    I had to restart this a few times -- many of these suggestions will seem obvious to seasoned knitters, but hope they help someone: 1. After building the ~4" base and dividing into thirds, focus on/remember that you are building off of the MIDDLE section and slowly connecting the side sections. "Row 6" doesn't mean you knit all the way across the 3 sections, it just means you've built up the middle row and are connecting/dropping stitches from one of the sides to bring it all together. 2. Always turn your work in the same direction (as shown in video). 3. It will look goofy in the beginning - don't give up. 4. I put a safety pin on one side of my work -- this helped me remember which side I was slip-stitching and which I was purling. 5. Count the stitches frequently -- if something is wrong and you can catch it, you can undo the row(s) (search on RUclips).

      Thanks for this. I should have read this earlier. Now I have to put a life line back to the base row to rip back. I didn't count my stitches correctly. 😞

      Hi, I see you knitted this bonnet, I've just finished the eight row of decreasing and not sure where to go from there. How do I know what to knit for row 9 till I'm left with 1 stich each side. Greatful for advice.

    I am a new knitter. I have watched so many times - carefully watching the turn being the same and the alternating of yarn being in front or back for odd or even rows. Every time i do it the sides where there is a ridge type area look very different. One side looks great and the other is wider concave type looking. Appreciate any suggestions. Idk what I am misunderstanding. Thank you

    Thanks. There's one more issue. I made 30 rows like you showed above. But my base is only coming to 3" after 30 rows. So should i add more rows to make the base bigger? Is a 3 inch base too small?

      I am too getting the base same length of 3 inches for 0-3 month. Did you complete the bonnet? Does it fit the baby?

      @@nehanaik1096 I increased the no. Of rows and made the base 4" long. The bonnet is complete and looks good. The baby is due next month so will see the final result then.

    Hi. I love your videos. They are very helpful. I have made a few things with the help of your tutorials. I have one query. Are the number of stitches going to be the same for different sizes of bonnets? I'm using 3mm needles for 0-3 M old baby. But is the procedure and number of stitches same as in the video?

      Hi 👋 yes you keep the same number of stitches just use smaller needles.     Maybe you explained it but I didn’t get it (english is not my first language).. Why do you knit the knit stitches on the 2x2 rib going through the back loop and not the front one?

    Hi, I’m using 3mm needles knitting for 0-3 month, when you first finished the 30 rows of knitting, yours measured around 11cm, but my 30 rows are shorter, so should I follow the number of rows or the measurement? Thanks.

      I’m a combination knitter. It’s how I knit but you can knit any of the stitch however way you know how.

      I am near to the cast off. If I don’t knit 2 together and just carry on knitting will I still end up with the same numbers so I can count along with you…
      Plus it will be my very 1st project 🧶
