size of the base of your king, you should have gone with 2.5 inch squares on your board.
Yes, that is the next thing for me.
Congratulation! Looks absolutely Gorgeous! Little bit a Chessboard squares to small... Thanks for this Video! Enjoy to play Chess! Best Wishes! 👍👍👍💥
I got a new bigger board for these pieces.
This is a very nice chess set! Thanks for sharing!
Hi, Al! Yet another chess set site to add to my collection. No prices listed there though! Everything seems to be "make on demand".
Hello
Al su chess
Thanks
a verry good chess set
Nice set! Reminds me of my set I purchased recently. I have the 17" rio staunton biggie knight from houseofchess. I'm really enjoying it. Cheers!
The board are to small for the pieces
I got a new bigger board for these pieces.
Pieces are bigger compared to board

LOL....I know what you mean. It's the nicest set I've ever owned. Will be nice to pass it down.
It's crazy to me that they made these intricate, hand carved chessmen but couldn't take the time to properly center the felt bottoms.
I 100% agree.
nice chess set, maybe you need a bigger board
That's next.
@@kenyablonsky Can you return that Board and get a bigger one?
i think its the prestige set and not the Alexander chess set
Shame the pieces are too big for the board. 🐘
I got a new bigger board for these pieces.
@@kenyablonsky awesome 👍
it's a shame they didn't advise you to get a bigger board. Live and learn
They did, but it would have taken much longer for them to make the board as well. I have another set this board is great for.
Thats a really beautiful chess set! Congrats!
Thanks
The pieces are too large for the size of the board. Either the size of the pieces is left over or the size of the board is missing.
I got a new bigger board for these pieces.
I prefere this board i like it tight just my taste love it.

Beautiful pieces. Thank you for the video
Very nice chess
Thanks!
For the price it should be close to perfect!😤
I agree.
how much is it
@@ziyadzahid5432 current price is $309 on Etsy
I am not impressed because of the felt issue, really what the hell are they thinking?
Even if that didn't happen i would refelt all the pices anyway
I did re-felt all the pieces with nice thin green leather. Much nicer looking now.
@@mrZile1986 I did re-felt all the pieces with nice thin green leather. Much nicer looking now.
Looks cool👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
What is the board square size? It looks like 50mm. You need at least 60mm for these pieces.
yes, board squares are too small. My next purchase will be a larger board.
How much the price
How much were the chess pieces?
They're currently about $309

Very nice, thorough evaluation of the set, thank you !
Cool 😎
beautiful knights
The Knights were my first priority....must be beautiful! Then the rest also need to be nice also.
the board is too small.
Yes, I agree. A larger board is next.
Is this the official size?
Official?
felt fault send back
It took long enough to receive the first time. I am very handy with crafts and such so I re-felted them myself.
Crap glue. This stuff will probably start to fall apart in a few years.
On most pieces, the glue held up pretty well. I pulled all the old felt and re-felted them all with leather. Much nicer now.
@@kenyablonsky I'm glad you sorted it out for yourself, but at the price they're asking, this quality obviously won't do.
@@sadderthanyou7793 100% agree. After fixing the felt, and getting a larger board, the pieces look and play magnificently!
