Leader's Plate Carrier: Crye Precision Airlite SPC
Recently switched plate carriers and decided to give an overview on my new setup. The Eagle Industries Aero, while an excellent plate carrier, is quickly becoming outdated with the advent of hydrophobic plate carriers.

Просмотров 5 тыс.Год назад
In this video I give a quick overview on a multipurpose setup I am messing around with. the base is a Surus Operations Macro Expander rig, modified to accept the Crye Precision Airlite chest rig harness. I am planning for this to be both flexed into a leadership setup and a recce setup. As always, feel free to comment with any questions! . . . Linktree: linktr.ee/opfor8r Hit The Woodline: www.h...

I haven't seen many references or mentions to these humble, yet useful low tech markers, so I figured I would make a video showing how to make them. Its an old school infantry thing, and I hope you gain something from this video. As always, feel free to comment! Swamp Considerations III: Patrol (Step Off to Patrol Base Ops)

The climactic conclusion to the Swamp Considerations series. Video covers patrolling, from the step off to movement to some thoughts on what to consider when setting up your patrol base. Pretty long, longer than I expected and yet still I feel theres much to discuss. As always, comment below with questions or comments, this video is best consumed on a long car drive. . . . Swamp Considerations II: Planning/METT-TC
Просмотров 2,7 тыс.2 года назад
This is Part II of Swamp Considerations. I cover planning for wetland operations and things to bear in mind, including "enemy" forces and what groups to draw from as a unit pool. This is focused more for those planning civilian side operations as opposed to just everyone in the group, but it should help all who watch it. As always, thank you for the support! . . . Swamp Considerations I: Equipment and Preplanning (Gear, Clothing, Boots, Maps)
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
This is the first of what I hope to be a small series on lessons learned and planning considerations for operations in a wetland environment. I use the terms swamp, wetland, marsh, bog, interchangably; however they are technically different biomes. This is the "primer", there is so much to cover and this video is the surface. I trust you all will enjoy this, this is much more of what I want to ...

