@Seven Inches of Throbbing Pink Jesus A long time ago I decided to get to understand why although I'm not intelligent. But the subjects I'd like to know as much as possible do have my interest completely. But I think this is a normal human thing at a certain human degree. And the fact that some individuals never have been to a university doesn't mean automatically that they can't understand something. Maybe it can take a longer ×-time than a student who had a lot of A's at high school before entering a university, but in my opinion it's not that normal as it seems to be. But in my case I like to learn. And often until late at night due to the interesting or less interesting facts conserning a subject. Maybe this is my way to deal with my kind of happyness which I can only find in studying. And maybe this is the reason why I've never been in love with a woman. To complicated in relation to a woman and my love for studying.
@@myron8005 It makes me sad to hear that Jack. I hope the future holds only luck and joy for you. Maybe you should interpret the lyrics different. You can't do what 10 people tell you to do because you are what you are and you should accept that, just as society should. Keep the same Jack. Love.
JackTheH as a similarly minded person, don’t worry about where or when you’re born, focus on who you are now and make the best of the moments in the present over dwelling on moments in the past. Always keep your eyes towards the future and only worry about the things that you can control.
My favourite song by the legend and King of Soul!!! Otis Redding tragically passed away so young like so many famous artists of the period in plane crashes. Will always be in our thoughts & prayers!!
Tuesday was my mom birthday it's was a hard day I just kept sing the dock of the bay all day long i guess everyone have a sick of the bay moment mom left me Dec 26th 2005 life haven't been the same since but God keeps me moving from day to day everyone that have a mom please forgive her love her when the day come you can't see or hear her voice it's very hard
I lost my Dad in '91, my Mom in '09 and my only child in '13. If it wasn't for music, I'd be running around the street at night wearing nothing but black. I'm so very sorry for your loss but I'm truly happy you have music to help you keeping a grasp. You may not always know it, but there are people that need you to still be with them. I never actually thought that myself, until I stepped back for a bit and the world of what loved ones I had left started to become ugly. So, despite your pain, be there for the ones who even remotely need you, we rarely realize how important we can be. I know I didn't. It cost me a career, but it didn't cost me my friends.
This is such a Legendary Song !! It's amazing that Otis was right there with his fantastic contributions to the Mid 60's Soul Era !! Thanks to Steve Cropper for writing and producing this song. He had a feel like no other artist. This song still sounds great at my live gigs. (pre Covid) .. and it works well on the Cruise Ship gigs as well. My Students love to learn and play this song. If you need it transposed into a different key to make it easier to sing, i can help you with that as well. Gotta Love the Classics. ;-)
Lyrics Now!: Sittin' in the mornin' sun I'll be sittin' when the evenin' comes Watching the ships roll in Then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay Wastin' time I left my home in Georgia Headed for the Frisco Bay 'Cause I've had nothin' to live for It look like nothin's gonna come my way So I'm just gon' sittin' on the dock of the bay Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay, wastin' time Look like nothin's gonna change Everything still remains the same I can't do what ten people tell me to do So I guess I'll remain the same, yes Sittin' here restin' my bones And this loneliness won't leave me alone, listen Two thousand miles, I roam Just to make this dock my home Now I'm just gon' sit, at the dock of the bay Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh yeah Sittin' on the dock of the bay Wastin' time
Otis Redding broke the color barrier just as Chuck Berry did and the real Godfather of soul, Wilson Pickett. The only performer who is black besides these three that were accepted, were Cab Calloway and Louis Armstrong.
This song is a therapy for my depression and loneliness. Thank you, Otis.
I wish you a lot of happyness !!

This song kept me sane in dank moments ;D
jk I'm glad you found solace in this gorgeous music! :)
Otis was a relatively unheralded genius ! He was already worthy of the hall of fame, when this song was released posthumously.
This Song went to #1 in 1968
Brilliant song, brilliant singer. Otis turned me on to soul music in the late 1960's, still love the old songs in 2021.
How can you dislike this song??? They're different not Sitting on the Dock of the Bay.
I Agree wholeheartedly! Whoever dislikes this needs to check their selves!

Otis Redding..say no more!
While standing in the chow line at Ft Devens, Mass we heard on the radio that Otis had been killed. Broke my 19 year old heart.
What a man.
Ft. Devens, MA was where I processed out of the army (1972) after 2½ years in Vietnam.

Lyrics Now!:
Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' comes
Watching the ships roll in
Then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the Frisco Bay
'Cause I've had nothin' to live for
It look like nothin's gonna come my way
So I'm just gon' sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay, wastin' time
Look like nothin's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes
Sittin' here restin' my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone, listen
Two thousand miles, I roam
Just to make this dock my home
Now I'm just gon' sit, at the dock of the bay
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh yeah
Sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
Wow Otis, great moves, keep it up!
He dead
❤🎶
Yay! The original mono version, not the gutless stereo remix that got done by some lunatic at Stax in the 1970s.
