+Haki Mann Thxs. He made my life so much better. I'm 17 and when I was 11 or 12 I got into Soundgarden and Audioslave. Since then I've been a fan and I just couldn't believe it when I heard the news on my radio. Chris is now resting in a good place. He is a true legend.
I think Kim Thayil is one of the most underappreciated rock guitarists I can think of. He doesn't focus on fast technical shredding or anything, but his playing is distinctive and he's penned so many crushing and memorable riffs in this band.
One of my favorite guitar solos of all time is Beyond the Wheel. I love the blues-based licks and bends combined with the outright noise. It’s viscerally gorgeous.
I love Soundgarden, Matt is my favorite drummer of all time, and Chris was my favorite singer of all time. Badmotorfinger totally blew my my mind when I was 15 years old in 1991, I listened to it thousands of times and I still love it. Chris, no one sings like you anymore, and no one ever will.
“If you start out playing for the love of playing music and getting better on your instrument, then you’ll always have that in your life” -Matt Cameron of SoundgardenVEVO. Read his full interview at interviews.guitarcenter.com/matt-cameron/
Having an instrument in your life is: having a pathway to mastery and passport to a whole bunch of transcendent moments of bliss and unexpected connection with strangers.
I never thought much of Matt Cameron as a great drummer, until I actually started learning some Soundgarden songs on drums and I found such huge appreciation for his drumming. He comes up with some amazing musical drum parts, and he's actually technical as well, without showing off. I'm learning so much from his playing and now I think of him as one of the greatest Rock drummers ever.
I met Soundgarden in Japan in 93 at Gas Panic. I was a bartender. I gave them free drinks and they gave me free tickets. Thanks guys. lots of fun. I had drum sticks and the drummer did some cool riffs for me too.
These are true musicians , It sounds like they all write music and know the instruments I wasn't really crazy about their style back then . The whole grunge thing I was hesitant on . But seeing as where music has gone from that time , I was a douche !!!!!!
I know what you mean. As I musician I envy this guys, it's so hard to find bandmates with their mentality this days... At least it is in my country, Spain.
+Tom Adams 2 years ago, I tried Soundgarden for the first time and it was difficult, I was barely attracted to them, they were to weird for me... Now they're my favorite band and I consider Superunknown to be a masterpiece, more than music, that album (and that band!) was and still is an experience... I love bands and album where every intruments is highlighted (not sure for the terms, English isn't my first language...) and Superunknow is plenty full of that... Insane music, brilliant lyrics, awesome production, beautiful atmosphere... It's hard to find albums that can match the perfection of Superunknow (Just like Tool's album)
InfinyteGard3n totally agree, when I first heard of Soundgarden back in the early 90's, it took me a few listens to get into them, but the more I listened to them the more I liked the music, to the point I can never get tired of it. Must have listened to Badmotorfinger and Superunknown hundreds of times!
That's why it's fun to find it out for yourself. I don't know any chord but I can play ac/dc, judas priest, venom, metallica, DEATH, kanses, anthrax, megadeth, jimi hendrix songs. Well, I know the E A and D the rest I just do stuff.
This summer I was lucky enough to have a sit down conversation with Cornell 1 on 1 before his solo acoustic show. He's a big inspiration to me as a musician, and he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met, so down to earth and he took the time to sign my Vinyls and take a picture. It was an amazing experience getting to meet him. We chatted for a good 20 minutes. Last year I flew down to Toronto to see Soundgarden , and it was hands down one of the best live performances I have ever seen. If you ever have the chance , I highly recommend getting out to a Soundgarden show. They do not disappoint!! Legends !!
oh man , so depressing. I was devastated hearing the news. Way to young, and gone far to soon. A true gentleman and legend. His music will live in our hearts/life forever.
