14 year old here! I play piano, and I think that Howard Jones is the perfect example of using classical training to play pop. I aspire to be like him, and I love this song!
I think Elton John is the best example of a person classically trained at a prestigious music school ,but it didn't affect his creativity . Elton also has a great ear for different musical styles and can incorporate different styles like gospel into his own style. Howard is great as well. I love his 80s music.
Sorry I live in the dark age, no idea what severance is, but just seeing and listening how you grace those keys is wonderful..... can we please have some UK gigs this year
Howard Jones is STILL the man...but you need to add another Nashville to your tour dates. I'm in Nashville, Tennessee, and saw you at Vanderbilt in 1985. October 19, 1985 actually. I know because I still have the poster! And my best friend from high school still has his ticket! Thanks for all the great memories with more to come!
amazon Howard, funny little episode. Actually, man, you were one of the people bringing me into synths when we both were younger ;-) and always stayed with the piano too. This could be me saying, "honey, excuse me for a moment, I need to sit with the piano now and just learn this piece" (and then letting the moment to last an hour or so because the chords or melody took me elsewhere) - fantastic. Always a pleasure to see and hear from you. Keep going :--)

Have more patience at learning than I did at your age and you wont be 54 wishing you tried harder :)

@ That’s cool, I didn’t know Elton John was classically trained, but I guess it makes sense now. Thanks!

This is so cool, worlds collide.
Was just remarking to my wife how central the score is to what makes Severance what it is - a masterpiece of the small screen dystopian genre.
Wow amazing ❤😊😊

Cool ! I didn't realize this was Howard Jones.
I think the composer was (unconsciously?) evoking the Mission Impossible theme with those descending phrases.
Cool😮🫠
