@@stebo5562 That's very true as especially for graphics you need some seriously quick, high bandwidth RAM but it would still be cool to see an APU doing 4.9 to 5GHz with its graphics sitting there at like 2100-2200MHz running benchmarks reliably. Besides, you could always overclock the snot out of some highly binned B-die RAM and up the numbers a little bit. it wouldn't be anywhere near as good as running, say HBM or GDDR6 on it but it'd be better than stock memory.

Honestly, I don't think AMD should have released these APUs. With all the RX 500 series GPUs still in the channel, they would have been better served with a cheaper CPU only option as it would have helped more to clear the channel of the 500 series cards.
A more in depth analysis of the subject of the competition, including AMD's own 3400G, 2400G and 2200G, with benchmarks (for some reason I can't find any benchmarks of Intel's iGPUs without a dedicated graphics card) would have been more impressive, but it's still a nice video. Here's hoping that AMD realizes that there actually is a market for higher-end APUs. ;)

My 3400G is waiting for my at home, but I played with a 2200G for a week and it OC to 4.0ghz, 1740mhz iGPU, and on my 3400CL16 RAM was actually not doing bad. Hitting 60+FPS CS:GO at 1080p mostly high settings, Fortnite 47 FPS average at 1080p mostly high settings, and Apex Legends mixed medium at 1080p 45+FPS.
Thank you
I love the enthusiasm and honesty. Thanks for the video!
Would this throttle a GPU like a GTX1070
because if not then it would be a good starting CPU on the AM4 platform.
No get a ryzen 5 1600 its around the same price but much better.
@@herroberbesserwisser7331 ryzen 5 2600 on sale here for 105 euros new.
get a ryzen 5 2600
Happy to hear u'r happy with it , putting one in an MSI B450 Max ( hope not to need 17 bios updates ) don't really game or plan to OC anything , using Blender & Unreal Engine & simple video editing n GIMP. Hope to try my first Crucial 500g SSD , after years of HDDs , that should be a blast. Thanks for the time & insight
Best sponsor spot EVER. I am a fan
Amazing. Was looking for a great review and you did it. I'm gonna use this in my first build. Was gonna get a R5 1600 but it doesn't come with a internal graphics.
Good Video! I was surprised too why almost nobody is reviewing this CPU. But currently for around $100 the 2400G is the way to go, it costs only $109!
At 2:29 u can see that for 9$ more u do get more threads but less cache and same igpu frequency
Loving the new sponsor guy😂
that feeling you get when planning a video on 3400g ,and then realise hardware unboxed uploaded his 5 hrs earlier ..........................
Steve didn't overclock, so his 3400G review is pretty trash tbh.

The next APUs will have Navi, and Zen 2.

Want the best performance get decent RAM something 3400+. These APUs love faster RAM.
What this guy said^
Aim for 3600CL16 or 3200CL14, it’s certainly more expensive but the performance gains will be pretty significant
They exchanging the 2666 for 3200CL15. They just fidnt have stock so shipped it with 2666 till stock arrives.
Anyone else this line of cpus and see the crazy high voltages? Can't tell if it's the cpu or my asrock board
@@joescalon541 Ill try have a look when I get PC to sisters place and see what mine are. I have updated everything I can currently. Will only be able to tell in 2weeks.
That's great that there is a viable cpu that provides a way to play games for budget restricted gamers. I'm buying this for a home server but, nice to know it could play cs go if I wanted to.
thank you for this list, i took a leap and bought this cpu after seeing this video although i know its a little bit late now :)
Thank you for this video! An over clocking guide would be helpful!
0:20 I have that same card in my pc, its from the 700 series. I'm using the 770
Same, I have a spare too.
I just bought one! Can’t wait to try it out because I’m too broke for a real graphics card
how does it run
I just built my daughter a computer today with this cpu. She is just playing Roblock and Raft and games like that. I did install my old nvidia 960 in it. I got this apu just in case the 960 ever dies. So i have not seen what the apu can do but i feel better just knowing its in there. As for the CPU itself it's great and way faster than the old grama comp she was playing on :)
UFDTech: *Reviews gen 3 cpu*
Also UFDTech: *Holds up 2nd gen box in thumbnail*
?
Lalala Lilili Look in the lower left of the box in the thumbnail, it says 2nd gen. According to the title of the video and the information on the cpu he shows it is 3rd gen Ryzen, not 2nd gen.
Well, 3200g is using zen+ (2th gen zen), I don't think the writing on the box is wrong
@@vinyl7232 Huh thats really strange how they listed it like that then if it's still using 12nm. Was the 2200g the same way?
2200G used first gen Ryzen. 14nm.
this guy took that sponsor section to a whole new level, love it

