hi sweetie! my boyfriend brought me this machine for christmas last year, and i love it!!! I wanted to get back into sewing (i have not sewed since High School. i'm now 63 years old) now i am a creative designer of canvas tote bags and acessories and i am loving every minute of my time with this machine. it's a great machine for beginners.
now i really wished Singer had a listing of stich adjustments. i really don't mess with the different stiches because i am scared i forget how to adjust to the regular stich.
I just bought the same machine as you for the same reason . I am going to make myself a proper anorak mountain parka out of lightweight canvas as they used to be made . Good video you made .
My Friend, find you some rubber shelf lining or anything rubber on both sides. Put it under the foot pedal. It will not slide and will stay in the same place! I loved your demo & I love my machine like that too! It is a work horse.
Very useful, thank you. Was your thread waxed as well? Or particularly thin? I'm just wondering if something about it contributed to your needing to run the thread tensioner at max.
Yes I have sewn heavy duty tarpaulin material with it. Obviously if you start sewing 4+ layers it starts to struggle more. You want a beefy and sharp needle of course. Good luck!!
Thank you so much for sharing ❤. Please help me, I am planning to run the Singer Heavy-duty on solar. What is its wattage on average? Or what is its power consumption in watts.
I'm new to sewing and i want to buy this machine to sew faux leather to make motorcycle seat covers.Do you believe will handle faux leather?I found it on sale for 218€ which is close to my budget.
I think it should be fine. I have sewed multiple layers of heavy duty tarp fabric with no issues. Just check for the right needle type and that the thickness will fit under the foot.

Yes it really is a pleasure to use. Am with you on stitch adjustments! When something works it's always difficult to change!
I've saved this for when the time comes. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. Yes working with canvas and waxed cotton is probably my favourite use of the machine. Good luck!

Thanks Glenda, great tip!

Hi John, the thread's not waxed and is pretty heavy duty. Am not a sewing expert so when find a setting that seems to work tend to stick with it 🙂
Hi mate. Can I sew tarpaulins with this? How about heavy duty canvas? Cheers.