Cody Gittins Wow, I'm glad for you that you had that opportunity. I'm a journalist and never got the chance to meet CC, and it blows that I never will. Who do I have left? Vedder?... Grohl?... 'No one sings like you anymore..." 💔
It's hard to express fully how I feel about this band and what have they brought to my life... but I can say for certain they changed my life. My classmate brought me their "Superunknown" back in the day, 10+ years ago now. And to be honest I didn't quite catch it "right on", it was a struggle. Some songs I liked, some I skipped intentionally. But now when I'm almost 30 I listen to the album and realize how much I love it. And nostalgia has nothing to do with it. It's the quality of the material, the diversity of writing and rhythm approaching, everything. Chris did a lot of beautiful stuff apart from Soundgarden (Audioslave for instance is also one of my most favourites), but this particular record speaks to me like nothing else. I don't know how to say this, but I think I should, cause there's a chance this happened not with me only. I've been listening to this album nonstop for the past few weeks. Everywhere - my iPhone, at home on my iMac, at work on a laptop with some speakers, literally everywhere. Enjoying and thinking about all I have said above... and then I wake up to the news of Chris' passing. It shocked me, it still does. This will take time to think over and live on, but now it is a wound for me, definitely... So, to all the people who read this and feel the same - hang on and may all of us find peace and may Chris rest, which he deserved by leaving the incredible heritage of art in music. Thank you
We should all be careful what we ask for..... you dream of stardom as a kid only to end up dead due real world problems involving your dreams coming true......or is it mental illness, drug addiction, bad genetics? In the end it’s a damn shame to see talent at this level get snuffed out....So once again be careful what you ask for.
If you've never heard Kim speak, then I can tell you have never seen any Soundgarden interviews before. Kim is always very vocal in interviews, and almost always the first one to initiate an answer to questions posed to the group.
As big as Soundgarden got I think they were under appreciated in the shadow of PJ and Nirvana. SG were around long before those bands but never really hit huge until 92 and especially 94. I still think they were the best band out of Seattle dating all the way back to the mid 80's. Cornell's ability to write pop hooks is equally as potent as someone like Cobain but Cornell did it with more than just power chords over a distortion box. Cameron and Shepherd wrote awesome riffs straight from left field and Thayil brought some great doom laden heaviness. That band was/is a collective with all parts bringing something great to the table. They were more inventive than any of the other bands, great bands too. They fucked with tunings, time signatures, polyrhythms, arrangements, riffing, and came out with something that can only be the mighty Soundgarden.
Shreddie Krueger PJ was shit. They were more mainstream and acceptable than SG. Stipid Vedder hanging from the ceiling at the Moore theater. Lame and boringnnnn
I think someone who knows and listens to soundgarden also knows their contributions to other seattle rock bands and wouldn't underestimate them. Those bands were all connected to each other actually, especially pearl jam and soundgarden.. you know the story. But when it comes to Nirvana..yeah they were, i dont want to say overrated, but they were in the foreground definitely. But you can't deny that nirvana kinda pulled attention towards Seattle which is a good thing for other bands.I dont know, i love 90's and i'm just glad that all these people exist. I hate comparing those bands because they are all like a family that i always want to be a part of. Also one more thing, i wouldn't say pearl jam overshadowed soundgarden. They're equally underrated bands if you ask me.
Yeah, and their music fucking hits the spirit with the force of a verse from Christ. Okay. Well maybe not that powerful, but it's up there. And you're not a fan. Such a shame.
Yep, i started to listenin'em like seven years ago, and i think its beacuse they are the least conventional band, i listened since my teen age Pearl Jam, Nirvana, STP a lot of bands, but SG really push the envelope anda can be a little hard to digest, i read the other day an interview with eddie vedder where he says that when Matt apports some song or concept to a song, pushes th others hard cuz his different approach to music, and i really love Pearl jam too.
One of the reasons why Soundgarden was great was the fact that all the members played guitar and wrote music for the band meaning that they were able to make really well written and diverse albums.
