One of my biggest wishes in life was too see Sondgarden play this song live. I'm from Argentina and they came just one time in 2014 for Lollapalooza, but didn't play this song. Too bad that's never going to happen now :(
Ima let you finish but AIC has the heaviest grunge records of ALL TIME. People still debate on whether they're a heavy metal band or a grunge band. I say heavy metal with grunge lyrics (Layne era) and leave it at that.

I met Chris in 1989. He wanted to be a rock star and he was. He was a great person and a wonderful song writer, as we know. He feared being irrelevant. He said that to me, a nobody, on Queen Anne, in a living room. I didn't know how great Soundgarden would be or how great this band would play. It's etched on my soul.

For Soundgarden to reunite and be playing and putting out new music was incredible. Chris Cornell still sounded amazing, even years later. but I bet after the shows, and when he wasn't working or spending time with his family, Chris Cornell's thoughts of depression probably got to him. when he was alone, he probably found it difficult to quite the noise in his head. he wasn't happy, despite his outward appearance. his death is very sad.

4th Of July
Soundgarden
Album: Superunknown
Shower in the dark day
Clean sparks diving down
Cool in the waterway
Where the baptized drown
Naked in the cold sun
Breathing life like fire
Thought I was the only one
But that was just a lie
'Cause I heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the fourth of July
Pale in the flare light
The scared light cracks and disappears
And leads the scorched ones here
And everywhere no one cares
The fire is spreading
And no one wants to speak about it
Down in the hole
Jesus tries to crack a smile
Beneath another shovel load
'Cause I heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the fourth of July
Heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the fourth of July
Fourth of July, July
Now I'm in control
Now I'm in the fall out
Once asleep but now I stand
And I still remember your sweet everything
Light a roman candle
And hold it in your hand
Heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the fourth of July
Heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the fourth of July, yeah
