It was a good choice to deleted. The contrast between the 2 opera scenes is really important in the movie. But It was beautiful as always..

This scene shows Marie longs for something familiar from her homeland. And she was very close to her brother Joseph.
Opera rather sounds good in German in my humble opinion.
However, this was sung in French - translated from the original Italian libretto.
And still Her Majesty Queen Marie Antionette was the patronage of Art and Music ,,, R.I.P 💔😢 You are still live in my heart 😔

All those lavish robes, the Opéra scenography...and what she did? She just cut this wonderful scene, although it was unnecessary. Meh.
On these days of DVDs and blue-rays, nothing is wasted.