"We really created some piece of music that I think will be around for a long time" indeed my man, the legacy of Chris and Soundgarden still lives on. Thanks for the awesome and beautiful music.
These guys must be absolutely destroyed. I feel for them. Sad times for us. I think of Chris daily. I believe he will pass through my mind every day till the day I die.
Kim Thayil will always be my favorite grunge guitarist. He has the bluesy technique of Jimmy Page, the heaviness of Tony Iommi, and the alternate tuning textures of Keith Richards. I adore Soundgarden; probably the most technically gifted of the Seattle Sound.
@@drgetwrekt869I LOVE Alice too. Their music and Soundgarden's has probably aged the best of all the Pacific Northwest bands at the time. It's so dark and moody. I love it!!! Alice has the most amazing acoustic stuff!!
throughout all the grunge period, Soundgarden was it. Tight skills and really the best "grunge" sounds. Love these guys. Everytime I've seen them live, excellent. RIP CC
4 incredible musicians, one of the greatest bands of all time. Thank you so much Chris Cornell for inspiring me as a singer, songwriter, and guitar player. I saw SG last year at Carolina Rebellion, 2 weeks before CC died and it is a show I will forever be grateful for.
Benjamin Marlatt yeah pretty sad news, but the fact Matt is more famous as Pearl Jam drummer when Soundgarden wasn’t active as a band for over a decade
I honestly don't even LIKE Matt's drumming in Pearl Jam. He's got zero feel for their original songs, especially the ones they made before him. Pearl Jam has an insane groove that was lost after Dave Krusen and Dave Abrusseze. Matt is EXCELLENT in Soundgarden (and extremely innovative with his beats), that is where he fits IMO. I think he's serviceful, but kind of awful in Pearl Jam. He makes no attempt to play their original songs the way they are supposed to be and the live experience lacks because of that.
@@matthewheinecke2621, I spent 15 mins. in the lobby and couldn't go any further. I.M. Pei's architecture is the only redeeming inspirational positive facet, but even that doesn't make it a worthy visit. sad
Chris Cornell is the "Quinta-sentional" "Rock Star!" He's cool as fuck, Melow as fuck, Honest and Pure to his Art, and Fucking Geniune!! Thank You Chris!!!
I saw these guys in my youth at Lolapolooza in 1996 with Metallica, The Ramones, etc. Great show! Soundgarden is and always will be a magnificent band. They've aged, but in a good way. Kim Thayil looks like a wise Hindu guitar God! Awesome piece, good to see them again after all these years. P.S. I joined the "official" SG fan club in 93 or 94 by sending 5 or 10 bucks by mail to whomever it was, and I wonder if I'm still a member? They sent me a cool T-shirt and some stickers, but then that was it. Ha Ha!
What an important band for me growing up. I wish Chris would have been able to stick around for his family and the band. Thank you Soundgarden, bless your soul Chris.
RIP Chris Cornell. You helped get me into music, man. The first time I heard this record I knew immediately that I was a heavy music fan and I have carried that with me until today and will continue to carry it as long as I'm alive. Thank you for all you've done, and rest in power my friend.
At 38 years old I had never shed a tear over a musician. Now I just constantly wonder when the grief will subside. I know the elites that have gone before him, but you don't choose what stabs you in the heart. I hope there's a generation in the future worthy of falling in love with CC for the first time.
I was always an admirer of Soundgarden. It wasn't until I saw them live that the music really came alive. I am still so disappointed he is no longer with us.
Speaking of “wandering” there was an episode of a talk show called Lex and Terry where Chris was the guest one day on the show, and he was late coming into the studio, so the producer went looking for him and saw Chris casually wandering the hallways like a normal dude. They’ve interviewed rock stars of all walks and said Chris was just that… a normal dude, and they loved that about him.
