Andrew Hubberman’s new skin health video mentioned how important copper is for the skin. I always love him! I did try the ordinary’s copper a few years ago. Went through 2 bottles but didn’t see any difference in my skin. Switched to Vit C and noticed more improvement. May try one of these since I do want to include it but only if I see something noticeable. Even just texture or brightening would make me rebuy.

Hi Penn, I just started using the Maelove peptide squad a couple of weeks ago. Glad to hear you’re giving it your stamp of approval. I would love a follow up video on peptides in general. I ordered COSRX “The 6 Peptide Skin Booster” per your suggestion. I’m loving it so far and would love to hear how you incorporate it into your routine.

I’ve been looking at the Maelove for quite honestly years, so it’s good to hear this positive review. To be honest, even though the NIOD is watery, I find it to be sticky as it dries down. Plus, the high price has had me looking for alternatives for a while. Right now I’m not using any kind of copper peptides, except for what they have in the needleless serum. Thanks for this Penny!

My nutrition is this is a nutshell:
I focus on protein- I try to get 120-140 grams a day. Because that’s a lot it naturally limits carbs. I’m not trying to limit carbs but it just happens (I still eat carbs is what I am trying to say).
I’ve given up alcohol completely (for several months now) and no added sugar at all. Totally good with fruits and natural sugar.
I lift heavy weights (in fact I am sitting on a leg press between sets answering this comment lol) and try to get 10-12k steps a day (doesn’t always happen, but I try).
I supplement collagen, magnesium, vitamin D and C among other things (those are biggies).
Huge difference in the inflammation in my body since quitting drinking and sugar ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for your sweet words!!

Great video! In my own experience I had been using Retinal one night copper peptides the next. Once I got Tretinoin my skin improved dramatically much more than just retinal. I figured now I'll have even more collagen and when I ran out of the copper peptides I thought it's so expensive never mind. After a few months of not using it, my breakouts were not hailing as quickly. pores were enlarging. Pigment came back. my skin began to sag. I realized the copper peptide's really work wonders for me. I bought the ordinary and put a few drops into the CosRX 6 peptide booster together every other night. All those problems reversed in just a couple months time!

  • @chickenjools

Interestingly, Dr Shereene Idriss says we shouldn’t use Copper peptides and vitamin C together because the copper peptides can oxidise the vitamin C. So it’s not that it causes a problem, it’s just that the vitamin C doesn’t work. She recommends using one am and the other pm. BTW I really love your channel. I am currently binge watching your microneedling playlist as I have just a bought a microneedle pen and want to use it safely and with the best outcome. Your knowledge is fantastic. Thank you. 😊

Okay I must admit my Niod copper peptides is one of my favorite products to put on my face because its literally like water and my mature oily skin loves it! I will say though I wish Niod came with something other than a dropper style bottle. Yet another wonderful video with such fantastic information ❤️

I bought the Niod CAIS3 during their 50% off sale back in November and haven’t used it yet. It seems really finicky as the product page indicates that it conflicts with acids, vitamin c, antioxidants, retinoids…stuff that are in so many products these days. I use tretinoin at night for acne and I use vitamin C in my AM routine so I can’t seem to find a place for this copper peptide serum.

I hate dropper bottles too!!! I always buy some pumps during the NIOD slowvember sale to use on the dropper bottles. They fit any standard 30ml bottle, like Ordinary, Timeless, even Medik8. I wish other companies, like MaeLove would offer pumps.

@mkryu I personally use my Niod Cais 3 on the nights I use my acid, but after washing the acid off, then using a toner that's pH balanced for skin and waiting another few minutes for my skin pH to return to normal. If you use peptides immediately after an acid, they can be broken down. I use my acid mask twice a week, so that's twice a week I use my copper peptides.

Great comparison video. I don't really like Maelove as a company, though, because a few years ago I asked what kDa size of sodium hyaluronate they used in their HA serum bc if it's very very small it can cause inflammation (the data and research on this is searchable), and I received a very curt dismissive answer that they don't disclose that information. I rolled my eyes so hard at that response because literally every other company I asked answered without an issue whatsoever because they understand why I was asking. Anyway, Maelove is off my list; there are so many great alternatives to what they sell.

I used Dr. Pickart's Copper Peptides (CP serum, Super CP Serum and CP creams) in my early thirties - I'm now 50 - and I loved them. They were extremely effective at reducing lines, plumping skin and retaining hydration. I stopped using them only because here in Europe they are not easily available

Anyone's thoughts on Geek and Gorgeous Power peptides. They have the encapsulated copper and this is from their website:
0.001% X50 Antiaging (Copper Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-14): An encapsulated copper peptide with a high-tech delivery system - the copper peptide is encapsulated in a biocompatible polymer shell and outside this shell sits another peptide (Heptapeptide-15 Palmitate) with a strong affinity to the fibroblast receptors, guiding the copper peptide to the collagen producing fibroblast cell, promoting the gene expression of both collagen and elastin, resulting in wrinkle reduction and increased elasticity.
    Thanks

So my Dermelect night (sleep serum) WAS just the sleep serum and Drmtlgy soothe and recovery 1-2 nights a week. I’ve changed that only in that I am using a dedicated pigment inhibitor then the sleep serum then soothe and recovery sometimes is sleep serum then dedicated pigment inhibitor then soothe and recovery (depends on the pigment inhibitor consistency). This is typically once a week right now bc I am using Biologique Recherche p50 1970 in the morning most days and I don’t want to over exfoliate. ❤️
