Mystery Ranch 3DAP (Three Day Assault Pack) Overview, My Most Used Backpack

  • To much demand, this is a longer video of mine. The overview of the Mystery Ranch 3DAP setup Ive used the most in my photos and in my training/patrols. I go over the entire loadplan, a good companion video is my video on the Velocity Systems Jungle Kit where I go over the contents of some of the Magpul DAKA pouches shown inside the pack. If using the Airlite chest rig, these pouches would be inside my pack instead of inside the GP on the belt kit, hence why they are in the video. Any questions, feel free to comment or message me!

I grew up in FL and only recently moved away. Water is such a major thing and people underestimate it because there is so much water in the state.

I’m absolutely loving the videos man! Thanks! If it’s possible, I’d love to see you get home setup, that would awesome to see and learn from. I wish I didn’t have to worry about all of my cold weather gear I have to take with me, but I’m happy I dialed a lot of that stuff in this past winter. Thanks again!

Places like Texas and Florida can pretty much skip most of the cold weather gear for at least 10 months out of the year. As long as you stay dry, you shouldn’t have a problem with hypothermia.

The biggest killer in Florida is the insects. Mosquitos, ticks, no see ums, wasps, spiders, caterpillars you get the picture. Having a bug net for your head is not enough. Something like a full bug mesh jacket is mandatory if you don't want to catch disease or get carried away by blood sucking mosquitos. When I go on rucks through swampy areas I have a congo line of mosquitos that follow me for miles. If you don't have a hydration bladder and need to stop to hydrate they will make you their bitch.

Nice looking pack. I just prefer a bucket type pack.
Opening from front zip, straps and back are on the ground. If it's wet raining muddy...at very least you have a wet pack on your back.
A 40 45 Lt bucket type any brand. If it's got molle attach a SAW or a GSR gasmask case. Now you got some access without going in. Pack frequent use stuff outside.
The best thing about this is it increases the footprint of base of pack. Now it will pretty much all the time sit up on its base, keeping crap off the back and your shoulder straps

The Glock is actually a half decent e-tool. If you want one that is absaloutely bulletproof (not literally) but isn't quit as compact as the Ames, Gerber, Glock or whatever the Cold Steel one is crazy. Had my first one for years and haven't managed to kill it yet.
I am a bit of an e-tool junkie so I will likely have a Glock soon as well.

If you're looking for them, THEY are looking for you, ditch any bright colors that will give you away ,that yellow first aid kit leave it at home- put it all in your p-mag ,ditch that net ,that laptop, and everything that goes with it, you can do all that on your mobile phone- jumper battery, dig a hole burry shit ,trash , bring unscented ass wipes tp, remember your on the Move,. Your not going camping ! Now that you got rid of alot of crap bring that helmet for nods, don't forget ammo and food , remember your on the RUN, but no one can see you moving. Love you Buddy.