I met Matt Cameron in August of 1990 at the Boathouse. Soundgarden was opening up for Danzig, although it felt more like a dual headliner for me and my friends. We were around the back of the club when we saw Matt leaving the bus to go backstage...I took a chance and yelled out "Matt!" and waved. He came over and took a few minutes to talk to us. I'll never forget, he had the strongest handshake I'd ever experienced. He was a super chill dude and very kind to spend time with us. I've always admired his playing, but his personality is even better!
Still cant believe Chris took his own life..so sad.He is the one that made me listen to this kind of music and find out how genius it is.RIP Chris you will be missed ..wish strength to his loved ones and family
God I miss these guys... I have been a fan since the 90s and finally I got to see them last year 2017 at Rockville... Best damn gig I have seen, and I've seen many... Of course that was just a temporary glow as we all know what happened shortly after that... RIP Chris, and thanks for the memories and the legendary music!
I met them in Seattle and spent time with them. All very sincere. All very talented. My one and ONLY listenable "grunge" band, besides the screaming trees
Soundgarden's music touched my heart, it gave my life a soundtrack. I hope it does the same for future generations. It's not just dark pessimistic grunge. It's beautiful hard rock in the same way of Zeppelin and Sabbath.
Not much of a Soundgarden fan, but I give Kim Thayil credit for keeping track of all those alternate tunings he uses and when to use them at the right time so he doesn't accidentally grab the wrong-tuned guitar. Also, tuning all the strings to E on "Mind Riot" is quite a novel idea.
I'm sure he'd thank you for that. It will probably mean alot coming from someone of your stature in a money making music industry. Are you going to sign him?
Music is the fuel for our souls. Thank you for this video ❤️❤️❤️ Chris Cornell, I never realized how much space you occupied in me until you were gone. Thank you for your music, lyrics and career. You were such an amazing looking guy too. So sad you're gone, but you'll be in our hearts and minds forever.
4:20 - I don't know what that is... but I sure as hell know its a Kim and his purple Ibanez chorus pedal. fucking brilliant. the cornerstone of so many good SG songs
It's my favourite song full stop. Superunknown also happens to be my favourite album, and SG my favourite band. But Head Down-that's my song. Nothing's ever resonated more accurately, the sound of life, to me. My life, sure. But mainly just...life. Chris's dual vocal personas-protagonist and antagonist: the cold, disembodied, cruel, thin, alien, manipulator. The Tormentor. Impassive; Impenetrable. "We see you smile, we turn your head, then we slap your face. BOW DOWN, BOW DOWN, BOW DOWN TO LIVE YOUR LIFE." So be it. The human response: indomitable will to survive. Tormented. Bowed. Silenced. Stultified. *Alive* A mote, invisible, not even a speck, beneath the oppressive, choking, seemingly permanent abyssal winter gloom. Weathering the storm. Conserving, harbouring, protecting. A lightless glint in the eye, a slightly upturned corner of the mouth. Occulted. For now. Eventually, a spine unfurled, a breath of air, drawn deep into the lungs and held: firmament for the chest & back. Two glinting, shining eyes. A half-smile, no longer hidden. A head held high-exhultant. Like my favourite Soundgarden song :)
Its amazing how the bands music takes you to another world when you listen to it. Chris was truly a gift from the gods, along with all the other musicians we lost and the ones that we still have. This music has gotten me through some tough times and i truly cannot thank them enough for all theyve done for me
they're an incredible band, all 4 are amazing musicians and great songwriters, and of course chris cornells incredible vocals and songwriting take them over the top, RIP chris!
Still can't believe Chris is gone, but this was an uplifting interview. Love hearing the guys talk about their approach, experimentation, and influences. Laughed out loud at Ben recounting how he recorded Head Down on the spot and his drumming was like someone falling down the stairs. Love that Ben and Matt are into Mingus. Aside from their music, I could listen to them talking about this stuff forever. Such talent, such likeable dudes.
