The advantage that a cartridge like the 9mm, 45acp or 10mm has is capacity. Because the magazine is in the handle, the round can only be so long, or even so thick otherwise it negates capacity. Putting 10mm in a revolver makes no sense at all from a ballistics and energy standpoint. The revolver’s bailiwick is longer and even thicker rounds in the cylinder. Giving it a real punch. So why go with a short little round? Maybe, from a standardized ammo situation, it might make sense if you carry an auto on the belt and a revolver as backup? Or maybe from being cheaper to shoot and practice with? Yeah, not for me.
I agree. I love my 10mm 1911 and I love my Model 29 44 mag. But for different reasons. Like you said, if I’m gonna carry a big heavy revolver it better have a big heavy payload.
The advantage I see in a revolver in a semi auto caliber is this. You're still in the fight if your semi auto pistol fails or your magazines break. Love Your videos, Mr. Plowboy. God Bless!
They just need to understand that it doesn't matter what caliber revolver. It's what you want to do personally. People need stop putting their ideas in people's minds. I love the .45 Colt because that's what I want. So I don't care what someone else wants or doesn't want. It's all about personal preference?
Exactly. Ain't none of my business. Though I have to admit some of it just makes me scratch my head. Personally I like cartridges that have a good track record (.45LC is on that list) but, if they want to gamble on something else that's on them.
Jeff Cooper intended for the 10mm Auto in an semi auto to approximate the performance of the .357 Magnum in a revolver. The problem is that people have been hot rodding the 10mm Auto and the 9x19 in an attempt to achieve magnum revolver performance. I won’t buy a used auto pistol in those calibers due to this situation. They get battered horribly with these +p and +p+ loads. Only a revolver can safely handle these super hot offerings with any margin of safety and I think this is where one may perceive a use for such a chambering. Coupled with good moon clips there may be some veritas to the idea, at least at present with all the factory loads available. All that said a 10mm will never be a .41 Magnum and a 9x19 will never be a .357 Magnum no matter how it’s spun. Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us! 👍❤️👏
True, but, my question is if you can have a .357 Magnum or .41 Magnum...why bother with the 9mm pr 10mm in a revolver. Maybe I'm not smart enough but, I can't make it make logical sense in my head.
@@Wastelandman7000 Doesn't make any sense to me either. I don't know why this is even "a thing" right now, this fad for chambering revolvers in rimless cartridges. Historically, the only reason revolvers with rimless ammo existed was for logistics: a government or state had tons of rimless ammo of a given chambering laying around, or with production ramped up, and not enough autoloader pistols to serve; so a contract goes out for revolvers to chamber the rimless ammo. That's the only reason we saw things like the M1917 and moon clips. When it came to things such as the French contract for what would end up being the S&W 547, it was logistics probably mixed with some political concerns, like not wanting cops running around with autoloaders. There may be people who are part of an organization that provides logistical incentive, like a police department. If the department or agency will furnish service rounds for "free," then having a backup revolver in that same service round could make a lot of sense. In terms of private individuals though, this logisitical issue really doesn't exist. The economies of scale just aren't there for any one person, and it's not cost effective. So these revolvers by S&W, Ruger, et al are not for government contracts, and they don't allow individuals to circumvent governmental orders or mandates. In many countries, for example, the citizens cannot legally chamber pistols in military cartridges, such as 9mm NATO or 45 ACP: these revolvers do the exact opposite of that, precluding their use by individual private citizens in such places. And again, despite people saying things such as, "well 9mm is a lot cheaper than 38 Special," the reality is, no, at the individual level they are not cheaper to a large enough degree, relative to how much ammo a person will buy and shoot in their pistol, to be cost effective. In terms of performance costs, or efficiency, they make even less sense. For example, going from a 357 Mag platform to a 9mm Luger one. There may be other reasons to switch, like wanting to divest from a revolver completely; but cost shouldn't be one of them, sticking with a revolver, because what monies may be saved from going from 357 Mag to 9mm entail a large performance performance loss, while refusing to shoot 38 Special in the revolver instead gets back to the economy of scale issues. So I don't get this fad, at all. As backup pieces, a rimless chambering in a revolver may make good sense. However, private citizens are not running around with battle rattle on and like 130 rounds of ammo during the course of their daily activities, so a backup revolver in an actual revolver chambering with some spare ammo on the body should be sufficient. If the revolver is the primary carry for the person, there's even less reason to go with a rimless chambering, because there is no rimless autoloader primary to provide backup for! Furthermore, many of these new revolvers are not practical backup pieces anyway. They have four to six inch barrels, are heavy, and fitted with accroutementa like overly large grips or tapped for optics. So what is going on? Why in the name of all that is good would someone want a full belt pistol, like a 40 ounce S&W with a 4.25" inch barrel, as a revolver chambered in 10mm Auto? 9mm revolvers with 6" barrels? Red dot sights? Lol.
