Silent Hill is elite tier. Although the original trilogy are the only ones worth playing imo. If you want to play the Silent Hill 2 remake I recommend you emulate the original first. It gives you the option of not using tank controls if you prefer.
If you play SH2 in the future, I would highly recommend not playing it live with chat. Unlike RE, Silent Hill is best experienced by immersing yourself in its story and atmosphere and getting in that state of mind that the game wants to impose on the player. It is a very psychological game with relatively heavier mature themes and that is what makes it unique from RE and even other Silent Hill games.
If I play it alone, Im just not sure I’d enjoy it. You definitely sacrifice some immersion when playing live though, but I think my best experience might actually be with others, if it’s that much more intense

I might take a look at SH a bit more, though I wonder if it’s too much horror for me, the silliness of RE is keeping me laughing