Just to kind of explain a thing for people so they don't have to look it up if they don't know: the people in this video are singer Chris Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil, bassist Ben Shepherd, and drummer Matt Cameron. At one point in the video, Kim mentions "Chris and Hiro". He is referring to former bassist Hiro Yamamoto, who left the band before Badmotorfinger. Also, Matt mentions "4 or 5 guys in a band", but Soundgarden has never been more than a four-piece. This is because Matt is also a member of Pearl Jam, a band with 5 members, and has been since before the album Binaural, which came after Soundgarden's original breakup.
One of the most underrated bands in music history & easily the best thing from the grunge era!! The real difference is Cornell. As a single writer/singer/musician he’s just a giant & one of the greatest to ever do it!
I think this video makes clear that the genius of Soundgarden is due to all 4 members being talented songwriters.
RIP Chris. You will be missed

Badmotorfinger es probablemente el mejor álbum grunge alguna vez creado. El riff intro de Room a thousand years wide es de otra galaxia 🔥
Rest In Peace Chris.... we'll always love you.
RIP from Portland.
Amen from the UK...
I am saddened by the blatant depression you can see in Chris’ eyes.
When Kim says: "Domestication of the material" is such a good way of describing the conflict between playing a song live versus recording. Genius.
This is the most interesting thing about playing on a band alive and on a record, good point man
Kim guitar playing excerpts: 0:00 (Superunknown), 1:56 (Let Me Drown), 4:07, 6:42 (Non-State Actor), 9:35 (Spoonman)

I think Kim is a Philosopher who just happens to know how to play guitar.
Gritando Vida He has a degree in Philosophy
They all are
Hes a genius. Definitely love his note selection and the rhythms he uses.
he has a degree in philosophy from the university of washington lol
He's like Osho, but he spreads his mediunic messages through guitar

+Lucas, there's only maybe 7 or 9 chords tops, so shouldn't be too difficult right? lol
I learned in the same way, from a chord book on a guitar with no strings, aged 12.
Rick Cox sooo wrong. there are thousands of chords
Lucas Weiman Guitar absolutely that's bad to the BonE
Sometimes when a major rock star passes on you realize how much of a impact they had in your life without really knowing.

Guitar is a universal instrument, really
2 Guitarist, 1 Bassist, 1 Drummer

Yep, i started to listenin'em like seven years ago, and i think its beacuse they are the least conventional band, i listened since my teen age Pearl Jam, Nirvana, STP a lot of bands, but SG really push the envelope anda can be a little hard to digest, i read the other day an interview with eddie vedder where he says that when Matt apports some song or concept to a song, pushes th others hard cuz his different approach to music, and i really love Pearl jam too.
did you ever hear "Fell on Black Days" that song is amazing
One of the reasons why Soundgarden was great was the fact that all the members played guitar and wrote music for the band meaning that they were able to make really well written and diverse albums.
and they were cerebral, non-scumbags that kicked ass.
"We really created some piece of music that I think will be around for a long time" indeed my man, the legacy of Chris and Soundgarden still lives on. Thanks for the awesome and beautiful music.
rip Chris Cornell you will be missed
"I sat there and learnt every chord in that book, and finally I got a guitar" - he said, holding a bass ....
I could be one of those rare cases of a bass player that also owns a guitar
*learned
Isn't it called a bass guitar?
He plays guitar as well
That is a guitar.. A lot of great bass players also play guitars
I adore Soundgarden; probably the most technically gifted of the Seattle Sound.
idk dude. between Alice in Chains and Soundgarden, sure Seattle produced some of the best music and talent ever
@@drgetwrekt869I LOVE Alice too. Their music and Soundgarden's has probably aged the best of all the Pacific Northwest bands at the time. It's so dark and moody. I love it!!! Alice has the most amazing acoustic stuff!!
Say hello 2 heaven Chris Cornell I'm still listening to all his music
20 years old now and I'm still captivated by the amazing and Unique sound of Soundgarden
Man, I love when Ben tells the story about how he wrote Head Down, its my favorite SG song. That man is a genius and one of my favorite bass players.
throughout all the grunge period, Soundgarden was it.
