Young Military Members & Expensive Cars Explained

- In this video I will explain how young military members can purchase a Dodge Charger on pay less than $30K a year. I also explain how a civilian on the same pay could never do this. To be clear, whether you're a military member or civilian, buying a Charger on less than $30K annual pay is diabolical.

Military should make a financial literacy course mandatory. $140 average cell bill, monthly!?!?!? I pay $240 for an entire year!! Mint Mobile baby.
I served 9 years in the Air Force. My son is leaving July 30th to start his journey. Grateful for these informative channels. Thank you!
Mint mobile uses T-Mobile’s towers and T-Mobile sucks. I’d wouldn’t use it even though I would love to. And also if you get the unlimited plan, the data steaming video resolution is locked to 450p max I believe which is trash.
@isaiahnieves works great for me! I love it!
Master P could be a financial literacy teacher for the whole military tbh
They do have financial literacy classes they just don’t care lol
Great video. All young military members need to know. Their command and small unit leaders need to look out for this.
I agree. The young members should get more financial education.
@@Jodywithawhyhey Jody, love the info you give, you have helped me Learn so much. I was wondering if you might do a video on ‘maxing’ out your rank before you get into basics. Ik there are ways that you can go in as an e3, and even a college. Just kinda confusing
I kinda explained the rank in this video at the :30 mark. It might help. ruclips.net/video/88oVyciP0yE/видео.htmlsi=jXfDd7-lNeKVod5K
Appreciate the break down Jody….. still gonna cop that wide body scat😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. This is gold. 🤌🏽
Bro let me tell you I walked into a army office the other day on accident and they was cooking me for mentioning your youtube channel 😂😂😂😂😂
lol. That’s hilarious. I didn’t even know their recruiters knew who I am. Lol. They’re the ones out here selling dreams of chargers. Lol
@@Jodywithawhy they didn’t know they was like JODY??? That sound like someone who sleep with yo wife when you away
😂😂😂😂😂
Ohhhhh. Most definitely. In the ARMY a Jody is a bad thing. They probably told you don’t trust anything I say. lol. Jody is the worst kind of person in the Army.
@@Jodywithawhy yesssir they was tryna convince me to join the army but I watched too many of your vids Im set on the air force 🔥
been watching these videos for a while. Leave for basic on Monday :)
Ayeee. Big congrats and good luck on the journey. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I'm still rocking a 4k car and have been able to save $10s of thousands in my 2.5 years in so far. I do my best to share my knowledge with the new airmen!
Definitely smart because interest, full coverage, maintenance, gas, car note.
I do prepaid phone plans, used 4k toyotas, and i’m in the same boat. Always 10k plus in my account while all my buddies with new cars and newest iphone don’t even have a couple grand in their account 🤷♂️
my idea is to find a abandoned older hot rod and work it from the ground up myself because that’s stuff i like to do and these Tupperware cars just ain’t my kinda car.
Thanks you dropping theme gems, Jody!! Love your channel!! Im also at my fitness goal to qualify!!
Ayeeee. Let’s goooo. Keep going. 💪🏽💪🏽
I usually play YT vids in the background, but bro I had to pause when you said $500 a month for rent. THATS THE REAL DIABOLICAL PART.
😂😂😂😂😂😂. $1,800 a month you gotta figure it out. Lol
The rent part got me too😂😂. I wanted to know where does a place exist
Buddy not being honest on that part. 😢
You wild for this one Jody with a y! 😅
😂😂😂😂. I was in the shower and this idea hit me. lol. 🤷🏽♂️
@@Jodywithawhy it was much needed. Thank you for sharing! 🤌🏽