@@Wastelandman7000 As I have already offered there are just as many, if not more, factory ammunition offerings for the 10mm Auto and the 9x19 compared to the .357 and .41 Magnums at present. If you do not reload then the auto pistol cartridge in a revolver starts to have appeal, especially if you prefer a revolver in the first place. No, this would not be my first choice as I reload and have an accumulation of both .357 and .41 caliber revolvers already. That said it may appeal to more casual shooters.
I just don’t like auto cartridges in a revolver. The only exception for me that I can think of is a 1917 in .45acp. That said the only reason that exists are due to weapons shortages in ww1 so it is actually a historicity accurate piece not something trivial.
I honestly don't see any point in the 10MM cartridge in a revolver. The cartridge headspaces on the case mouth and doesn't have a rim. This is fine , actually desirable in a semiautomatic pistol but there are much better choices for revolvers. Just my personal opinion. 👍
@Wastelandman7000 There is a revolver that I'm interested in. A Ruger Blackhawk convertible with two cylinders. One for 357 Magnum and another for 9MM. I've always kinda wanted one of those for cheap plinking. For serious business such as feral hogs, I would use 357 Mag. One revolver that can shoot three different cartridges appeals to me after living through a few ammunition shortages. I wouldn't want a dedicated 9MM revolver, but I do wear a Beretta M9 everywhere I go, so I've always got 9MM on hand, and it's plentiful.
When it comes to dangerous toothy heavy critters I look at it like the old car builders, there is no replacement for displacement. Like John Linebaugh said “ I like big bullets not big guns”. Autoloaders are excellent for social settings, and while I like the 10 mm it might have a bit more in depth conversation than I would like in certain circumstances.
I want a Ruger gp100 3” 10mm but mainly to shoot through about 1500 rounds of .40s&w that I have laying around. It would be a fine gun to tote around town but why would I when I can carry 7 rounds of .357 magnum which is in my opinion a more versatile cartridge in a similar power range. Great video!
I guess this old Alabama boy is just old school. I'm talking about me. I love the old ways. Big believer in " If it ain't broke don't fix it." I love single action revolvers, lever action and single shot rifles. I went to the 45 Colt cartridge many years ago and ain't looked back. I can load it from mild to wild according to the firearm. It'll get the job done.
Tanfoglio makes a strong , reliable 10mm semi auto if you ever want a 10 auto. My long slide 6 inch hunter is awesome. Haven't taken any critters with it, i prefer my bow👍
Nice video mr. plowboysghost! As you know when putting those auto loads in a revolver, especially with hot loads, you need to check for “crimp creep” with different ammo or loads which is its own challenge. Agree, just get a big revolver caliber with a big bullet, the right tool for the right job. “John Wick this bear” LOL. Thanks, Sir!
EXACTLY. There will be less power due to cylinder gap in a 10mm revolver. That's why most revolver cartridges are longer. The concept is like making a .44 mag 1911. Autoloader cartridges for autoloader only here.
I can’t agree more. Auto calibers are neutered compared to revolver calibers. I like them both …but there is a difference. I can’t ever see a personal use for a revolver in an auto caliber.
I have a pre model 26 S&W 1950 45 ACP revolver, and a Smith & Wesson 646 PC in 40 cal revolver. Point is., I don't shoot either. They are just a collector items. Auto cartridges in a revolver were mainly to get thru war times in a pinch.
