- Taking advantage of a dry morning, I took the Bonneville T120 out over the hills before the rain arrived in the afternoon.
I haven't been out much on the motorcycle much this year, dry days have been few and far between; but this short trip reminded me that Spring is coming and the promise of many adventures to come.

You look outside and think: what a crap weather to go for a ride and then you watch this video and realize how much you need to go out there and enjoy every single moment on your bike!! Well done you Matt, this is a true credit for any day ride! Thank you! 👍👍
Any break from the rain is a good excuse to get out for a ride 👍
The video came at the right time. I'm sick and I was just watching old videos of yours. And then a whole new film came along! And such a beautiful one! Thanks for that!
Sorry to hear you’re too well Raoul, I hope it passes quickly! 🙏
i think triumph motorcycles company should give you a "medal of bonnville" for your videos. they are so sophisticated and more than other marketing activities they make you feel uncomplete by not beeing an owner of such a great motorbike. :D :D
well done matt.
I don’t think they know my channel exists 😁 I tried contacting them once to see how to get on the “press bikes” list, but maybe I didn’t say the correct secret passwords as they didn’t reply 🤷🏻♂️
@@ClassicRides 😂😂😂 indeed.
Very nice Matt, thank you for the ride and morning coffee this morning
You’re very welcome David, it was literally my pleasure 😁
It's a video that looks like my motorcycle is running... I woke up from bed watching a good video again today... Thank you~^
You’re very welcome 🙌
What a wonderful spot to stop for a coffee in that beautiful scenery. 👍
Totally agree 👍
always biggest respect for content creators that do b-roll/ drive by's ! going to place ,set the camera, go back, drive by, then go back again to pick up the camera... and then find it in edit :D thanks man!!!
Thanks Mark, they’re a pain to shoot but worth it 🙂
So relaxing to watch. Cheers pal. 👍🏻
So glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
How lucky am I to live in Derbyshire. Truely one of the most beautiful counties in England. Another beautiful video; thank you.
Totally agree, we’re very lucky to have such incredible roads to ride on our doorsteps 👍
Can’t believe I nearly missed this, nice tonic after a tough week, thank you 😊
Glad to have been of service 😁
After cinematic delight 👏🏻 Love the acoustic accompaniment. It’s perfect
Thanks Pete, glad you liked it 🙂
Thanks Matt. Too true, spring is coming. Take care.
Thanks Nicholas 🙏
Lovely coverage, particularly the sequence of you making and drinking the tea. And the bike sounds great.
Thanks Simon, my experiments in audio continue! I’ve been enjoying the latest podcasts, keep them coming 👍
@@ClassicRidesWorking on it!
Peace and Tranquility in a mad world ❤. Your bike is looking great mate.👍
Thanks Martin, she’s not looking too bad for a six year old bike 👌
That was a very relaxing ride out Matt, videography, scenery and bike were all spot on. Thanks very much, made my Thursday.
Super glad to hear it 🙂
The Goyt Valley, one of my favourite places to stop for lunch whilst riding the Peak District. Jenkin Chapel is worth a visit. Great video Matt.
Thanks Martyn, I haven’t been to Jenkin Chapel actually, so I’ve added it my list of places to visit. Thanks 🙏
Very immersive that one, must be the water. 👍
Very good, I see what you did there 👍
@@ClassicRides that wasn’t intended, honest! I always find your videos draw me in and water is one of my other loves.
@@jerhughes500 These nothing like being near water to reset yourself a bit.
Hi Matt, another beautiful vid. Love these , so relaxing and an easy watch , tea by lakeside shots with sound of water was just perfect. Thank you, keep them coming mate.
Thanks Tom, it’s been a welcome change to get out and film a ‘normal’ video 🙂
This is one of my favourite coffee stops, living in Cheshire I have a stunning ride through the Goyt Valley and down to Errwood then join the Cat and Fiddle to go either to Buxton or back into Cheshire. The ride round the reservoir is wonderful (if it's open). If you see someone parked up with a Himalayan and a brew in one hand it's probably me!
I'll be sure to stop and say hello if I see you!
Classy 👍
Thanks 🙏
Great vid brother my wife just walked into the room and looked at the vid you were riding and she says this guy is crazy hes passing on a double line gasping ! I said very casually hes in the UK i smiled she says why do you watch vid with no talking i replied its good for my soul! Hearing just the sounds of the machine and the road keep them coming brother
Hmm, not sure where your wife saw me passing on double lines 😁. Glad you liked the video though David, it was good to get out and film again.
you should have said to her: "learn from it!" :D :D :D
Absolutely beautiful thanks for sharing😊
Thanks Edward, always glad to hear you liked a video 🙏
Another superb film to start friday thanks Matt
Glad to have helped get your day off in the right way Ian 🙂
Matt just realised where is the dialog ?
