Who else just got done cussing and having a small meltdown because their string trimmer wouldn't start?
I am so angry, the thing is brand new.
Had to keep repeating to myself "don't break it. Don't break it." But I just wanna smash it to pieces. It's brand new. Was working fine earlier today, and now nothing. 🤬🤬🤬
mine is brand new as well, used it for the first week, second week wont start.
I see everybody in this reply section got a brand new one, did you use a 40:1 gasoline oil ratio in your fuel tank?
@@RammsteinLover294 yes
No better thrill in life than prepping for a job and the f-ing tool fails on you before you start😒
Exactly what just happened to me right now..
Gasoline engines are just antiquated. If you leave it sitting for longer than 7 months, then you’re gonna need to buy parts or flush the engine. They’re just trash, all around.
That damn Murphy's law!
I'm with you brother 🤣!
I know. It's like !!!!AHH!!!!
I wish I had this guys voice just for when I'm at work:))
1. Defective spark plug
2. Restricted carburetor
3. Clogged fuel filter
4. Broken recoil spring
5. Malfunctioning recoil starter
6. Clogged spark arrestor
7. Dirty air filter
Very helpful video. Short and to the point.
Excellent. God bless you. Thanks from Texas.
I used a lawn service for 15 years. Now I have more time on my hands and last year I decided to buy new lawn equipment and start doing my lawn myself to save money and get some exercise. I ran down the fuel before I put it away for the winter. I put a fuel stabilizer in my leftover fuel before the winter. Checked the filters before I started using it this spring. $1200 and one year later I have an Echo trimmer that won't start. I have put in brand new expensive pre-mixed gas and replaced the spark plug to no avail. Took it to local service shop and they are able to start it with no trouble and I am able to start it while it is warm. A week later...it is not starting again. I'm so tired of this. I did not have this much trouble with my old trimmer from a long time ago. A person shouldn't have to be a professional lawn guy to get this stuff to work.
Why did you buy a $1200 weedeater? I have been a landscaping guy for 15yrs and the basic, straight shaft, gas/mix, few hundred dollar echos are THEE best money can buy. Ive had some last yrs of commercial use and all of them generally last 2-3 before they start to show the wear and tear on their performance.
Thanks you! I threw mine in the garbage and bought a battery powered one! Never again
im going to get an electric line trimmer instead. petrol powered line trimmers are just too troublesome.
Thanks for vid

What do you do if the trimmer (Husqvarna 122c) is BRAND NEW and the fuel is a pre-mix (also Husqvarna brand)?
I went through all of the checklist items and despite nearly 50 pulls...nothing yet!
Maybe the stop engine button is engaged? Did u pump prime the fuel? Is there a safety button or lever to push with the gas trigger? Is there a sticker or something blocking the spark plug to remove or something like batteries have on new devices to block from starting? Prolly something silly like that. Did you get it running? What was it? Good luck
Throw it in the trash and purchase an electric trimmer.
This is why I’m here. I have a 122c
Thank you. Very informative
I have a husqvarna weed eater 128ld. I've replaced everything in this video with new ones, use the pre mixed oil as shown and still won't start.. any ideas?
Great video thanks!
Good vid. Thanks for posting it!
I’m bout to just start buying battery powered… so frustrating. Gas powered (anything) works so much better…WHEN it works
Would a sheered key prevent starting?
Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙏

Before, my weedeater would have problems running. So I tried to adjust the carburetor, same thing. So I cleaned it, and nothing. Replaced it, and the spark plug, now it doesn’t even start.
Mine was running fine. My fuel tank cracked... so I got a new one. Then it wouldnt start... so cleaned the carb.. nope.. new carb. Air filter..lines...primer..filter..gaskets..spark plug... checked for spark.✅ fresh premixed fuel... STILL WONT START. 😤😠🤬😩
Thank for the video!
Mine does start but won’t stay running. Once i pull the throttle, it dies.
What could be the fix? Seems like a carburetor issue...
Thanks!
Throw it in the trash and buy a battery powered one. That's what I ended up doing.
@@Matt-tx5cb Sounds eco friendly
@@Matt-tx5cb mate, the same here. Instead of pulling the fucking cord a billion times, it wouldn’t start. So I bought a battery one and it works at the press of a button.
You will need to adjust the carbonara to it sounds to me
It sounds like the carburator doesn't get enough fuel to air mixture, try tuning the fuel mix screw
Gasoline powered equipment is so unreliable. People tout its superiority, but the parts, upkeep, and overall failing parts make it laughably obsolete.
You are the embodiment of the nerd emoji
Thanks
Replace every part, or just buy a new trimmer and save hours of futility.
That's a consumerist mindset at least learn how to diagnose, and then buy another one.
'Low Compression' wasn't mentioned - This will also prevent starting
I've got a hyper tough 25cc weed eater start and idle perfect but wont riv up or take gas help please
I'm late i know... you've checked the throttle cable is opening the carburetor valve, maybe? they can come lose. i'm not sure sorry
Check carburetor maybe
I can clip my yard with hedge trimmers faster than the time it takes to fix the snipper.
I think they design these things to fail so you would have to purchase another one. I just got a new Craftsman last year, and now I'm having issues starting the thing!! I absolutely HATE these things!!
👍 it was helpful for me lol
Let's see the trimmer won't start - you probably weren't meant to do it this weekend. Get the kid next door to do it.
Straight up laughed at this. Not often I laugh at comments. Bravo and thank you.
I have bought a new machine and used only few times. Now it doesn't start. I'm gonna throw this shit to garbage.
I can start it when It is cool. But when I run for a hour and stop it, i cannot start again until wait for some hours.
on off switch
Bought a brand new one and it wont start
Put gas in it
So you’re saying I should just buy a new unit lol
This video tells nothing that people don't already know. The real purpose of this video is the ad for the website.
I didn't know any of it
Totally agree.
I didn't know any of it either
Nope...didn’t know this
i only knew 37.84% of it, the rest was a complete mystery
Just buy another one