Man, I do love a strong opinion, especially when it comes to relevant subjects like this. Rimmed, especially magnum cartridges rarely show off in semi autos for a reason.
I built a 10mm on a ruger new model blackhawk. Loved the gun at first could shoot really hot rounds out of it. The gun was reliable never had any problems with it. After a while i realized the gun was better than the cartridge. I can only push the 10mm so far. The gun was better than the cartridge. Glad i built it i gave it to my oldest son. Still enjoy shooting when me and him get together. I wouldnt build another just for what you stated a heavy gun that holds 6 shots. Still cool tho just to be able to say i built it. Son thinks its cool that his dad built it. Good video plowboy.
@@plowboysghost ya but honestly it was kinda a waste. A strong action like that was made for a more powerful cartridge. All these guys talking like the 10mm is as destructive as a nuclear war head are turning me off the cartridge. 10mm is a good cartridge but it's not a 44 mag or a 454 casull. Trying to act like like it is turns me off.
I would like to get a 9mm revolver simply because I like revolvers and 9mm is pretty easy to get around where I am. it's cheaper to shoot then 357 Mag even though I like the 357 a lot. But at the moment I just buy ammo off the Shelf so that influences my choices a lot. I wouldn't choose a 9mm for defense in the woods though. I only really shoot Targets. It is a bit worrying to me that everything Comes in 9mm now because if we're ever in a Shortage situation the 9mm is going to dry up pretty fast. seems just a few years ago they were making Guns in a lot more Calibers.
I do have to say that I love my S&W PC Thunder Ranch 325 .45acp and my Ruger Match Champion GP100 10mm. While I don't think I would want 10mm in a revolver as large as a S&W 610 or Ruger Super Redhawk, the mid frame sized GP is fantastic. Some hate moonclips, I happen to love them. Jerry Miculek wouldn't have set so many speed records without moonclips. Don't get me wrong, I still love all my other traditional caliber revolvers. I think my problem lies in the fact, I love them all, lol!
Sounds wise to me. I have never owned 10 mm. I do love revolvers. My current favorite revolver is a model 13-3 with a 3-inch barrel. I do not intend to shoot at a bear with it.
10mm revolvers can make backups for 10mm autos. 9mm is fine in revolvers, especially in dual cylinder .357/9mm revolvers, simply because 9mm costs about 1/3 or 1/2 of 38 special or .357. Usually 10mm revolvers can also fire 40 S&W (moon clips). If you dont like 20, try a 40 (6 in barrel), Nice video.
@@plowboysghostI'll stick with my.45 Colt in my model 25 Smith and Wesson 4“ bbl and my own roll my owns it's only six shots and I have to reload but I'm a good enough shot that I shouldn't need more 2-3 rounds out of it to stop most anybody and anything I seldom use cast bullets in it mostly jacketed HP's I like the gold dot bullet fairly well
@@michaelnesmith7069 They've blown out the case near the feed ramp for that reason. Chuke has even did videos on it, a good while back. Pics arent too hard to find.
I haven’t tried a 610 but my 45 ACP N frame is a delight to shoot and carry. It mostly does nightstand duty though. I see the 610 as primarily a range gun that can double for home defense. I wouldn’t mind having one as I have lots of 40 that it can handle just fine
I enjoyed the video and appreciate your opinion Plowboy! I reckon the moral of the caliber debate is to each his own, different strokes for different folks, as it should be. But I do believe firearms and ammunition are similar to tools, you want to be sure you're using the right tool for the job at hand. I don't own and have never shot a 10 mm, I've been up and down the caliber ladder from the 10mm so I can only casually speak in general terms, if any, on the topic. However, my caliber of choice happens to be the 10.89mm Magnum which is effective on bears, bigfoots and on a good day T-rex's 😁😉 Take care my friend and stay safe!
A 9mm single action makes sense to me as a plinker or if I was looking to get into cowboy action shooting, because I already have pallets and pallets of 9mm.
I like a 10mm auto but in a revolver I love a 45LC capable of +P loads. My Redhawk is my favorite revolver with my Alaskan being a close second. Both being 45 caliber
10mm makes no sense in a revolver. But Delta Force loves it in a 1911! However, 9mm in a single action revolver is genius in Texas. It's cheaper to buy ammo than it is to reload 9mm. The only bears around DFW wear hoodies. Oswald went down with one 38spl LRN to the belly and 9mm is even better. But I would want at least a Freedom Arms .454 Casull for an Alabama polar bear!
