Beautiful bike… I’ve also spent a small fortune on motone mods for my 2016 T100… The most effective one for me though was replacing the front fork springs for progressive ones and fitting YSS gas shocks on the rear… Completely transforms the handling of the bike, and no more lower back and shoulder pain ;-)

But as an owner of a belt driven bike, I'm a fan of the system (ie, clean, quiet, belt doesn't stretch, just hassle free). There's a few RUclips clips on the product. For me a motorcycle has to have chrome and lots of it. Since the 80’s there have been midnight editions of motorcycles and i like the looks of them. But living in the country black is only clean for for a short time. Your Triumph looks very nice. The chromed badge on the tank gives contrast against the black tank, and looks good as it is.

Hi Will the bike is looking great, part of having a new machine is adding bits etc to how you want it, as I did on the Fatboy, initially it can be expensive but that's the way it is, won't be long & you'll have it looks how you want it to be. I used to wear glassware for distance & also reading, & I ended up going to Prague for lens replacement, I had trifocal lens inserted & hey presto no more specs, & it was a quarter of the cost it would have cost in the uk, best thing I did in yrs -- excellent clinic & a nice visit to Prague , all the best Will 👍👍

I know she’s basically the same as Luigi, however somehow she feels totally different. The new bags from Franco Cuoio fitted to Luigi are Ridgy Didge, so good I will probably get a pair of black ones for Isabella sometime next year. Haha!! I have to agree though Mark the 1050 vstrom is an amazing bike....there is very strong possibility that I might actually get another one for my commute when we move..love them!
One cheap mod that improves the appearance is the clear lens + yellow bulb conversion kit - Triumph part number A2709046 (about £30). The LED conversion is well over £200. The biggest mod I've had done is the tubeless wheel conversion and I have spent plenty on "bling" like the fake carb side covers. Personally I've spent on the Triumph parts, but the the Motone brass items combine really well with a Black bike. I look forward to seeing the results. Bike looks neat.

The post office awkwardness and "not my bike" incident remind me of a time in Disney World Florida. There was a man in the queue for one of the rides and I just knew him from somewhere but couldn't place him. I was just about to speak to him when he spoke to his wife in German... Everyone has a doppelganger. Bike looks lovely, but after the Motone "carb" covers, new seat and black badges it'll be finished, done - doesn't need anything else. When I worked at Halfords we had a catalogue of stripes and decals and a customer of ours ordered nearly everything in there for his Cavalier SRI and proceeded to fit the whole lot. He really didn't know quite when to stop😂. But it's your bike as they say 😊. Leave the new seat brown though.

It's your bike, you do what you want with it that makes you happy. Personally I wouldn't feel the need to get all black everything, but the new seat sounds like a good buy! I feel like any time I've got on a bike there's something just off about the seat to peg height, and I'm just a regular 6 foot guy. I would assume it's because off the the showroom floor they're all more or less one size fits all. So a seat made for your own frame/build sounds like something I'll consider for myself one day...
Bike looks great. Yellow headlamp is a safety thing as it disperses your light in fog helping you to see better and prevents dazzle to oncoming motorists. Done the same on my Street Twin. It used to be mandatory in France in the 60's/70's I believe and you used to be able to buy lens paint and plastic headlamp covers for cars for holiday travel.

I’ll keep the mods light on my T120. Center stand, touring style windscreen, sump plate, radiator guard, brake light modulator, and possible some amber DRL’s on my engine bars. It’s a blank canvas for an interpretation its owner to fill in.
Indicators are horrible, need smaller billet ones, Headlight looks okay, grill is to far away from the light ! A little modification in order. Bar end mirrors would be another mod I would do. and a smaller rear light unit. Lovely bike, you do what you like its your bike, don't listen to us idiots Happy New Year

When you come to change the tyres you will find that the rear is radial and the front is crossply. I changed mine to the Conti Road attack 3 (both radial) tyres and found that the handling improved significantly. Also Triumph do an indicator conversion kit to LED with clear lenses. They may look good.