Am I the only one that thinks it's not right that the Rock Hall of Fame recognizes Matt Cameron for Pearl Jam and not Soundgarden?
I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about what the Rock Hall is doing. Waste of time. That place is a joke.
CJay Ramone was rejected when the Ramones were inducted, the rock n roll Hall of fame is a joke, completely irrelevant.
@@matthewheinecke2621, I spent 15 mins. in the lobby and couldn't go any further. I.M. Pei's architecture is the only redeeming inspirational positive facet, but even that doesn't make it a worthy visit. sad
I really love them! I'm a drummer and Matt Cameron is one of my biggest idols.. such a great drummer
+Angel Sanchez
One of the best. I need a drummer like him.
I can't believe he is no longer here , love u Chris Cornell. RIP
Soundgarden is by far my favorite band. These guys were pioneers of an entire era of music
I wish I could just watch Kim Thayil play the full tracks. His play of the riffs is so sharp
it's just awful that there will never be more SG music. I love these guys. My condolences to all who loved Chris. We miss him so much.
Soungarden it's so unique. Every single member it's insanely unique and talented...
RIP Chris..long live Soundgarden!!
Bad ass band with a bad ass heavy sound. A life changer.
Chris Cornell is the "Quinta-sentional" "Rock Star!" He's cool as fuck, Melow as fuck, Honest and Pure to his Art, and Fucking Geniune!! Thank You Chris!!!
Fuck yeah. You fucking better fucking believe you fucking fuck.
Fucking great fucking band. Fucking a. Fuck!
Keven Carson Quintessential * mellow*
wtf my grandmother is better at english than u
RIP
常盤勝男 * you
I saw these guys in my youth at Lolapolooza in 1996 with Metallica, The Ramones, etc. Ha Ha!
Ben wrote Head Down? It's amazing! A song I've listened to a zillion times. Wow. What a mammoth of talent, those guys. Sigh.
Hats off to whoever shot this video. The cinematography is amazing.
Superunknown has a special place in my heart. Takes me back to my youth and good memories
Watching Kim Thayil do the riffs to "Spoonman" made me smile.
Long Live Chrus Cornell and Soundgarden.
At 38 years old I had never shed a tear over a musician. Now I just constantly wonder when the grief will subside. I know the elites that have gone before him, but you don't choose what stabs you in the heart. I hope there's a generation in the future worthy of falling in love with CC for the first time.
Chris Cornell is amazing.
Was :'( R.I.P Chris
Jesus Aponte Velasquez yeah. Gonna miss him..
I was always an admirer of Soundgarden. It wasn't until I saw them live that the music really came alive. I am still so disappointed he is no longer with us.
This is the first Soundgarden video that i watched which has no "noone sings like you anymore" in the top comments.....how refreshing.
I came here hoping to see footage of the band wandering into Guitar Center and playing guitars. This was nice.
It's odd how at 4:30 Chris Lists "Suicide" and "Black Hole Sun" as Experimentation. R.I.P. Chris.
He mentioned Half
@M.H. Pech It is not. Not even close!
I always forget how much Kim influenced my guit playing. Love that dude.
Still cant believe Chris took his own life..so sad.He is the one that made me listen to this kind of music and find out how genius it is.RIP Chris you will be missed ..wish strength to his loved ones and family
Epic Band! The music will be timeless.
God I miss these guys... I have been a fan since the 90s and finally I got to see them last year 2017 at Rockville... Best damn gig I have seen, and I've seen many... Of course that was just a temporary glow as we all know what happened shortly after that... RIP Chris, and thanks for the memories and the legendary music!
we lost another great artist one of my absolute favorites. gone way too soon. R.I.P Chris Cornell
RIP Chris. You're one of the reasons I picked up the guitar. I can't thank you enough for the memories and the stories.