If one is all you have time for then a follow up shot doesn't matter as much. As long as you connect that one shot in the right area should suffice. Not saying someone shouldn't practice follow up shots, but the first shot is the most important.
I have a 45 auto cylinder for a Cimarron Model P, but my Thoughts for the auto Cylinder were SHTF. I bought a SAA Clone for the original Cartridge and Caliber, but when I saw 45 auto cylinder I said Contingency Brass. Very seldom does the 45 auto cylinder see actual use.
Guy I worked with was out rabbit hunting and startled a hibernating grizzly. All he had was a 410 and managed to dispatch the bear with a single shot. The important thing to take away from this is not "you can kill a bear with anything" it's the only reason that man survived is the direct involvement of Jesus. If you're in bear country carry the heaviest ordinance you can.
I’m a 44 and 357 guy primarily, I do hv 1 glock 20 tho and that’s all I have in 10mm . The only way I could see a 10mm revolver making sense for me personally is if I was heavily invested in 10mm semi autos and 10mm ammo and I just wanted to have a revolver in that cartridge as well so I didn’t hv to go and stockpile another caliber I lwasn’t interested in . Also with the 10mm revolver I’d feel safer shooting some of the ultra hot +p buffulo bore or underwood , gerritt that they offer in 10mm .so if I were gonna stockpile 10mm ammo and 10mm pistols and that was gonna be my primary handgun cartridge I’d hv a 10mm revolver as well and I’d hv loaded with the hottest 10mm ammo available
Aria ballistics engineering has 305 grain 460rowland ammo. I haven't tried it. Biggest ive shot in my 460rowlands is 255 grain hardcast handloads. I have 3 460rowlands kimber custom 2,glock/lonewolf 6 inch longslide on a glock 20/21 frame and a Springfield xdm 3.8 inch compact. I like them. I have 2 desert eagles .50ae and 44mag and 2 10mms. A para longslide elite hunter 6 inch 1911 and a glock 29. I like them all but in PA you cant hunt with a semi auto pistol. I use revolvers smith n wesson460v, 629 44mag, ruger 44mag and a pietta 1873 in 357mag/9mm. I have a 9mm cylender for the pietta but i haven't shot any 9mm out of it yet. I like your channel. Keep up the videos
Let me start off saying to each its own that's why they make different women LOL. I've been a shooter and reloader for 50 plus years, the first Big Bore pistol I purchased was a 41 magnum in a Ruger Blackhawk, the second one was model 58 in 41, then I decided I wanted to buy a Smith & Wesson classic 44, then I decided I wanted a 10 mm, back then you could not even give a 10 mm away hardly, I went through a lot of 1911 10 mm not happy with them at all not reliable, so I did some research and bought a 1006 Smith & Wesson, with my experience of 10 mm that has to be the best 10mm there ever was on the market. There's no way in hell that a 10 mm would ever come close to 41 mag, when I hunt where there is bear and big cats for my protection, I pack my model 58 41 mag. I keep hearing all these people talk about carrying all this weight with a large pistols, when I muzzle load hunt I also packed my Walker for protection for bears and cat, go 8 or 9 Mi one way a day weight does not bother me. What I pack to eat and drink is just as heavy almost than my Rifle and Pistol LOL. Another semi-automatic pistol that I enjoy is a 45 Winchester Mag.
I have a SW 610 4 inch 10 mm. I've never fired 10mm through it. I fire 40sw. I have limited use of 1 hand and using preloaded clips is easier for me. I also have a 625 45acp performance center. In bear country, shotgun with slugs and a 44 mag super Blackhawk as a backup. 10mm is a bit better than a good 357 mag round.