@@2wheeledwillie395 yes, i have the clear LED indicators. The conversion kit is simple since you just change the lens and replace the bulb with the LED, rather than change the whole indicator stalk. You also have to tell the ECU that you are using LEDs, the instructions are easy to follow.
Please don’t take offence but I just don’t like all black bikes. I’ve owned a T120 and yes, they are a great bike, mine had the blue and white colour scheme. It was the closest I could get to match my first Triumph, a Tiger 90 that I had back in 1967.
He's wrong, headlights can be white or yellow, the only dubious issue might be the grille, not the yellow section, but in honesty unless you're riding in a way that attracts negative attention most issues like this pass under the radar. Is the yellow grille from motone, can you add a link

The headlight on mine isn't that marvellous. I'm not not sure why you'd want to reduce its output still further but if you dont ride at night, its fine. Agreed it does look 'the business'. Oh, just realised you dont want my opinion on the light....
Speaking of torque my R1150GS has about the same amount of torque as the T120 at about the same revs. I like it to. However I can't talk about torque with discussing another bike I had a few years ago, with real torque, the type of torque in which you don't even care what gear the bike is in, or how slow you are going, or how long the line of cars is you want to pass type of Torque. 128 foot pounds of it actually at 2500 revs, or 167 Nm. It was like a freight train (2005 Yamaha XV 1900 Roadliner). That bike has gone now, but still have my BMW as well as a 2011 T100 Bonnie which I have listed for sale as we speak.
It is a 2011 T100 bonneville, and even though I thought I might be able to ride it to replace the BMW, I found it very disappointing. I think I am at that age where it is difficult to impress me. I bought a brand new Suzuki 1050 a few yeas ago with all the bells and whistles, Hard Luggage, Cruise control, the lot, but only did 745 km on it before I sold it, very disappointed. On paper it was the Bees Knees, but in reality did not live up to the hype (in my head) I expected it to have. Perhaps I am at the end of my biking days. @@2wheeledwillie395

@@2wheeledwillie395 five years with it it tends to grow on ya I had to get the chrome a bit more reflective in headlights and the ☀..... then how their crankcases at times are about blended visually with really black tarmac.......also why I added the free spirits fork mounted mini head lamp that runs a 30 or 35 watt bulb rigged it in tandem with main 👀 (eye ball) they still try and pull out on us......

I have had pretty mixed results with Motone stuff. The seat I had was fine, but the fuel cap and brake fluid reservoir cover were very, very badly made and for the price I was appalled.

The bike looks great - I'm a fan of yellow headlight or spots. I'm deep in down the youtube rabbit hole looking at T100s and T120s as a replacement for my 1250GS. I'm doing a lot more city riding in London than I used and think this might a contender. Very different bikes, would like to hear of anyone else making a similar switch.
Hey Aidan, thanks for the comment..interesting to hear yr thinking of getting rid of the GS for a Bonnie...If I was just going to be doing mostly town riding then I'd have definitely gone for the T100, I test rode one and absolutely loved it but we're moving and my commute will be mostly A roads and motorways so I went with the T120 for the extra gear and a bit more power...but both bikes are amazing, good luck with your search..if you haven't already then check out The all year Motorcyclist channel, he's got a T100 gold line and loves it 👍
@@2wheeledwillie395 I’ve got a good stretch of fast A road before I get into town. So I think I’d like the legs of the 1200. Lots to research - I’m at sea with my next choice of bike. Even considering the Trident for carving up traffic.
My solution for London riding was a Honda SH300 scooter (since I had no intention of giving up my RT). Anything like that will do. Your prime criteria should something weighing at least 80 kg lighter than the GS (say 170kg) . 250 cc + scooters will easily cruise at 65 mph. Every scooter-owning RT rider that I met seemed to have plumped for the SH300. If you get a T120 rather then a T100 for city commuting, then get a larger rear sprocket to help first gear out.
Like the light. Does the fly screen make any difference in terms of wind deflection? Bar end mirrors are next on my list after pannier rails. Loving my t120 ( I too recently came from royal enfield classic and interceptor). Do you watch classic rides? He’s got his bike nicely modded.

