It shows that he appreciates getting the job. And he's not wrong. He has spent years working in good projects, but here he had the chance to be in something epic.
@@SCharlesDenniconyeah i love the show but we were saying the same thing about Westworld after season one aired. And we all know what happened to that show.
Everyone is so good in this. I personally feel that everyone from the series deserve great love. Also, I loved how the show is inclusive without forcing it. Great Job Guys :)
This show is like a very good singer that mastered the bridge between head and chest voice so perfectly that the transition is seamless. Dark humor and tension blends so perfectly and we switch from one to the other so seamlessly.
What an interesting analogy. It's true. Somewhat related...In one interview I saw them discussing the piano theme for the show, and explaining how it suits the mood.
It’s funny, I’ve known of him my entire life and have always kinda thought of him as just a “passable” actor as I think I’d just never seen him in a role that really tested his capabilities. But by the end of this show I was convinced this man needs an award for the acting he did in this series with just his eyes alone. Man is INCREDIBLE
@LevitatingFleem He was always just the dickhead obnoxious sibling in Step Brothers to me so i had no idea he could do this kind of restrained joe normie type of role too!
Originally I thought he was well-suited for light comedy...Party Down. In Big Little Lies - I saw that he had more potential. Here he is- really delivering. Bit by bit I see he had more in him, than I ever realized.
I love the show. I didn't know Britt Lower before and I'm just blown away by her. I expected good things from all the people with whom I was familiar and they did not disappoint. Walken and Turturro I find quietly hilarious. So good.
I kinda always thought they got the idea from the film Office Space, when Peter asks a hypnotist if he can be hypnotised to think that when he came home from the job he hated, he'd think he'd been out fishing for 8 hours instead. This series has been my fav in the last few years. Top stuff!
@@francescaa8331 right?! they don't even realize how lucky they are. I strangely enjoyed waiting for each new episode back than also it was really hard haha. after that almost 3 years of waiting for the new season. I really hope it's worth the wait
I just finished season 1 and I haven’t been this invested/interested in a show in quite a while. A few have hit the mark for me like Barry, Ozark and Breaking Bad but there’s something so special about this one that it stands out above the rest. Very satisfied and highly looking forward to season 2😁
Really, one of the best shows ever made. It stands out today with all these shows that are about nothing, this one really explores something about the human condition.
It is unique. And for an hour-long show.... probably one of the best things in decades. Literally going to stick out in television history, I think. I've never seen anything like it.
Love how Severance explores the nature of identity via the metaphysical philosophies concerned with the self and how we conceptualize the nature of our reality. The question this show poses for me is how the 'innie' has no identity or power (at first), because his 'outie' has consensual power and proscribes half of his identity to the corporations whims. Yet, we root for the innie Helly who has been circumscribed servitude to the corporation by her own choice - such a strange dichotomy.
Agreed. Just rewatched S1 again. I loved picking up on all the duality messages throughout, both visually, audibly, and in dialogue. Brilliant writing, directing, music score, acting, set design, and story telling. 10/10.
Yeah, it's in the trailer, but never in the actual show. My guess is they cut it out to introduce us more to the whole concept of severance via Helly's perspective, to keep it with a bit more mystery at the start, but it's a good short explanation so they just used the audio for the trailer.
Maybe because it seems Severance was a “late bloomer” for a lot of people. I’ll be honest..I purchased Apple+ because I wanted to watch “The Reluctant Travel” w Eugene Levy (love him best travel show ever) and then I started searching for something else I might like on A+…I got a message from them stating recommendation of “Severance”(love drama and sci-fi)…and down the rabbit hole I went all night last night…love it and I can’t get enough. I have 2 episodes left of season 1 yet to watch and already soooo excited there is a season 2. I haven’t finished yet only because I took a break to wander thru RUclips to see if other people loved it as much as I do and if there is a season 2!!! …it seems to be a sudden obsession for millions of people. Four days four days until season 2!!! Ok going back to watch final 2 episodes of season 1!!🙏❤️🎶🌏🌍🌎
Severance is about memories and awareness within the dreamscape of our sleeping self. Think about it: does your dreaming self have any clue about your waking self?
So Anything Deeper - as to social commentary, was it just accidental? Through an idea out, play with some variables, and let the audience make what they want of it? OR? Is there a intended message or social commentary?
One time on nightshift, I was tasked with moving a desktop computer from one floor to another, for a new staff member, but the floor is so all over the place, I almost fainted LOL. It didn't help that one single outlet for the PC data connection is NOT right next to the others in sequence, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 5, that kind of thing. I'm hovering around the 4 and the 6, trying to find [outlet] 5 - in the end, I got someone else to help me, and they found [outlet] 5 in 2 minutes...it would be so much easier this year [2023] with desktop PCs that actually HAVE built-in Wi-Fi.
It's impossible to explain why people should watch it. And see for themselves what's it about. I've watched twice and want to watch again before season 2.
@@blackmaestros yeah the plot/characters definitely arent the same, but the atmosphere, locations and *especially* The Board are just too similar to be coincidence imo. but I’m not saying that’s even remotely a bad thing, I like seeing good media inspiring other good media.
Not really. I assumed that's what it was about from the description, that severence was necessary because what they did was super top secret work that they couldn't risk being exposed. But it's really about globalist elites wanting to create an absolute prison planet.