You’re right on the money about the 10 mm revolver. Like you said you lose all the advantages that the 10 mm offers in a semi auto. As far as the 9 mm single action you see nowadays that’s because of the price of 45 colt 44 Winchester 38 Winchester ammo it allows shall we say amateur or new gun enthusiast who don’t wanna get into the hobby of reloading which I do not understand that’s what makes the hobby fun but this way, they can just go and buy cheap 9 mm and feel like they’re a cowboy shooting them guns. For me, It’s a hobby if you love the guns and you wanna shoot a single action in one of those three Calvers, I mentioned, Then you need to get into reloading That’s what makes it affordable and fun.
No 10mm revolver for me either. It's an interesting concept gun, but I'm a traditionalist when it comes to revolvers; .357 Mag... No messing around with moon clips.
As much as I like the .41 Magnum, the HKS speed loaders arent that great. TK Custom can machine .41 revolvers for moon clips which is a big improvement. The 10mm revolvers like the Smith & Wesson 610 is set up for moon clips from the beginning.
I had one for a while, it was a buck eye sports (I think) Ruger Blackhawk that had a .38-40 cylinder and a separate cylinder for 10mm, it was with the .38-40 but it went down the road, I don’t recall that I ever shot the 10mm cylinder.
Everyone is entitled to choose what they personally want as far as weapons for themselves. What causes me to get a bit rowdy is when someone tries to cram their beliefs down my throat. I just put the pencil to it and I've been shooting for 66 years. Yeah, I'm old and started at age 8. And I have my own weapons of choice. But I'll be damned if I'll force my beliefs onto anyone else. I may be old and cantankerous but it's not my place to say anything to folks unless what they're doing is dangerous. Only then will I speak up and say they're wrong. Otherwise live it up and have fun while you're still on this planet. 👍😁
@@plowboysghost Yes sir, I like the way you think. Now I don't personally do plastic pistols, but I work on those my nephew had, and my neighbor's as well. If that's what they like, ok by me. However, for every Glock my nephew has, there's a dozen steel and wood revolvers in the safe. 😉😆
I don’t think many can argue with you here Plowboy. I love 10mm but I don’t shoot it as well as 45 acp +p 255gr hardcast. So that’s the auto I carry. For horsepower I like a 44 magnum. Why would you carry a 10mm revolver? Unless you like reloading that cartridge and just use it on the range. I don’t like having to depend on moonclips in the woods

I live in bear country in the Sierras (lot of time in the northern rockies too) and have a lot of experience with bears - both hunting wild bears and dealing with nuisance bears. My 2 cents : shotgun with a slug is #1, 44 mag is second best, evertyrhing else is “Good luck brother”. You ain’t wrong brother. PS, those wild hogs you have down south are more trouble than any bear that isn’t a grizzly or a brown bear.
@@dmw3086 450 SMC is basically 45 Super, only more so. 450 SMC is externally identical to 45 ACP, but uses a case with thicker walls, stronger case web, and a small rifle primer. It can operate up to 32K PSI. A pistol rated for 45 Auto +P can fire SMC, provided case head support is sufficient. 450 SMC can either 1) propel lighter bullets, in the typical weight range of 10mm Auto, at 10mm Auto velocities, or 2) much heavier bullets than 10mm Auto, but at functionally similar velocities to the heaviest 10mm bullets, all the while of course being a fully five calibers larger. So 450 SMC provides more power for an autoloader platform than 10mm Auto, but without recourse to a radical pistol design. Unlike something such as 460 Rowland, 450 SMC can be chambered and fired in virtually any, modern-manufacture 45 Auto pistol. This makes it very intersting, because it means pistols that are of the dimension and weight of a 10mm Auto or even many 40 S&W can fire a round significantly more capable.
@LibertysetsquareJack does sound like an interesting round. But I’d assume it’s a wildcat so the number of manufacturers and the availability would be limited. And I have to take that into consideration when I think about what I personally would say is the best round. 10mm is pretty common where I am so to me it’s still the best semi auto round
If you could ever get your ammo free for practice or at a extremely good price 1.50$ a box. And one of the available ammo like that were 9mm. It did make me get a 357mag/9mm conversion Blackhawk for just such a thing
*blinks* ... *blinks again* What is the purpose of use for such a thing I wonder? I mean small game yeah, but, a carbine won't improve 9mm that much. A .357. 45LC,.41 or 44 mag would more useful and versatile. And have WAAAAAAY more thump.