@@IanClarke-bi3seI’m not doing it on every video, this is a ‘classic’ Classic Rides video 😁
@@ClassicRides will look forward to the next one then Matt
Just nice to know where you are
@@ClassicRides looking forward to "modern classic rides"
You do beautiful work. It's inspiring both on a making-me-want-to-ride level, and on a content production level.
Thanks I appreciate that 🙌👊
Hi classic rides, another great vid and the scenery is amazing thanks
Glad you liked it Paul, I agree on the scenery 👌
Nice restful video. The silver grey tones of your T120 fit right in. I wish Triumph would bring that colour scheme back. To me, it suits the bike much better than the bright reds and blues of late.
Couldn’t agree more, muted tones always seem a bit more sophisticated to me.
totally agree with you!
@@rramirrezzyou’re a man of taste Onkel 🙂
I agree. I have a 2015 Bonneville SE in the silver tone and I love it.
@@ClassicRides of course - thats why i bought my "black" with "grey" fuel tank an fenders...that makes my bonnie a little bit colorful...this is enough understatement :D :D :D
I really enjoy watching your videos. Great job as always.

What I would call a pleasant day out... Had new tyres fitted a couple of weeks ago, so went out to scrub them in along Ullswater to Kirkstone Pass and back. It was sunny day with very little traffic. Gave it some beans on the way back, home with a big smile 😀
Sounds like you found a break in weather for a nice ride too. Hopefully there’s more to come 🤞
Me too👍
Therapy. Thank you !
You’re very welcome 🙂
Lovely ride!
This video really inspires me to go for a ride. Usually I’ll bring my Moka Pot for a cup of coffee. Figure you’re drinking tea.
You’d be correct, I do like coffee but tea is my preferred choice of hot beverage.
I say if you’re feeling the need for a two wheeled escapade, go for it 👍
Good job, good video, good event and good bike.
Thanks! 👍
Love the Goyt Valley, one of my regular routes. 👍
It’s a fantastic little road isn’t it
Estupendo Matt igual que una película que imágenes que buena toma ruido motor y al final el correr el agua fantástico un saludo campeón 😊
Thanks Paco, glad you liked another one 👊
Another relaxing video to watch Matt, it’s good to see you are getting on well with the new camera.
Thanks Les, I’m starting to get a feel for where it looks ok to use it 🙂
nice nicenicenice bonneville bass
It’s got plenty of bass for sure 👌
So British it hurts !!!! Tea and A Triumph nothing better !!!!
Simple pleasures 🏍️💨
thank you nice video
fun ride and safe!
So glad you liked it, thank you 🙏
How comforting Matt...exactly what us solo motorcycle riders enjoy watching...cool jacket too 🙏
Thanks Mark, glad you liked it. Really no idea why Belstaff stopped making this jacket, it's a proper 'do everything' motorcycle jacket.
beautiful riding ❤
Thank you 🙏
Fantastic as always mate!
Always glad to hear you liked a video mate 🙏
England in your videos looks like the most beautiful place on earth! Thanks Matt, you make us dream!
Francesco from Firenze
Thanks Francesco, we have some nice spots here 🙂
Must have been a nice day! Audi at 1:49 was topless!
Given the past five months of non-stop rainy misery that we’ve had, I can’t say I blame him, you’ve got to soak in as much of the dry weather as possible these days 😁
Thanks
Thanks Martyn, that’s incredibly kind of you 🙏
@@ClassicRides just a little show of appreciation.
@@martynhughes8305well I appreciate your show of appreciation 🙂
Your videos are always amazing! And the music... better and better, each time. Do you have any playlist at Spotify with all these wonderful songs? All the best.
Thanks Diego, I get the music from either Epidemic Sound or Artlist as they’re dedicated platforms for copyright free music, so I’m afraid I don’t have a list I can share. Sorry!
great video as usual my friend
Thank you sir 🙏
It's a nice motorcycle touring.👍
Thanks, so glad you liked it 🙏👊
Yeah for sure Matt...I sold my Belstaff in the 80's for about $20 AUS. Got a replica now
If it does the job Mark that's all that matters!
A Royal Enfield and a Triumph sound like perfect garage mates 👌
I’ve been a subscriber for some time now and have always enjoyed and appreciated the quality and effort you put into producing your videos thanks Matt. The Winnats Pass vid was amazing and very cleverly done. Keep up the good work.
BTW, just ordered the Digley side bag in khaki. Looks to be much better quality than the Cotswold one I’ve been using for several years.👍🏍
Thanks Paul, nice to hear you liked the 360 video, I’ll be doing a few more of those as the year goes on. And thanks for buying a bag too, I’m sure you’ll be happy with it 🙂
Hi, lovely vid, can you remember the make of the chrome engine bars as mine could do with some? Cheers
I’m afraid I got them on eBay as unbranded bars, so I’ve no idea who makes them. They were about £40, fit perfectly, haven’t rusted and protected the bike when I dropped it a few months ago.

