Really nostalgia, I already play FlightGear since 2010 I believe, and I'm still in the elementary school. The reason I play this game is because back in the day, I don't have money to buy flight simulator games, and it is very difficult to pay games since you need credit card which I don't have of course. Because of that, I try to surf the internet a free flight simulation games, and I found this FlightGear. Really astonishing that this game became even better than I played last time.
@@OpenGL4ever I don't think it exist back in 2010 in Indonesia, unlike today haha, and you know I still too young at that time to understand that kind of things.
I remember that was my first flight simulator too. Then i found cracked fsx and p3d but my laptop couldn't handle p3d at that time so i went for fsx for years. I mostly flown in vatsim with the iconic PMDG 737. I then stopped playing 'typical' flight simulators and moved to flight combat simulators (dcs) for years. Tldr last year i bought a new gaming laptop, downloaded and played dcs just like in my previous laptop. Then last month i missed flying with commercial airliners. i proceed to bought gamepass to play msfs2020. There was no 737 so i searched for 737 addon and found out that fsx developer era, PMDG, makes 737 for msfs. Now i play msfs with my favorite 737 just like in fsx era. Time flies...
wow, thats great bro ur flying an acc plane , I barely know lol I went to an air cadets program it was pretty good ngl, part of the military but ye. I know the basics and for anyone saying its easy it isnt.
My mind is absolutely blown! I just test ran FG for a few hours on an Intel Celeron J1900 with integrated Intel graphics running from a live session and although I couldn't get the beginner tutorials to work as, for some reason I could never get the plane to even taxi or roll down a runway, I was able to take off in normal flight mode and the damn thing actually flew quite responsively! Well, at least until I apparently ran out of fuel... The prop just suddenly stopped mid-flight. I can't believe that FG runs at all on this hardware! Damn, I'm gonna have to install this...
I didn't see anyone mention this, so: the intended way to turn on TerraSync is to tick the "Download scenery automatically" checkbox on the blue-sidebar settings screen. The Additional Settings box is the equivalent of the command line: inscrutable, powerful, and easy to copy-paste into from a forum post 🙂 One thing I think FG poorly communicates is that the download actually includes scenery for a few small areas; in particular, the airport that was selected when you first open FlightGear after installing. If you try to go somewhere else without downloading scenery, however... yeah, it's endless ocean time.

is the scencery downloaded locally or getting streamed if it's stored locally, how much storage does the whole world take Because if its stored locally i probably cant play it cause i probably wouldnt have enough storage
It gets downloaded locally, but you only download a small fraction of the world at the time. (which, unless you're very limited on storage, is probably the best option?) I'd say you can keep it to within a few GB if you don't fly in too many places.
im looking for a game pretty much exactly like this, detailed but not to detailed and it has an interior that is interactable lllike the battery buttons, and instead of an instant spawning in thing you have to go from dark to powered.

That’s okay if you think that’s you fab, but me personally, I like flightgear. It’s okay to like whatever, I won’t judge, but I like something different.
The 3d engine is using an irregular grid. Thus it might be possible. But it will definitely require manual work. The standard scenery is auto generated from SRTM Data and this will definitely not produce tunnels.
FlightGear is very good simulator, but lacks high quality content like textures, scenery and aircrafts. There is very few really good planes in the FG. Most planes have dubious flight dynamic, because use only basic YASIM FDM without real aerodynamics data obtained from wind tunnels. Live weather engine is poor with abrupt condition changes, only hard coded meteoscenarios are really good. For general aviation simulation is this weather engine reasonable good, but for long flights with modern airliner simply not. Yes, it is free of charge, but this fact can't excuse some major bugs and flaws like jitters, stutters, low FPS even on powerfull PCs, visible cloud popcorn effect etc.
@@its-tin And ??? OpenSource community has much more contributors than any software company. So quality, graphics etc would be much better. Some developers stated, that FG has best weather engine - this is only half truth. Live weather engine is piece of the crap, has many discrepancies like abrupt wind strength, and direction changes when plane travels from meteostation 1 to the meteostation 2 zone, there is not interpolation, I can write same words about atmospheric pressure. In the result - if Yoy fly with C172 for example from FRESNO (KFAT) to Bishop (KBIH), at Fresno You can have 15 kts headwind and over the mountain hte wind suddenly and abruptly change direction and You have 20 kts tailwind and Your poor C172 will ends up in ruins. But weather scenarios are really perfect, with ridge lift etc support for gliding. Biggest FG's problem is absence of really good aircrafts. FG has many aircrafts in the hangar, but many of them have very dubious flight dynamics and fly as Alladin's magic carpet. There are very few really good aircraft - for example A320family with perfectly simulated Fly By Wire, very good developed avionics with SimBrief integration. There is not really good 737, 747 or 787, all Airbuses other than A320family are simply crap. I used FG more than 3 years, but after this period I moved to commercial platform and do not regret it.