I have wanted to find a single action 9mm colt clone because I can afford to shoot it. That is all. Cheapest round out there for a poor fool like me. I have no space or money to get started reloading so my choices are limited.
@@plowboysghost Yeah, would love to have another 45LC but I am an old retired guy who lives as cheap as possible. Still packing the 38 revolver I bought in 1994. Love your videos!
I have been reloading for over 50 years I have a lot of revolvers rifles and shotguns I reload for them all , my favorite type of hand gun is the single action revolver. I'm seriously thinking about getting a 9 mm or 45 ACP single action revolver in one of the two calibers. They are less expensive to buy loaded ammo for than reloading. And I don't have to pick up my brass like I do with a semi automatic.
@plowboysghost on your .45 cimmaron colts have you ever worked on them to look older than they would otherwise? If so, have you ever done a video on that process?
Lol 🤪 I'm going to test it's limits, but rest assured I have no illusion that I will raise it to holy pedestal bestowed it. For me it's simple bad eyesight, and easy to find brass 🎉. Round count is not the holy grail either Mountain man
Yep seems like the 10 mm is the latest fad on the interweb. I ain't going to tell them what to spend their money on but this old boy ain't going in that direction.
5:42 i busted out laughing lmao. John wick this bear. Hahahahaa. I agree tho like just buy a 44 mag at that point. The only real reason i could see a 10mm revolver is with heavy +p stuff that might make the Auto malfunction/jam. Even then. Spending the money on the supercharged 10mm that is equivalent to 357 target ammo. . Is stupid lol. 10mm for my glock 20. 44 mag for Colt Anaconda. Lol. And thats how it should be. Not. 10mm in my N frame smith and wesson. ^^those people who buy those. Arent playing cards with a Full Deck, if ya catch my drift.
Brother...I just commented on this, and we of are the same cloth. Could not agree more! I've had a 500 lb black bear 30 ft away from me....and my 7mm wsm was pointed at that bear....my turd stains are still my shorts. Until you have experienced this peeps don't need to comment on this. My question is how many 9mms can out perform my 7mm wsm?
To be honest i used to want a SAA clone in 9mm because i have a ton of 9mm rounds and i thought it would be wise to try and keep most of my handguns in the same caliber. But why would i want to carry a 6 shot single action revolver unless it can do something my 9mm semi auto with 12 rounds cant?
John Wick that bear! You made me Lmao when you said that. Your making a lot of sense there bud. I hope I don't have to shoot a sasquatch. They're too endangered as it is.
@@scotthappop269 I have...but I don't care for a striker gun without a manual safety. After several Glock 29's and 20's, I went with several different M&P 2.0 10's including the longer Performance Center gun . I also had a Springfield Armory xdm elite 10mm, though it didn't have a thumb safety, the grip safety suffices.
l honestly don't understand auto-pistol cartridges in a revolver. I ran across one in 9mm in a local gun store. It will ONLY function with moon clips. I was like....why? You can get a .38+p or .357 mag in about the same size and with a hell of a lot more power with the .357. And it doesn't require moon clips to function. Maybe they already have an auto in that caliber? I don't know, but it just doesn't seem reasonable to me. If you're going to buy a strong revolver, why not take advantage of that strength and get a cartridge to match? I just don't get it. I may not be the smartest man in the world but it seems to me that this is like a lot of the tacti-cool stuff and has more to do with being "in" with the "cool kids" than it does practical reasoning. But, I could be wrong I guess.
I'm a recoil junky , but a big negitory on full power .357 from a J Frame . Stupid impossible to control . Laws of physics and internal ballistics , 9x19 has way favorable Expansion Ratio in a 2 inch Revolver . A step more velocity / energy than .38 +P ( in a 2 inch Revolver) , but still with recoil that's plausible for experienced Revolver shooter . It's a legitimate niche . Not mentioned : For job related , it's not uncommon to be restricted to the Issue caliber, if not the actual Issued ammunition . 9mm revolvers will let you comply , yet still have the advantages of a Revolver.
