    The Nasuverse is just on another level man, only other person that's on par with Nasu is Tolkien. These 2 have just actually functionally created an actual universe with damn near as much detail as our own if not more 😭😭😭also amazing videos man I love when you do breakdown/explanation/review videos like this, keep up the good work 👍

      It's probably the only fictional verse I'm actively interested in learning more about and seeing everything tie together. It is so interesting how it goes pretty in depth with not just base level magic, but also how magic can be made up of or influence abstract concepts.
      Thank you, it means a lot! I will continue to do my best!

      I would add Kazuma kamachi to the list. If you haven't read the a certain magical index light novels, they are on part with fate stay night in terms of both world building and plot.

      @@danielgrezda3339 I have read Toaru, I’m a big fan I’d say Kamachi is definitely getting there but he hasn’t reached the level Tolkien and Nasu have in terms of overall content. He's absolutely getting there, in terms of world building, plot, philosophy/design and power system he's definitely on par with them for sure tho👍

    One thing I really love about early and overall mainline Nasuverse magic is how it seems technical but really just purely "heart" at the core. As in yes there is a magic system but when the plot demands a breakthrough in plot to deliver a message or a characterization, it will deliver. That heart is something I just cannot find in FGO or some of the various spin-offs that deep dive into the magic system. I know that a lot of people love having constructed lore or a heavy magic system that forces its characters to abide by, but it really loses that romantic factor of magic in a modern setting. That magic while slowly being replaced and forgotten, always has its place and is forever changing. Ironically that message is delivered perfectly in Umineko but in an entirely different context and core message.

    • @NeNeiSan
      @NeNeiSan  Год назад +19

      That's a really interesting way to look at it, and I have to agree. I too, am all for using magic in that way, especially in an urban fanatsy where the setting is more relatable and the character's conflicts can hit closer to home. Yeah, FGO is more on the technical side of the Magecraft world, but there are some instances where that heart lies. Lostbelt 6 is a great example of that despite being a mostly-fantasy setting. Nasu hits a good balance of depth and logic to magic, but also bending it's limits to convey his desired message.
      i see what you mean, Umineko really did handle it's own idea of magic beautifully!

He said it any other servant who at least master one thing would have been able to defeat him Gilgamesh possess abundance of phantasm but never mastered one and bout he decided to use enuma elish it was too late he was defeated by his own arrogance. The were duality fakers in ability shirou capable of trace and projecting replica of phantasm and gilgamesh having a collection of others phantasm he can call upon. Never thought about until my father enlightened me that shirou had to be the one to defeat gilgamesh because they both were the same character as gilgamesh called him a faker Gilgamesh is no better. Sorry is this text is a little messy or hard to follow as questioned if needed. @@katlafae9487 I have no problem about Shirou vs Gilgamesh. The answer have already been spelled out by the characters themselves: "Always one step ahead'.
      What is not spelled out is how Gilgamesh survive the mud that have the mechanic of dissolve the body and taint the soul? Like it check the personality before tainting the soul or something? And if you are arrogance then it give you a new body instead?
      Or how the prototype, as in the newly made invention that haven't been tested or developed being stronger than the later version just because ....nah, who am I kidding? because they need to wank Gil.
      Or how Gate of Babylon rank is E to A++ because it's the rank of the treasure inside...except Ea which is S rank also in there, conveniently be brought out right when he need it, with no background on the weapon whatsoever?
      Oh yeah, how Caliburn blast through Heracles 5 lives at once too.

    I’ve always wanted a video like this. Examining how cool and creative the concepts and magic systems of the Nausuverse are from a more outside perspective. I’d love more of this, though I’m not entirely sure how you’d do it without just becoming another lore channel. Not that I’d complain about another great lore channel to watch; that’s cool too.

    I think that some basics of future nasuverse we can extract/predict even from such 'scifi' animes as NGE and Lain. Many concepts were refined inside japanese pop-culture for a long time, including Schumann's resonance etc. Many things in nasuverse are in fact very common in New Age circles and gnostic movements.
    Some concepts even exist simultaneously in Fgo, Honkai-verse from China and New Age movements, such as the "resistance to civilization" and cycle of destruction.