Love your videos
Thank you for watching and supporting. 🙌🏽
@@Jodywithawhy I have questions about joining where can I reach out to you
Thank you for the game I’m going to the Air Force soon
Jody i love you but where is rent in the civilian world $500 a month. I need that ASAP
I forced it. lol. I definitely did. I actually clipped a part out of my edit saying there’s no where you can get a rent this low, but I thought it felt pretentious and uppity. So I cut it. Lol
@@Jodywithawhy I was READY to pack my bags and move
I’m happy with my 2008 Honda Accord. Never gives me problems, just payments on car insurance which isn’t nowhere near over 500 a month, payments for regular maintenance, 200,000 miles but she’s still going! Love me my Ole Amy☺️😂
Great video, I know someone who just bought a dodge charger ironically
Hope it wasn’t an E-3. Lol
@@Jodywithawhy yes it was😂
Im sold on pararescue and I've been training non stop to get myself prepared. I want to put myself through hell and see what I'm made of
I’m glad you know it’s hell and not an easy time. I’m wishing you good luck on the journey. 💪🏽
I say just save the money until you can buy in full
Ain’t nothing wrong with that. 🙌🏽
not only that but reliability
Terrible cars. Lol
Financial education is super important, it's a very good idea that you do this kind of content. Especially for those young people who still do not have a well ordered list of priorities.
As the great boxer Ringo Bonavena used to say, "Experience is a comb that life gives you, when you are getting bald".
Saludos!
P.D: 0:02 those eyes need a waiver 🤣
👀👀👀👀
What would you suggest a young airman does for a vehicle? Lease, buy, or finance?
It really depends on the individual. Sometimes leasing is the better option especially for those who know they’ll want a new car every few years. But if you know this car will be it for the next 5-10 years then buying would be best. Financing is good as long as you’re within your means but all of these scenarios will change depending on the individual.
😁 all true!
🙌🏽🙌🏽
What website is that calculator?
Texas sales tax is 8.25%
It’s actually 6.25. The calculator I was using had already it in there and I changed it to 7.25 for some reason.
Life’s not fair.
Random question... I'm going to be enlisting in about a year. Ive been healthy and fit all my life, but I have never been able to smell all my life. I am not diagnosed with anything, and it doesn't affect my health at all. Would this disqualify me from the air force or could this be worked around? And would this disqualify me from any maintenance job specifically?
It is disqualifying, I just don’t know how the waiver process works for it. Like what you would need to provide in order to get a medical waiver. I would recommend reaching out to a recruiter and see if they can help.
@@Jodywithawhy I kinda figured it was disqualifying. The current recruiter I'm talking to said it wasn't and I had a hard time believing him lol
According to the regulations (Dodi 6130.03) a current olfactory deficit is disqualifying. If he has a way around that, just go with what they say. 🤙🏽
i’m still buying it
😂😂😂😂. Y’all wild. Lol
I already bought mine lol
What are your thoughts on buying a 20k honda or toyota would it be considered bad aswell?
For a brand new military member, it’s a bit expensive. The car payment along with the insurance could stress you out, but it’s possible. I would just you need to run numbers according to your budget and see if it feels right.
@@Jodywithawhypreciate the response im leaving for basic in a month as a e-2 and wanted to know how to make reasonable purchases as a soon to be new airmen so this is very much appreciated
I would blow my money on a diesel pickup. At least I can do hauling and make money.
That’s fair. If it’s no longer a liability but an asset, that’s not a bad purchase.
Aw men. I thought they were balling. This is not a good look.
He’s giving an example towards people who’s low in rank and low in time in service.
Brand new members are not balling. After about 4-6 years in with proper budgeting and financial education, you can live pretty good.
But what about if u get a bonus for like 20k can I afford it then
You can afford it, may not be the best purchase but it’s definitely possible. I would say first check to what insurance will be. 🤙🏽
Does this money include our job can you help me understand better
I’m a little confused what you mean. Are you asking where did I come up with the pay for a brand new military member? If so here’s a video breaking down pay. ruclips.net/video/dFPh6-K7iWM/видео.htmlsi=Qo4ACMB8psYEPkdp
I used Chat GPT instead of the finance office to make me a budget and to tell me good ways to invest and make money. We're in the year 2024. Use technology lol
That’s dope. 🤙🏽
Leaving to basic, and I can say without a doubt, I dont want a dodge.
lol. Please don’t. Not even for the fact it’s an expensive car, they’re pretty bad for reliability. Lol
@@Jodywithawhy i am a mechanic by trade so yeah, very much not interested. I am however gonna upgrade to a 2014 Camry lol, also thanks for all the Videos. Its made my preparation for AFBasic move forward smoothly.
Jordy, I’m attending pre-med school to join med school; I’m planning to join the military; do you recommend that?
If you’ve found reason to yes. Meaning will you get satisfaction from joining, or do you need assistance with med school tuition. Or do you want to serve as a doctor or nurse in the military to help members. If any of these you’ve answered yes to, then yea the military might be a good fit for you. If you answered no, you just want find your reason before you make the decision. I hope that helps.
Bro put $600 in insurance but $500 in rent... thats hysterical
The $500 rent was more unrealistic than $600 insurance for a brand new charger for a young person. I stretched the rent, but those insurance costs are real as hell. Lol
500 a month for rent is INSANEEEE 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Does not exist 🤣
I was reaching. lol. 😂😂😂