If you don't like them then you don't like them. I can see some reason for them. A convertible Blackhawk 9mm/ 357. When i could get all the 9mm i wanted free from the county for practice. It was nice for free ammo to shoot in my sa. In a d/a full moon clips are faster than speedloaders. In the charter arms da where you dont need moon clips. A magazine makes for a quick way to reload the chambers To me as quickly as a speed strip. If you carry a snubbey as a back up and auto as the main weapon. It using the same ammo is good. Now with the 10 the 38/40 -10 mm Blackhawk seams like a ok idea. The s@w da 10 could also shoot 40. But the real interesting thing was re cutting the chambers to 10mm magnum 10 m-10-40 all in the same. Now that there is a 400L The s@w x frame 400L-10 mag- 10mm and 40 s@w seam like a interesting concept
Hey Ya'll! This doesn't have anything to do with the subject of Plowboys video. Figured this audience would likely be able to help. Just got my 686+. The rubber grips are a little too skinny and I'd like a slightly fatter grip that fills out into the palm. Any ideas?? RockOn.StayFree.
The thing with the Hogues is the pronounced finger grooves . IF your hand happens to match up with the finger grooves , they're the bee's knees . If they don't , you'll hate them .
@@BlakeHouse-j3u I like the rubber grips on my 686 but they need to be thicker to fill out the gap I feel in my palm. I happen to like the fat grip on Glocks. I can get a bear grip on them.
I had a 9mm ruger revolver at one time it was bad at bullet jump I am sure 10mm would be worse it didn’t hang around long an I said then no more auto revolvers
I have a Glock 10mm, nice gun but i usually carry a revolver in 357 magnum, no 10mm revolver for me.
I agree. I love my 10mm 1911 and I love my Model 29 44 mag. But for different reasons. Like you said, if I’m gonna carry a big heavy revolver it better have a big heavy payload.

They just need to understand that it doesn't matter what caliber revolver. It's what you want to do personally. People need stop putting their ideas in people's minds. I love the .45 Colt because that's what I want. So I don't care what someone else wants or doesn't want. It's all about personal preference?
@@andrewkelso3532 10-4! 🍻
Thanks for watching and listening to my opinion 🍻
True, but, my question is if you can have a .357 Magnum or .41 Magnum...why bother with the 9mm pr 10mm in a revolver. Maybe I'm not smart enough but, I can't make it make logical sense in my head.
@@Wastelandman7000possibly its the reliability difference. Autos are reliable these days but... lol

450 SMC woot.
@LibertysetsquareJack I’m not familiar with 450 SMC
@@cdlund2840 Thank you 🍻
@@ricktaylor5744 Brass control is a legitimate plus 👍
I wouldn't mind a nice revolver in 10mm Cowboy (AKA 38-40).

@plowboysghost on your .45 cimmaron colts have you ever worked on them to look older than they would otherwise? If so, have you ever done a video on that process?
@@RNSOutdoors I have on one. It's a 4-3/4" Cimarron Frontier I've shown in videos, including one or two on what I did to it

I always thought pistol caliber in a revolver is wrong you loose the advantage of an automatic caliber putting it in a revolver

OK. How about we call it .40 Auto Long ?
@@BlakeHouse-j3u Still sounds metric .

I never shot 10mm, and I'm fine if I never do. I've had 357 mag, 44 mag, and now I have 45 colt. I will stick to my wheel guns 🍻

@@Wastelandman7000 Thank you.
I've shot bear with 9mm hard cast Buffalo bore and I have never had to mag dump a bear lol .
i got 10mm pistol but i got 44 magnum 460 magnum & 357 maximum. i gonna get a 41 magnum. aria ballistics has great ammo.
@@kc0lif They sure seem to👍
If you don't like them then you don't like them.
A magazine makes for a quick way to reload the chambers
To me as quickly as a speed strip.
If you carry a snubbey as a back up and auto as the main weapon. It using the same ammo is good.
Now with the 10 the 38/40 -10 mm Blackhawk seams like a ok idea.
The s@w da 10 could also shoot 40. But the real interesting thing was re cutting the chambers to 10mm magnum
10 m-10-40 all in the same.
Now that there is a 400L
The s@w x frame 400L-10 mag- 10mm and 40 s@w seam like a interesting concept