Rundown of my Plate Carrier Setup! Eagle Industries Aero (SOFBAV) @opfor8r
How much has running the pack slick on your body armor as opposed to bolsters been a factor for you?
A great review of a cool rig from a fellow Florida Man™, always a pleasure.
What was the bathroom situation like?
@@Billhetfield333 during class time there are portajohns available
@@opfor8r are there chuck norris jokes in them?
I keep thinking there’s a hair on my phone
Hey could you make a tutorial on how to make that scrim? I love the way it looks and have no idea how to make one
Everything I have heard by many people on this class is that is 90% about water!
$600 is hilarious and ridiculous.
Is this more like a British PLCE webbing?
Me: “I bet there’s some army nerd who’s made a video on how to make a really good fox tail” *types into RUclips* “how to make a fox tail” *search results populate* Me: “ahhh… I under estimated the popularity of the furry community on RUclips, this is the opposite of what I’m looking for”
How do you passive NV without crashing into the scope ?
They beefed up the spring in the slide release. That was most likely your problem. Especially since you have a first run gen5 34.
Where is your IFAK?
How long did it take them to respond to your emails? I've contacted them twice and haven't got an answer back. I want to sign up but I have questions first.
Bro why would you only show the gun with the slide locked? What's the point
You need a ridgeline on your hammock.
I just purchased one ,and now completely baffled why anyone uses a bump helmet….. that’s pretty stupid considering weight
So can one of these hold or carry 25 lbs ?
Nice, you can only have a gen 3 in Cali. I love my 34 with that long 1911 slide.
Fuck yea water
What r the pouches u talked about on ur cummerbund
Have a jpc2.0, but rly want to try spc. Thoughts between the two?
They are both proven systens
you should get the Trex arms triple mag placard as it holds 6 mags
Link to where we can get this gear?
Excellent
You carry too much Crap though in your LBV, most of that should be in your Patrol pack, I had 6+1 mags(28 rds loaded) iFAK, compass M9 lensetic, 2 Canteens(NBC), pace counter, Red Micro light, admin Pouch with Map, protractor alcohol pens Garmin Etrex and AN/PVS-14, camo stick, and 2 packs of smokes and a can of Dip, 3 IR chemights. 1 canteen has cup and stove and 2 heat tabs the other has Clortabs(iodine tabs) . Buttpack( old school type) has Ponch and woobie rolled and sinched under the pack, inside I had a set of waterproof bags 1 with clean shirt x1, 2x clean dry socks. The other has calories, usually alot of beef jerky, rat fucked MRE and hygiene items like baby wipes. Outside of waterproof pouches I had 50' of 550 cordage, tiny sew kit, a few feet of 100 mile tape and more chemists and second pair of mechanic gloves. Leatherman is dummy corded in my left trouser pocket and a trench Hawk(tomahawk) left of Butpack to use as trenching tool and hooch building. My uniforms for the field are impregnated with permitherin so not much needed for bugs. And washing said uniforms was always in cold water and hunting soaps, this is to minimize IR Glow because we always had to run from the OH-58 Kiowa warrior helos. A Camelbak is often in the kit worn separately over suspenders OR in the Patrol pack.
34:40 jolly ranchers are better imo because menthol inhibits your sense of smell
i was Opfor at Ft Polk for a long time pre-9/11 moving through thick brush and patrolling this was way quieter and easier to do rowdy stuff vs the post 9/11 plate carrier. im in florida too so def the best way to work the land patrol better.
what is magazine pouches on the side?
Great job!
What is that compound?
Where is the alarm from
Slick/semi-slick plate carrier with a belt rig under/over is goated for dismounted movement. It's become my new favourite for its comfort and variability. I can always take the armor off.
Try the swedish m84 canteen and cup
Can a gi style canteen fit in the inner elastic pockets
Make more videos
I hope that break on there is because you run a can mostly
The nightcap is great. I modded mine with an OpsCore H-Nape chinstrap and it made a world of difference. It requires an absurd amount of counterweight though.
17:10 is why you get the like. Among other reasons of course lmao. Great video
What’s the point of having a front sight post with all that junk hanging on that rifle? Trash rifle
I’m located in central Alabama and I have to say I agree 100% with the video and presentation. People don’t understand how abundant and challenging an environment like this can be. It can be an infinite resource or a quick death if you aren’t knowledgeable and adapted for it. Great content, hope to see more like this!
What boots are you highlighting? You mention the Salomon XA Ultra as a no-go since it's too thin. But you don't mention the model for the Salomon you used and liked.
Salomon Jungle Ultra
I love my Eagle h harness it’s very reminiscent of the new split rig by spiritus. And half the cost. Great video love lbe content.
i hv been homeless for over a year now and living in a 💩 hole of a swamp,, it's been a learning experience.. One really good thing is that no homeless people venture back in here, from what i hv reconed of the area i hv the only high peice of ground, even in the dry times I'm surrounded by water, ya learn to appreciate & take care of a good pair of waders.. 🌴🐊🐿⛺🐜🦟
Bro said mined wired obstacle and immediately knew 12B. Good to meet another one
I was an infantryman, but I actually read the scope of the job and have had to do mined wire obstacle breaches
Update: I literally joined the Marine corps just so you can drop the tutorial on how to do this scrim job
Buy burlap, paint with a flat spraypaint in the colors you want, cut this into 6-8in strips and tie off onto foliage loops or netting on the helmet
@@opfor8r good enough. Thank you
Does this fit in overhead bins for airplanes ? Thanks
It might, its going to be a tight squeeze, I usually fly with the 2DAP which is smaller than this and it sometimes is real tight fit
Are you referring to overhead bin space or under your seat? Thanks
I’ve flown with my now discontinued Mystery Ranch Big Horn which is a bigger pack. It’s a 3,000 cubic inch pack while the 3DAP is 2,000 cubic inches. The truck is to pack right and cinch it tight.
I've flown with a 2DAP and it barely fit under the seat, I didnt have much room for my feet
Great information, thank you sir!
Very nice vid. New sub here.
How do you like those altama OTB shoes? How is the sizing and fit??
Good to go Devil!!! HOORAH!!!!!!