Looks cracking imo and i do like the headlight, not for everyone obviously. All the mods look good. With the seat I'd have tried something off piste like one the same colour as the spark plug caps. That definitely wouldn't be for everyone though! Lol

Hi Mark...the guard came with a separate yellow perspex lens , I got mine from ebay , I just put in bonneville t120 headlight guard and that came up...took 5 minutes to fit! I think they do the same one on Amazon too....ride safe buddy

The bike is looking good Willie if you like it then don't worry what others think it's your bike. I will say a black seat would be better with the overall look IMHO. I am a Chromosexual so it isn't my taste mine has stainless crash bars and pannier rails, chrome back rest and the paint is silver with red stripes and gold pinstripes so a very different look to yours but that's part of what makes the Bonneville special you can really make it your own.

Me and you are exact opposite's! I had a T120 and now own a 1050 V-Strom and you went the other way! I love the V-Strom it's a keeper.

You need to get some new glasses from Schpecslazers. The post office awkwardness and "not my bike" incident remind me of a time in Disney World Florida. There was a man in the queue for one of the rides and I just knew him from somewhere but couldn't place him. I was just about to speak to him when he spoke to his wife in German... Everyone has a doppelganger.
Bike looks lovely, but after the Motone "carb" covers, new seat and black badges it'll be finished, done - doesn't need anything else. When I worked at Halfords we had a catalogue of stripes and decals and a customer of ours ordered nearly everything in there for his Cavalier SRI and proceeded to fit the whole lot. He really didn't know quite when to stop😂. But it's your bike as they say 😊. Leave the new seat brown though.

It's your bike, you do what you want with it that makes you happy. Personally I wouldn't feel the need to get all black everything, but the new seat sounds like a good buy!
I feel like any time I've got on a bike there's something just off about the seat to peg height, and I'm just a regular 6 foot guy. I would assume it's because off the the showroom floor they're all more or less one size fits all. So a seat made for your own frame/build sounds like something I'll consider for myself one day...

Bike looks great. Yellow headlamp is a safety thing as it disperses your light in fog helping you to see better and prevents dazzle to oncoming motorists. Done the same on my Street Twin. It used to be mandatory in France in the 60's/70's I believe and you used to be able to buy lens paint and plastic headlamp covers for cars for holiday travel.

I’ll keep the mods light on my T120. Center stand, touring style windscreen, sump plate, radiator guard, brake light modulator, and possible some amber DRL’s on my engine bars. It’s a blank canvas for an interpretation its owner to fill in.

Indicators are horrible, need smaller billet ones, Headlight looks okay, grill is to far away from the light ! A little modification in order. Bar end mirrors would be another mod I would do. and a smaller rear light unit. Lovely bike, you do what you like its your bike, don't listen to us idiots Happy New Year

When you come to change the tyres you will find that the rear is radial and the front is crossply. I changed mine to the Conti Road attack 3 (both radial) tyres and found that the handling improved significantly.
Also Triumph do an indicator conversion kit to LED with clear lenses. They may look good.

@@2wheeledwillie395 yes, i have the clear LED indicators. The conversion kit is simple since you just change the lens and replace the bulb with the LED, rather than change the whole indicator stalk. You also have to tell the ECU that you are using LEDs, the instructions are easy to follow.

Please don’t take offence but I just don’t like all black bikes. I’ve owned a T120 and yes, they are a great bike, mine had the blue and white colour scheme. It was the closest I could get to match my first Triumph, a Tiger 90 that I had back in 1967.
No offence taken mate! I know black bikes aren't for everyone ..I'd have been just as happy with a blue and white one covered in chrome!
Technically, the headlight is illegal. Must show white light to the front. Yellow legal for fog lights only. Something else for you to fit. 😂😂👍

He's wrong, headlights can be white or yellow, the only dubious issue might be the grille, not the yellow section, but in honesty unless you're riding in a way that attracts negative attention most issues like this pass under the radar. Is the yellow grille from motone, can you add a link

The headlight on mine isn't that marvellous. I'm not not sure why you'd want to reduce its output still further but if you dont ride at night, its fine. Agreed it does look 'the business'. Oh, just realised you dont want my opinion on the light....

