- As a horticulturist, teaching and sharing this amazing world of growing your food, utilizing your harvest, and homesteading with your family, is a passion. Each week we post a video on the garden, another aspect of homesteading life, or simply on the wildness of raising a large family in the country. Welcome to the garden, to the kitchen, and to our small farm in South Carolina.
We hope to encourage people to grow their own food, feel confident in homesteading, and live a life both messy and beautiful, because this life comes with a bit of dirt and a lot of love.
Have a gardening question? Email us and we will try to do a video and answer it!

Hi Natasha 🖐 love the garden tour as always I've been busy but I have something for Landon in a email I'm sending . It's a full two days Saturday and Sunday so you may get two emails possibly . God bless and see you all in the next one.
Thanks Darren! Landon is going to love the monster trucks, especially the school bus. God Bless!
New to your channel! I like it. 🤓 Awesome garden too!
Welcome! Glad to have you around and thank you.
What about buying a few yards of material to wrap your melons. Organza or toulle? Cut to fit 😊Another Gardner I follow covers his in cut up sheets to protect them
Yes, that is a good idea. Thanks for sharing
I’m off to do a rather big harvest from my garden .. a few potatoes to dig up, lots of kale, carrots, a couple peppers.. green beans, basil. I also finally have a few small tomatoes that have ripened! I’ll have to check my zucchini.. 2 got away from me.. nearly 5 lbs of zucchini between them 😅 I’m feeling the urge to put my garden to bed. I have a greenstalk cleared and prepped. I’m toying with dropping in some fall leafy veggies.. my first frost is quickly approaching😢
It sounds like you have a big harvest. Congrats!
Simply beautiful girl!!!! I look forward to seeing your fall garden 😍😍. Thanks for taking us along 🥰
You are so welcome, and thanks for watching!
Natasha, where did you get the netting you put over your green beans? I am very happy your garden survived the tropical storm so well. 🧡
Thank you! I am as well! Tropical storms and hurricanes always a bit of a headache around here, especially being right on the coast! I got the row cover hoops and netting off of Amazon. I'll link them for you!

Thanks Natasha. We will be moving to South Carolina in 2024. We will be further west in Aiken County, but I am loving watching you garden and all the tips you are sharing that I am sure will come in handy!@@ShepherdingPeppersFarm
Interested in more info on the luffas
We will do a video on that specifically when the plants are ready. 😊
Sorry I meant teach a class.
😊
Do your melons ever affect other plants? I love the way you are growing them.
Great question. We purposefully use the watermelons as ground cover for taller plants like tomatoes so it does not interfere with growth as they are matured at different times
@@ShepherdingPeppersFarm It's a great strategy. I'm so glad I found your videos!
Do the mexican sunflowers help with pollination?
Absolutely, flowers in the garden regardless of kind are helpful for pollination. Some more than others but all are good that way.
Any name with a 'worm' in it makes me cringe. Pickle worm, ring worm, etc. And I know some worms are helpful and necessary, such as earthworms. But a lot of worms seem to damage things. Either way, I think we can all agree most worms have an appetite, no? 🪱
You said it! Worms are awful and they will eat anything and everything.