You'll be missed.
I met them in Seattle and spent time with them. All very sincere. All very talented. My one and ONLY listenable "grunge" band, besides the screaming trees
Super Unknown and down on the upside are my two favorite albums, ever, and both by the same band, absolutely incredible !
Soundgarden's music touched my heart, it gave my life a soundtrack. I hope it does the same for future generations. It's not just dark pessimistic grunge. It's beautiful hard rock in the same way of Zeppelin and Sabbath.
Your music will be around forever, Chris, and you will be missed forever. Thanks for all the great songs, which were like a soundtrack to my youth.
6672rock tuning all the string to same note is done by Lou Reed, thou
+TheZooropaBaby I remember Chris talking @ a chance/encounter w/ Lou Reed & a mutual desire to get together on A .... (?).....Project (?)
All 4 members wrote with weird tunings. Chris is the one who wrote mind riot in that tuning.
Kim is a beast on guitar..
WOW!!!! This the greatest interview session EVER, like EVER out of everything
Kim Thayil is cool
The sound that comes out of Kim playing a guitar is just ridiculous!
I love all these guys.
RIP Chris Cornell
4:20 - I don't know what that is... but I sure as hell know its a Kim and his purple Ibanez chorus pedal. fucking brilliant. the cornerstone of so many good SG songs
Except that Kim is universally known for playing Guilds
ESELHESTESELHEST Ibanez chorus pedal.
+BlueLead1945 no, solid guitar. Google it if you want
except that "so many good SG songs" means Sound Garden songs! duh.
I love that sound, Cobain used this also on their shows in 91/92 (and I dont' mean the chorus pedal in SLTS or CAYA ;) )
Very cool guys. Thankful for their powerful music. Chris was incredibly talented, may he never be forgotten.
'Head Down' is the best.
fucking poetic, you're so tough!
BOW DOWN, BOW DOWN, BOW DOWN TO LIVE YOUR LIFE."
So be it.
This music has gotten me through some tough times and i truly cannot thank them enough for all theyve done for me
Man miss u Soundgarden and really miss Chris RIP brother gone to fking soon man!!!
Soundgarden's music/art helped me in so many ways growing up and their music still does. I listen to them every day. Music therapy!
Legends.
they're an incredible band, all 4 are amazing musicians and great songwriters, and of course chris cornells incredible vocals and songwriting take them over the top, RIP chris!
That guy's the bassist for Soundgarden? He looks like a truck driver. That's so cool.
Yeah he also wrote some of their best songs
+Jew Adolf Jesus Christ Pose, Head Down, Zero Chance, Black Rain, Slaves & Bulldozers, Ty Cobb, Face Pollution, Rowing etc...
@@anonymoususer2756 Had no idea he wrote Black Rain. Amazing track.
Slaves and Bulldozers is an awesome jam
A genius and live a beast
Still can't believe Chris is gone, but this was an uplifting interview. Love hearing the guys talk about their approach, experimentation, and influences. Laughed out loud at Ben recounting how he recorded Head Down on the spot and his drumming was like someone falling down the stairs. Love that Ben and Matt are into Mingus. Aside from their music, I could listen to them talking about this stuff forever. Such talent, such likeable dudes.
Soundgarden is timeless
The love and respect they feel for each other is just amazing. I can only imagine how devastating they are with Chris passing.
R.I.P. CHRIS.. we know you were taken from the world...🙌💔
To this day this is one of my favourite Albums, a work of true art.
One of the greatest band, and the best singer of course
Is it just me or is Kim's tone at 9:35 better than the actual recording
For how heavy these guys play this was a really enjoyable and relaxing vid to watch. Love getting behind the musick like this.
we're not worthy we're not worthy
very simply put my friend...ah that's great!
One of the most underrated bands in music history & easily the best thing from the grunge era!! The real difference is Cornell. As a single writer/singer/musician he’s just a giant & one of the greatest to ever do it!