Really great video...amazing how the 3200 can do this...i know a 3400 video is coming , cant wait to see what that holds😎
I'm happy with AMD being recognized and all these days and things can only get better for us consumers, but I feel like they launched these parts to capitalize on the recent goodwill. Why would they name these as 3xxx series processors when they're not Zen 2? I mean, they could've gone with 2200GX or 2200GK or something.
On 2:25,what the Rx stand for??? Thank you.
Radeon X
Better value than the 3400G IMO, unless you plan to upgrade the gpu down the road, 4 extra threads might last you longer.
but that 50 dollars gets you 4 extra threads and a better cooler...
@@philippengl2342 based on current Amazon prices I would pick 3200G for extreme budget gaming, 2200G for I just need a video out CPU and 3400G for "I can afford 150 but not 300 for cpu/gpu combo". 2400G at 120 is easily being put classed by 3200G.
What is the EXACT display driver you are using? Are you running the games via HDMI?
So what was in this build? As when I see other use this they don't get the same results. They get a lot less for some reason..

Hi man thanks for the video!
Quick question: I want to buy/build a PC, what CPU and GPU do I need for running GameCube Dolphin Emulator at 4k resolution?
Surprise Reece really got me. I love it!
I LOVE THIS. But I just this very evening received my Ryzen 3900X and my ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero. I'm looking forward to zero peace of mind. I WELCOME new-adopter trials and tribulations. That said, as a huge fan of Iron Maiden, I'm looking forward to cranking their album, Piece of Mind. Also, I am drunk.
@tk maou I know dick about Linux, sorry. But I grok. STILL I FORGE AHEAD BECAUSE AWESOME!!!
Right now I use this ryzen 3 3200g together with my very own old GPU which is the Nvidia GeForce 8400gs 256mb. It also work but I need your suggestion guys if it is okay?
Rip that old Nvidia card out of your system, the iGPU on your 3200G is way faster.
I already did that bro. So 4GB 2666MHZ ram is it good for ryzen 3?
@@itsjothan These ryzen chips benefit from faster RAM. 3200g supports up to 2933Mhz, but 2666 will work of course. I would get at least 8GB in dual channel, so two dimms 4GB + 4GB.