Speaking of torque my R1150GS has about the same amount of torque as the T120 at about the same revs. I like it to. However I can't talk about torque with discussing another bike I had a few years ago, with real torque, the type of torque in which you don't even care what gear the bike is in, or how slow you are going, or how long the line of cars is you want to pass type of Torque. 128 foot pounds of it actually at 2500 revs, or 167 Nm. It was like a freight train (2005 Yamaha XV 1900 Roadliner). That bike has gone now, but still have my BMW as well as a 2011 T100 Bonnie which I have listed for sale as we speak.
Why you selling the Bonnie mate?
It is a 2011 T100 bonneville, and even though I thought I might be able to ride it to replace the BMW, I found it very disappointing. I think I am at that age where it is difficult to impress me. I bought a brand new Suzuki 1050 a few yeas ago with all the bells and whistles, Hard Luggage, Cruise control, the lot, but only did 745 km on it before I sold it, very disappointed. On paper it was the Bees Knees, but in reality did not live up to the hype (in my head) I expected it to have. Perhaps I am at the end of my biking days. @@2wheeledwillie395

@@2wheeledwillie395 five years with it it tends to grow on ya I had to get the chrome a bit more reflective in headlights and the ☀..... then how their crankcases at times are about blended visually with really black tarmac.......also why I added the free spirits fork mounted mini head lamp that runs a 30 or 35 watt bulb rigged it in tandem with main 👀 (eye ball) they still try and pull out on us......

I have had pretty mixed results with Motone stuff. The seat I had was fine, but the fuel cap and brake fluid reservoir cover were very, very badly made and for the price I was appalled.

The bike looks great - I'm a fan of yellow headlight or spots. I'm deep in down the youtube rabbit hole looking at T100s and T120s as a replacement for my 1250GS. I'm doing a lot more city riding in London than I used and think this might a contender. Very different bikes, would like to hear of anyone else making a similar switch.
Hey Aidan, thanks for the comment..interesting to hear yr thinking of getting rid of the GS for a Bonnie...If I was just going to be doing mostly town riding then I'd have definitely gone for the T100, I test rode one and absolutely loved it but we're moving and my commute will be mostly A roads and motorways so I went with the T120 for the extra gear and a bit more power...but both bikes are amazing, good luck with your search..if you haven't already then check out The all year Motorcyclist channel, he's got a T100 gold line and loves it 👍

My solution for London riding was a Honda SH300 scooter (since I had no intention of giving up my RT). Anything like that will do. Your prime criteria should something weighing at least 80 kg lighter than the GS (say 170kg) . 250 cc + scooters will easily cruise at 65 mph. Every scooter-owning RT rider that I met seemed to have plumped for the SH300. If you get a T120 rather then a T100 for city commuting, then get a larger rear sprocket to help first gear out.

Like the light. Does the fly screen make any difference in terms of wind deflection? Bar end mirrors are next on my list after pannier rails. Loving my t120 ( I too recently came from royal enfield classic and interceptor). Do you watch classic rides? He’s got his bike nicely modded.

Looks cracking imo and i do like the headlight, not for everyone obviously. All the mods look good. With the seat I'd have tried something off piste like one the same colour as the spark plug caps. That definitely wouldn't be for everyone though! Lol

Hi Mark...the guard came with a separate yellow perspex lens , I got mine from ebay , I just put in bonneville t120 headlight guard and that came up...took 5 minutes to fit! I think they do the same one on Amazon too....ride safe buddy

The bike is looking good Willie if you like it then don't worry what others think it's your bike. I will say a black seat would be better with the overall look IMHO. I am a Chromosexual so it isn't my taste mine has stainless crash bars and pannier rails, chrome back rest and the paint is silver with red stripes and gold pinstripes so a very different look to yours but that's part of what makes the Bonneville special you can really make it your own.
