The pack came in a few weeks ago and the medium yoke fit really well! I would also suggest to anyone buying the pack to dish out the 5 bucks and get the webkeepers with the pack if they want to manage the straps. I didn't realize they offered them until I spoke with them via facebook after I received the pack and the shipping to get it to Canada was like $30. Ended up buying velcro strips at home depot.
Awesome man! Glad I was able to help. And yeah, I use Velcro strips on mine as well. Specially on the 3DAP been a military model, comes with extra long straps to accommodate for body armor and all other possible things you will have on you (i.e. pouches, plates, hydration carrier), so I made my own velcro straps as well, or used a couple from my TAD packs. But eventually, I just cut down the straps to the length I want them to be (cut off about 5 inches on each side). Now they're just perfect.
Yes, you can place a sleeping bag there. It would help if your bag is a smaller size, and not one of those huge Wal-Mart sleeping bags that are larger than the pack it self. I my self have carried tents at the bottom of the pack plenty of times.
Look great for long patrols (for soldiers) and for really long days in the mountains, where you have to haul a ton of equipment for a climb. But size wise, is outside my needs or wants. The 3DAP is plenty big for me.
Just wondering how bad the fit was for you with the small yoke? Could you have lived with it or was it really that bad? I put in an order and really don't want to send it back and wait another 2 weeks or so. Im on the fence weather or not I should be getting the medium as well. BTW - nice review!
I traded a Mystery Ranch Cabinet that I got from a Para Rescue guys from my unit for a 3 day assault from someone on a forum. I don't know much about these, but mine has straps in front of that molle panel on the inside where the water bladder goes. I notice from videos, that there's a few different variations of this pack. Mostly just around that bladder area. If I knew how to upload a pic I would
For my size, with a 41-42inch chest, it was just way too small. It would have been painful for me to carry any considerable amount of weight with it. Besides been too thin, it was too short, so the buckles that connect the straps to the pack, were almost at mid chest level, instead of under my arm pits, where they should be. Even the Medium Yoke isn't 100% for me. It works and is comfortable, but I believe I could get more if they were about an inch or two longer.
No man, sorry, I've never seen a Komodo, since it's a fairly new pack. But I have no doubt it would be just as good as the 3DAP; specially if you want the extra space. 38L of space is a bit much for me, for a day pack. But I know some people want/need the extra capacity.
@that515 Tried making a video last time I was up in the mountains, so I could give a field review. But the wind was so crazy that you couldn't hear half of what I was saying. Will have to be a table top review. But maybe I'll throw in the other video just for fun.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I'll be going with a medium yoke!

Have you had a chance to use the Komodo Dragon? I can't find a review
anywhere!
The Medium Yoke, MR told me, fit's about 85% of people, so hopefully it will work best for you. Let me know how it goes!

The organization becomes better if you put some military puches in it.
What you think of the komodo dragon?
