My definition of happiness is watching this. I could watch it all day.
Beautiful. Mozart would be thrilled.
Happy Birthday to Kiri Te Kanawa. Amazing voice
As a German I can say that they sing really well.
i can not even handle how good she sounds here
and how perfect they were
Thank you Dame for bringing back so much memory of these lovely moments where we were much younger.
lose that ludicrous "Dame" stuff
@@Marcel_Audubon Oh shut up!
Wunderschön. Und gute deutsche Aussprache.
Deliciosa música y voces
jesus fucking christ, what an exceptional performance! I have tears!!
Best version. Clear dictation and perfect pitch on every note. Thanks for sharing.
Quite simply the greatest love song ever!
You are right, Patrick, and the most important one. There will never be peace on earth without peace and equality between men and women who respect each other on a higher human level. I must always think of another famous song - Bread and Roses - which says "The rising of the women means the rising of the race". I like this rendition because Thomas Allen makes clear that the simple-minded Papageno understands only by bits and pieces that his longing for a little wife means more than to have fun. He understands that he and Tamina are on their way to find their own real love. They learn from each other by respecting each man and each women. ---The English translation says "man and woman and woman and man reach out to God's will". I would be happy if all those who have no idea of the heavenly reign, would feel by this song that only Love gives dignity to a human society.
Thank you so much for this, it really made my day! I’ve been looking for years for a video clip of Sir Tom as Papageno; I was beginning to think it didn’t exist and even better that it should be with Kiri Te Kanawa (the ultimate opera duo).
This has to be played on daily basis.
I forgot what a powerful instrument of beauty Te Kanawa's voice was.
Bonjour merci pour cette belle musique relaxante ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of the most beautiful duets ever composed. Beethoven wrote 7 variations for piano and cello.
Unbelievably wonderful - every note and every intention in place. A thing of beauty.
God, they were beautiful.
Still are!
Thanks, loved the work, *& your “Art is Great Together......”, really beautiful back, and forth.. the voices & Emotion/thoughts, etc.
Bravi! Two great lyric theatre singers of tremendous talent. Lovely!
What a gem... Kiri in her prime...
Please upload more
How beautiful! Please search and listren to Dame Te Kananwa's videos. Her beautiful fullsome voice carried me to opera.
Wonderful!!!
perfect!
Lovely!
Very clear and good german.
fanrastic thank you
Miraculous music. One of the most perfect three minutes in art. The sound of love itself. "On me your voice falls as they say love should, like an enormous Yes"- Larkin
Who are the 11 people who gave this a thumbs down? Are they mad?
Gorgeous..
Exquisite!
Bonjour quelles belles voix ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
belissima!!
Lesley Garrett's TV series on BBC2 "Lesley Garrett Tonight" had a similar format to this but it ran for 4 years. She did this aria with Michael Ball (see Lesley Garrett and Michael Ball - The Magic Flute).
This is relativity early Kanawa and prime Thomas. His German is to the manner born while the lovely diva is not as comfortable--a pity since she sang three of Stauss roles--a stimme diva.
Wery nice.
Super
Mozart 4Ever🎹🎶🎵😀🌠💕💕💕👍✅
Epic
Arrrggghhhh! Could either of those voices BE any sexier??
'The Night Porter'.....

Pamina and Papagena
Pamina and Papageno
"A féérfi szívét...szikra éri..." "Az asszony dolgaa érte élni..." Nesze neked egyenrangúság...feminizmus nuku...De a dallam gyönyörű!
Kiri is the only soprano who never, ever .... shrieks.
Superb as always. However am I wrong in thinking that perhaps Kiri's voice is too powerful for this. Needs a sweeter voice such as Lucia Popp's.
It is also how Te Kanawa is using her voice. But I agree that Popp is well nigh perfect!
Both Popp and Te Kanawa are perfect as Pamina, each to her own voice and style.
PAMINA
A los hombres que sienten el amor
nunca les falta un buen corazón.
PAPAGENO
Compartir los dulces impulsos
es el primer deber de las mujeres.
PAMINA, PAPAGENO
Alegrémonos del amor,
únicamente por él vivimos.
PAMINA
El amor endulza todas las penas;
todas las criaturas lo alaban.
PAPAGENO
Él da sabor a nuestros días,
actúa en el ciclo de la Naturaleza.
PAMINA, PAPAGENO
Su excelsa finalidad es bien clara,
no hay nada más noble
que una mujer y un hombre.
El hombre y la mujer,
la mujer y el hombre
alcanzan la esfera de la divinidad.
