Love this. I think I'd put the pantograph on the front of the quilt with painters tape so that I can see both the laser and the stitching at the same time lol
April, would you mind posting the settings for your machine and the foot etc that you are using? I tried to figure it out from your video but couldn’t see the screen well enough. TIA! Your video is excellent for beginners!
Thank you for working that through I really would like to get a table top quilting top and I appreciate the fact that you took time to show how it works
I have the Qzone frame with a Brother 1500 and have quilted quilts of all sizes using the same method as you. I don't have a stitch regulator though, and now I want to get one. It does take a long time to quilt, because of all of the readjusting you have to do to continue a row and then move on to the next row. Despite that, I like that it fits in my sewing room! Love your videos! Thanks so much for sharing!
I'm afraid I might not be coordinated enough to stand, sew and make the 2 happen simultaneously. I am very impressed with your skill. :-). Thank yo so much for watching and sharing your experience with the Qzone Hoop Frame. April
April, I forgot to mention in my previous comment that I made leaders to go on the front and sides of my frame for when I get to last row of quilting or I'm quilting something small. I used strong fabric and hook&loop tape for easy on and off and use heavy duty metal Tpins for attaching my quilt to the leaders. It works great for last row of quilting. I think leaders can be bought but they were simple to make.
@@aprilscraftroom you are welcome! You have been a big help to me and I am glad to be of help to you! I had hoped I explained it okay, with the hook&loop tape close to the rail. I wanted to show a photo but couldn't.
Thanks this video is really helping me learn to quilt a paragraph!!! There is a big difference in quilting on a sit down longarm my sweet 16 and then trying to learn on a stand up longarm. But I am determined to do it.
I ordered a Q zone hoop frame to use with my Tiara, which is the same as the Sweet 16. Some places, including Grace Frame, told me I could not use the Tiara on there frames because it wouldn't fit. But it is within the measurements indicated. Does your Sweet 16 fit well?
@@petmomful2260 yes it fits, it works great. I just do not like the petal foot underneath the frame. I can not afford the upgrade to get rid of the foot petal.
@@annetteparsons398 Thanks so much. When I first inquired, they told me I could not use the Tiara. The reasons they gave me did not make sense. I did some research and every place I called told me a different story. It has been a very difficult situation that has been going on since April. But I think now it is figured out. Thank you for responding. Now I feel better, knowing it will fit, while I wait. The Tiara has the option of using a start and stop button on the touch screen. Doesn't the Sweet 16 have that?
Linda Evans Enjoyed watching your video and found it very helpful. I have a Janome 9400 qcp Are you using a grace speed control? If so were did you get this I'm under the impression that they do not make one to fit this model that I would have to use my foot pedal? I love using pantographs. Love your videos
Thank you for making this video! I bought my Q-Zone well over a year ago and I gave up on it, lol. To be fair I quit sewing for a long time. I'm just now getting back into it and am grateful to find your channel so I can quilt on my Q-Zone. The Pattern Perfect templates are still in the box and I haven't attempted to use it. Did you get that with your frame? I got several "free" items with mine as I bought the Q'nique 15R and frame at the same time. If I remember right I needed to purchase a stylus to use it but I need to open it up and reread the directions. Anyhow, thanks again and I liked and subscribed!
I don’t have the pattern perfect but I do know you need a stylus to use them. You will appreciate that you bought the 15r because that machine was made to work with that frame. I struggle most with trying to make my regular sewing machine do something it wasn’t made to do. Just be patient and realize it won’t be perfect but the more you play with it the better you will get. I have considered getting the qnique myself. I hope my videos will help. Thank you for watching. April
@@petmomful2260 I hope you like it. Be sure to buy or make cloth leaders for your frame. I made mine out of heavy material and hook and loop tape. I just attach to the frame and then pin to my quilt when I get towards the end so that I don't have to flip it. I made them for front and both sides.
@@itsmelaura1533 I am going to make some. I have been having a very hard time with the company because they don't seem to know what parts come with it, depending on what machine you use, and how much they are. I certainly hope they send me the right thing. I have found it too hard to push the quilt around on a table, so I am getting the frame. Thank you for the kind advice. I am not sure what you mean by flip it. Could you explain a bit?
@@petmomful2260 At about 13:47 April talks about getting to the end and she flips the quilt over to finish. With cloth leaders on the front you can just pin quilt to the leaders. I also made side ones for when I do small quilts like table runners or baby size. You are most welcome, I'm happy to help. I'm sorry you are having a hard time ordering, I hope they send you what you need.
Very nice!! I didn’t know you had this as we see you free motion. Fun fun !! I am thankful I was watching you doing it. 😀 love the quilt. Do you mind sharing the name of your quilt pattern. It’s very pretty.
The quilt pattern is one where I sewed 2 1/2" (jelly roll strips) together in sets of 4 and then cut them into blocks. I then rotated every other one so that the first one had the strips horizontally and the next one had the strips vertically. I added borders to that. The quilting pattern is Bubble Bath.
