      hello even I made the top with double crochets, the pattern doesn't change much just the number of rows will increase quite a bit. So, you can follow the same pattern for the neck and arms, just check the length and increase the rows accordingly ( hope this helps someone) absolutely love the top! thank you~

      @@SayaKisaragi18 I can't really remember. I will have to see if I still have my notes, but I believe I made the top to waist length or about 19". I'm an older woman so I try to keep my tops at least 19" long. I do know that the oversized XL top I made at 24" length. For the small, 16", and the medium was 17". I tried the smaller sizes on my granddaughter then had her reach her arm straight up to make sure the bottom of the top was still below her tatas.

    I appreciate how clear and complete your instructions are. I do have a question, though. The pattern instructs us to count the chain 2s and chain 3s at the beginning of each round as stitches for our stitch counts. However, when you join the rounds with a slip stitch, you skip over the chain 2 or 3 and slip stitch directly into the first stitch after that. Does that mean that we lose a stitch every round? Thank you!

    • @ABoCStudio
      @ABoCStudio  Год назад +3

      Hi, great question! The answer is No, we don't lose any stitch at all. You see, after slip-st to join the round in the first dc/tr stitch we would tighten-up the Slip-stitch, the sl-st after you tighten will be fixed in place which is on top of the c2/c3 of previous round, while at the same time you'd also see the stitch you sl-st still has an available space (where you will crochet in at the end of the round, the V on top of that stitch). So basically by the end, in that very first dc/tr that we are talking about there are: a slip-st that's no longer visible because we tighten it up and a last stitch of the round!
      I hope this helps ✨and don't hesitate to ask me further if you need 💕

    Thank you! i was able to complete the tutorial for XL with less than one skein of mandala sparkle (two colors were left ) and when i finished the skein i had the perfect size XL crop top . i appreciate how the front is shaped it makes for a perfect nursing top to go overs tank tops so i dont have to keep whipping my tatas out to feed,,

    I finally got down to adding the length. I'm surprised at how blind I am. I just can't seem to find my stitches and I've lost a few along the way. Sometimes I'm not sure if I'm crocheting in a stitch or not. But anyway, I probably should have stayed with the small. The top lies low on her shoulder blades, and gapes in the back. So that she can wear it until she grows into it, I made a crochet cord to thread through the upper stitches to loosely gather the neck. I plan on making this again. It really becomes her, but I have to say that next time I will be following your pattern for the alternating tc and dc. It's much prettier. Thanks again.

    thank you so much for the tutorial! i made 5 tops so far and non of them fit like an actual top. not this one! im so happy with how it looks and fit. for anyone else making this: my bust is 35-36 (M-L according to size chart) and after sizing down to a 4.5mm hook using #3 100% cotton yarn (very little stretch), the M i made still came out big. make sure to visually compare your tension to the video (i can't get my stitches to look as tight even with a 4.5mm) and put the top on as you go. i finished the top in a little over a day (8 hours of continuous crochet max). i plan on making an S in with 5mm hook and see how it turns out

      @ABoCStudio I am actually really loving your pattern. I already finished the small size for my sister birthday gift which was supposed to be for November but I gave it to her early, bec I finished it so fast. Your pattern is easy to follow along with the video help too. And I've already made me a top in medium size using 4#weight yarn red heart granny yarn. I love it. I'm planning to do more.

    You are very easy to understand and the pattern is easy to follow as well, unfortunately I have been counting and counting for row 4 size M and have done the same thing over and over again, ripping up several rows and redone them to make sure I have the right amount of stitches, but I keep getting and counting to 112 Rows for some reason, any idea as to what I am doing wrong? I’d really appreciate the help❤

  • @pamelaferguson7766

    Started a 2nd one. The first one was pretty, but too big and I made it all in hdc. This second one is made to pattern. Fits her perfectly, except for it's really big around the rib cage. I'm making it a couple of inches longer than the pattern, and if needed, I'll add a tie or sew in elastic at the bottom. This one turned out much nicer. Again thank you for the pattern and the tutorial. It really has that 70's vibe, and I think I'll add to that with a pair of crocheted bell bottoms🙂
