While not from Seattle but still very much part of the scene, Scott Weiland was a tough loss as well. How close were we to losing so many others? How close ARE we to losing others? Master chef grunge god Chris Cornell. Grilled cheese and pizza was his favorite foods. Mostly pizza Before working at rays boathouse he was a pizza delivery guy. When I was younger I faintly remember being in a line and there was a bunch of old people naked in lines and I was behind a person and we were all facing a brick building. 4th Of July
    Soundgarden
    Album: Superunknown

    Shower in the dark day
    Clean sparks diving down
    Cool in the waterway
    Where the baptized drown
    Naked in the cold sun
    Breathing life like fire
Thought I was the only one
But that was just a lie
'Cause I heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the fourth of July
    Pale in the flare light
The scared light cracks and disappears
And leads the scorched ones here
    And everywhere no one cares
    The fire is spreading
And no one wants to speak about it
    Down in the hole
Jesus tries to crack a smile
    Beneath another shovel load
'Cause I heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the fourth of July
    Heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the fourth of July
    Fourth of July, July
    Now I'm in control
Now I'm in the fall out
Once asleep but now I stand
And I still remember your sweet everything
    Light a roman candle
And hold it in your hand
    Heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the fourth of July
    Heard it in the wind
And I saw it in the sky
And I thought it was the end
And I thought it was the fourth of July, yeah

I met Chris in 1989. He wanted to be a rock star and he was. He was a great person and a wonderful song writer, as we know. He feared being irrelevant. He said that to me, a nobody, on Queen Anne, in a living room. I didn't know how great Soundgarden would be or how great this band would play. It's etched on my soul.

For Soundgarden to reunite and be playing and putting out new music was incredible. Chris Cornell still sounded amazing, even years later. but I bet after the shows, and when he wasn't working or spending time with his family, Chris Cornell's thoughts of depression probably got to him. when he was alone, he probably found it difficult to quite the noise in his head. he wasn't happy, despite his outward appearance. his death is very sad.

My second favorite track of theirs...Limo Wreck being #1. I wish Soundgarden would do a tour with Ian Thornley of Big Wreck as the vocalist/guitarist. I'd pay $300 to see that show in a f'n heartbeat.
