I have this in MC with me in Afghanistan. Its kind of small but holds alot comfortably, I can carry 3 days worth of stripped MREs, water, radio, batteries, pyro, cold and wet weather gear, shit a package of oreos and then some. Made it up some shitty mountains in shitty conditions and carried everything i needed and more comfortably and the bolstered pads hug my plate carrier and the pack site snug and doesnt roll back and forth on my back.
Same pack was my bag in Iraq. Can't say enough about how great it is. Expensive but worth it. Keep in mind it was designed for the military, but works great for other treks.
John Lindsey Has served me awesome as my mountain ruck for over three years now. Of all the packs I've had this years, this remains my favorite and still in my inventory.
This review is why after a day of reading hundreds of reviews and looking all over the interwebs to see if there is anything better....... Im buying this pack
Yeah, I remember seen Dana Gleason mentioned that in another video. But I guess they left them there because soldiers probably found them useful for other things as well. And they are pretty wide. I can fit a Nalgene through them (if there is nothing on the mesh pocket). But if the pack is stuffed, and you have the waist belt tucked away, you might only be able to fit a semi-flat object, or nothing too thick. I usually will fit my trekking poles through there.
Depends. What do you mean by EDC? Because we all do and carry different things every day. If your every day means working on the field, carrying tools and gear all day long, and some other items in between (like a volunteer working on reconstructing a trail or a park Ranger), or going from school or the office commuting in a car, bike or metro?
I'm already got camelbak trizip after watching your reveiws. Actually I find you everywhere on the Internet (like when I'm searching for info about Condor hoodie :) ). Still I'm thinking about MR. Thanks for review... I will watch it now. :)
Black Diamond Trail Back trekking poles. They are a basic model, but work great and can take a beating. Best of all, you can find them for around $40 on Amazon.
@GenKraid That's great! I don't know what state you live in, but hope it doesn't take too long to get to you. And that shipping ain't that heavy. But once you get it, have fun! Is a fun pack to have, because of all the things you can do with it.
Well, I am wanting something to carry back and forth from the office to include computer, accessories and typical preparedness items, fire kit, first etc. In addition, I would also like to use that same bag for day hikes, and overnighters. Also, would use it for going to the gym to exercise...gym clothes, shoes, health and comfort. Thanks
The 3DAP is an awesome pack. BUT, I wouldn't use it for my EDC. For what you mention, I would instead use other packs. Arc'Teryx has some good packs that can pull double duty, and are comfortable as hell. If you want something more military, look at some of Camelbak's offerings. For my self, I use my TAD Fast Pack EDC for that. I'll be uploading a video review soon (tonight probably) so if you want you can wait to see that video as well.
@Ramiel77 Thanks, brother! The guy says that its mint and includeds a flip lid box. He lives in Switzerland, so I haven't heard back from him yet. I hope that mine was the first PM!
Hey Ramiel, I noticed you posted on the zombie hunter forums. I really loved your beavertail modification for the tri-zip. Where did you order all of your materials? I'd like to make one like yours.
I honestly could not tell you how they compare besides cargo capacity. I've never owned anything from Kifaru (planning to tho) so I have no real experience to compare them by.
Ah, hell... I just saw someone selling this in black for $262.50 (strange pricing) and committed to buy. I don't know why, but I figured at that price, I should try it out.
I think you mentioned that your GF has a Sweet Pea. Will a Sweet Pea hold a Crye JPC with plates, 6+ magazines, gears, jackets pants, etc..for purpose of a range bag? Or just bite the bullet and get the 3DAP?
@GenKraid Awesome man! I must admit I am a bit jealous. I mean, black might not be my pack color, but an awesome pack at a great price is one of the sweetest things in life for gear junkies like me. Hahahaha. (But don't tell that to my wife), and the flip top box makes it even better. I've been looking at getting me one. Hope you don't mind me asking for you to post a video of the flip top box once you get it. ;]
Joshua Mueller I believe they have a smaller one that also looks slicker, meaning it doesn't have much of the tacticool factor, it might be suitable for you
eBay most of it. Just search for 500 or 1000 D Cordura, and for "milspec webbing" and there should be plenty of options that pop-up. you can also search there for the buckles and hardwear. But I got those from MilSpecMoneyk(dot)com, from their store. They have pretty good prices and you can buy it in different quantities, and they are pretty good with shipping. Check out also SupplyCaptian(dot)com. They have good prices and selection as well.
I'm trying to find a bag for work that will carry a laptop, waterbottle, have some organization for small items, and more room just in ase i need to carry more stuff.

@Ramiel77 Of course, brother! Looks like I did get it. Working out the shipping details now. I'll let you know when I can get a video up! :)

Thanks. I look forward to that video, been looking at the Fast pack EDC, mystery ranch 3 sap and kifaru xray. Thanks

I really like this, I was eventually looking to get one in multicam.

I probably missed it but where did you get the padded hip belt? Do you have a link? Thank you and great video
They used to make them. They don't anymore. A mistake in my opinion, since it helped make the belt more comfortable

Great video! Thank you 👍
@GenKraid Really? Wow! Lucky you man. That's the price for the MR Sweetpea, new. What condition is the pack on?
So you like this pack better than a TAD lite speed or EDC?
Yep. I do. In fact, I have sold my other two TAD packs, and have kept the 3DAP this whole time.
What are your thoughts on the MR 3DAP as an EDC size wise? Thanks
@AndrettiUA Haha, yeah, I've been around. I should probably make a review of that Condor jacket as well huh? And well, thanks for watching!
How does this compare to the Kifaru X-ray? I am trying to decide between these two packs.
I honestly could not tell you how they compare besides cargo capacity. I've never owned anything from Kifaru (planning to tho) so I have no real experience to compare them by.

I'll get it up as soon as the video uploads and I edit it. It's a huge file so it might take a while :P

got my 3DAP and loving this pack. it's serving my need and then some. thanks for the review.

Thanks for the review!
Excellent review, Sir. :)
I’d love to use this as an edc but I feel like the tactical look draws too much attention

Can you carry a laptop? Is there a nice slot for it?
I'm trying to find a bag for work that will carry a laptop, waterbottle, have some organization for small items, and more room just in ase i need to carry more stuff.