Hey I have ryzen 3200g with 4*2 gb ram, can I play AAA games on 720p low-medium settings? And will it work smooth?
Sure overclock and downclock but don expect 60 frames
I've done several builds (3) for young fambly members using the 2400G, and was fairly impressed with those. I'm more interested in the 3400G than I am in the 3200G. Hopefully, you will do a review on it in the future?
Well got my 3400G and my RAM all tuned up. System at 4.2Ghz, 1800mhz iGPU, and 3400CL16 RAM. Average at 1080p 68.6FPS Apex Legends high textures mostly low everything else, 129.7FPS CS:GO High everything but shadows, and 57.7 Fortnite high everything but shadows and AA. So far minimum 55% improvement over 2200G at 4.0Ghz, 1700mhz iGPU, and 3400CL16 RAM. Apex Legends was the largest boost at 88% better performance with same settings.
why didn't you specify the cooling solution used for the overclock? Seems like on obvious omission?
Yep, the price of the aftermarket cooling solution hurts this build, if you're planning to Oc it to the limit. but a cheap 212 CoolerMaster would do I think.
I still rock the 2200G..good enough for 4k gaming for older games like ac brotherhood, might consider oc a bit and wait for the navi apu for better ipc and overall good jump on the igpu, just put a hyper 212 evo inside and ur good to go
please help sis 🙏 why my Ryzen 3 3200g on GPU Z only reads 64bit bus width, what is wrong? the motherboard that I use asrock a320m-hdv r4 is an effort that I have made to update the motherboard bios to the latest version also the latest adrenaline driver but still on gpuz it only reads 64bit, please reply please sis thank you
I have been waiting for someone to compare the CPU performance of the 3200G and 3400G to other ryzen CPUs, like the first gen and second gen to see the difference in performance
There's also the option of an A320 motherboard if you're not looking to overclock and that's dirt cheap.
How well does that run on ark survival evovled ? i haven't found a video yet that talks about ark and performance of that cpu
That's a great improvements, I hope your son loves his computer
I'm thinking about getting the 2200g but if I have to play games at the lowest I'm not doing that but for older games at high and emulators then yes. Also my GPU doesn't do freesync and my brother uses my PC all the time so thinking about building another PC.
A lot 2200g used for the same money as 200ge, around $50
This is a great option if you now have everything you need except CPU and GPU and you're waiting for next gen parts.
im able to run RE2 remake at max settings with an average of 70fps and 1080p on this thing. its amazing. also have an RX 580 tho so maybe that makes a difference.
Interesting to see the iGPU was able to hit higher than I initially thought. What were you able to push the memory to? Is it still maxing out at 3400 or 3466 speeds?
I kinda wonder what would happen if you OC'd this puppy on LN2 on both CPU and GPU... DER8AUERRRRRRRRR!!!
DigBipper188 tech jesus GN
Would be limited by ram speed
@@stebo5562 That's very true as especially for graphics you need some seriously quick, high bandwidth RAM but it would still be cool to see an APU doing 4.9 to 5GHz with its graphics sitting there at like 2100-2200MHz running benchmarks reliably. Besides, you could always overclock the snot out of some highly binned B-die RAM and up the numbers a little bit. it wouldn't be anywhere near as good as running, say HBM or GDDR6 on it but it'd be better than stock memory.
..And that's not including them google searched "performance tweaks" to get MAX fps possible. Great video!
Hey man great video! Could you advise me on some good b450 boards compatible out the box with this ryzen 3 3200g? There's so much choice and I'm in my first build, won't be gaming much on it, it's more of a workstation build office apps etc
If you still need the advice, I’d recommend the MSI B450M BAZOOKA MAX WIFI Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard If you’re not bothered by MATX mobos.
Just got one while I wait for a 4750g from China 😁
Will it be cheap in South Africa?
Evetech's bundles are a steal
Honestly, I don't think AMD should have released these APUs. With all the RX 500 series GPUs still in the channel, they would have been better served with a cheaper CPU only option as it would have helped more to clear the channel of the 500 series cards.
Couldn't agree more there.
Can anyone recommend a cheap enough cpu cooler to OC this chip??
This CPU contains a cpu cooler soo it’s a good things
A more in depth analysis of the subject of the competition, including AMD's own 3400G, 2400G and 2200G, with benchmarks (for some reason I can't find any benchmarks of Intel's iGPUs without a dedicated graphics card) would have been more impressive, but it's still a nice video.
Here's hoping that AMD realizes that there actually is a market for higher-end APUs. ;)
6:05 why does it say 2016 on the bottom left?
0:20 I hope he landed it safely lmao RIP GPU
can i ask? what is the best mother for 3200g for overclocking? thanks
How does the APU hold up to low end cards, 1030/560/the respected 750 Ti which just won't die?
My wife's PC is old and we need to upgrade. We are strapped for cash so I'm hoping to find a cheap upgrade path. She mainly plays wow at 1080 resolution so not too taxing. Is the 3200G or 3400G a good idea?