I think that’s the first time anyone’s written a poem about one of my videos, thank you Mike 😁🙏
I think I did this one three times. The dialog is just killer. Let the machine and the scenery speak for themselves. That's how one makes a great vid. Good flowing music choices. That's not so easy to do. Liking the 360 camera even more. Over the shoulder reverse shots are really doing justice to the ride and place. Wonderful views. The whirlybird, search and rescue practice? Have you ridden with the Belstaff in some extended time rain events? If so how did it do? I never had issues with mine. Next time Matt.
Thanks Sam, my experiments with the 360 continue, but I think I’m getting there with finding a few good angles to work with. My Belstaff has been faultless, I’ve been in some extremely bad rain for a couple of hours on the motorway and it’s never let a drop in. I don’t really understand why Belstaff stopped making my particular jacket, it’s got everything a biker needs.
The chopper was doing some logging work actually, never seen one do that before 🚁
@@ClassicRides they use the big choppers like that in pacific northwest. Watch guys cut 40 to 50 meter high trees while chopper pulled them out. My belstaff suit is 40 yrs old. Been rewaxed a few times. Still good. Makes great wet fishing coat in winter. The 360 footage doesn't seel surreal
The public loos at 6:55 are the starting point of the old Buxton road. Its open to traffic, but you'd need a tough off road vehicle. Its very rocky in places, but a good lane. Do not be tempted to try it using a road bike.
Yes I rode up the first 100 meters of that, then thought better of it 😁
@ClassicRides Wise man. Your bike is much too nice to be wrecked.
totally agree 😁@@AlfFieldArt
Well done Matt!! A relaxing video with the T120!! Please tell us where you travel as I rarely find the quiet roads around here!!!
This is Errwood Reservoir, near the Cat & Fiddle Road. It’s only a short road but one of my favourites.
Lovely video again Matt😊 can you tell us which reservoir that is please, living on the edge of The Peak District I haven't found those roads yet.
Keep them coming Matt😊
Thanks 🙏 it’s Errwood Reservoir, near the Cat & Fiddle Road. It’s a short route but one of my favourites
Thank you Matt, any plans for a Bonnie Peak District meet up? Be nice to pick people's brains over coffee and cake somewhere .
It's a possibility, I might put a date out there in summer and see if anyone wants to go for a ride, maybe 😁
What a beautifully shot video. Well done. Question though, as a fellow t120 owner, can you tell me what front mudguard extender and your panniers are please? Subbed, I’m looking forward to exploring your channel ❤
Thanks Simon, hope you enjoy the channel. The mudguard extension is by Pyramid Plastics and it’s called a “fenda extenda” (or something like that), works very well at keeping muck out of the radiator.
The panniers are ones that I sell through the channel’s website, www.classic-rides.co.uk 🙂
Another brilliant video Matt, I really look forward to seeing your vids 👍🏼
Bike looking fantastic. Are you eyeing up any other models?
Glad you like them Sven. Honestly the only bikes I’m remotely interested in are the upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler and Classic 650, they could be quite interesting I think.
@@ClassicRides good choice, I’m undecided between t120, speed twin and cb1100rs!
@@svenwhothehell5980all excellent choices 👌
Are there any plans on oxblood colored bags? Great video👍
I’m afraid not, I don’t really sell enough to do anything more than basic colours. Sorry!
Enjoyed my early Sunday morning watching your excellent video.
One aside question…
noticed you are running what appears to be the Motone 1” up and back risers.
Did you per chance have to replace the original cables?
Thanks.
You're very observant, I am indeed sporting the Motone Up and Overs. They're a straight swap for the original clamp, so no extra length cables needed 👌🏻
Great to see you out riding again mate. I wish the conditions was similar over here, but we still have some winter left before I can bring my bike out again. 🔥 Always nice to see others can start their season early. What is it in your thermos? looks like tea with some milk or is it coffee with milk? Cheers ☕
Warmer days are coming. We’re still 95% rain most of the time but caught a lucky break in the morning. Got soaked on the way home though 🙏
I’m definitely more of a tea with milk person, so that’s usually what’s in my thermos 🙂
@@ClassicRides sounds interesting! You guys have much stronger traditions for tea then we do! What is your favourite Brand?
@@tshansenah yes, tea is a way life here 😁 Personally I’m a Tetley Tea man, nothing too posh for me 😁
@@ClassicRides Need to grab me a pack of those, never tried them. Strange, you come of like a really posh dude to me 🤣
😁I'm very far from posh @@tshansen
Your helmet - looks so cool. Can you tell me what model is this?
Yes, it’s a Hedon Heroine Racer 👌
Good one 👍 where was the ride ?
It was Errwood Reservoir
I know a few people who’ve completed some wild camping on the lane between Erwood Reservoir and Cat and Fiddle, it can be fairly quiet
How are you finding the 360 cam?
I spotted some new boulders in place to stop the campervans in the parking area, shame they won’t let people camp overnight there.
The 360 is interesting, still exploring good ways to use it without making the viewer feel seasick 😁
