    That little Tacoma will do more than you think. It would put more power to the wheels if it had a manual transmissions. Next thing auto locker in the rear axel ! As for the F150, put the lowest axel gears in it you can then Lincoln lock it !!!!

      Furthermore....I'll have to say that even though I'm looking for a larger tire for my 2020 Tundra TRD PRO that the stock Michelin LTX at2's did very well in the snow storm in ohio last week. It almost felt like I was on dry ground so I didn't even need 4 wheel drive. I put my truck back in 2 wheel and had no problems at all. I hate to get new tires just for the look of it so may try to let these wear out some but I wish Toyota would have put at least a 33 inch tire on these PRO's from factory.

    In saudi Arabia these baby trucks are to us like getting a nissan s13 or a miata but also offroad capable, its an instant recommendation for a kid who wants manual rwd with decent mpg and good fun both on and offroad.
    The hilux still comes in short bed configuration and 2.7 i4 engine here,and the nissan d22 was only discontinued here in 2016, that's how popular they are.

The bumper would have held up to that little bit of pull, the ford is rolling the yota just needs to keep it moving it will not take as much as you think it does. Looked like fun though dumping the bale off to roll away. Always good videos at the Yak Ranch, stay safe and healthy all.

    I have the same Michelin LTX2 tires on my 2000 Toyota TRD Tacoma. No issues on rocky roads, 2 foot deep snow, ice, water fording, not so deep mud, etc.
    In deep Mud, with the underpowered 3.4, it wouldn't matter what tire you had. You still get stuck.
    I've had swampers on it, and they were noisy on the road, and wobbled the truck like crazy. Two different shops couldn't get them balanced correctly even with a ton of weights. Traded to BFG Mud T/A, better, but still some balance / wobble issues. Switched to the LTX's, and all those problems went away. Considering they look like a street tire, they do amazingly well. Anything the truck itself is capable of, they're good for.

      Different nations have different safety standards that need to be met ( braking distance, suspension not bottoming out, etc)

    • @gregculverwell
      @gregculverwell 3 года назад

      @@8__D I assumed that was the case, but in reality 1 ton was just fine. No braking problems and the suspension only bottomed out if you didn't slow down on bad dirt roads.
      Not that bottoming out was a problem - nothing ever broke, they weren't driven with any sympathy and did around 600 000m. They died of rust, not wear.

    • @8__D
      @8__D 3 года назад

      @@gregculverwell ya I agree, American truck ratings are defiantly way underrated for guaranteed safety. I’ve load my 2000 Silverado with 2700 lbs when it’s payload is 1700 lbs and towed 12,000 lbs when it’s rated for 7,000 lbs. The trucks can certainly handle this without catastrophic failures, but if you take an overloaded truck onto roads with a lot of traffic you’ll certainly notice how much your stopping distance increases and overall handling diminishes, so you must adjust your driving accordingly to stay somewhat safe.

    My Mom has a Toyota Tacoma same tan from 2015 the one with the back seat for passengers and that thing is a nice compromise in the way its gas milage is for a pickup, the amount it can haul and the fact it can get passengers in the back. Its flaws are if you are over 5 foot 5 inch the person has to look odd out the windshield, the fact it can't haul what most eras of F--150 or Chevy Silverado/GMC 1500 can, the odd need for the step on and duck to get in due to how tall the suspension is on the newer Tacoma's are after the first few years of production.

      Pasting my comment from above on that topic
      .I'll have to say that even though I'm looking for a larger tire for my 2020 Tundra TRD PRO that the stock Michelin LTX at2's did very well in the snow storm in ohio last week.

    The payload capacity on a 1st gen Tacoma is 1625 lbs so I think you would have been fine putting a 1500 pound bail of hay in it.

    Don’t mind me. Just watching some videos and getting hyped to buy a new Tacoma this winter.

    Umm... I haul round bales in my 08/2.7l all the time, and 1,500lbs for a hay bale is about a 600-1000lbs over exaggeration. I love y’all’s content, but I know from experience that truck could handle that no problem.

    A little Tacoma will outwork any truck made in its lifetime for half the price and half the fuel and definitely less then half the maintenance of anything else.

    I don’t know whatever Toyota did when it comes to the Tacoma’s they did it right because like you said they are a beast of a little truck even the 2WD models they can do it much before I drive but some of those 2WD models came with the rear locker i’m not mistaking and they were bad to the bone for 2 wheel drive

    Roll a bale of hay to a place it belongs, seems oddly symbolic

    4 low on a 4 banger Toyota is the best. The 4 cylinder doesn't have a bunch of oomph to easily spin the tires so it just grips with that gearing. Experienced it alot.

    Just put airbags & add-a-leaf to the rear suspension and that taco could easily handle the haybale!

    Enjoying the series. 1500# may not be far off what that 1st gens rated payload how it's equipped. It would be rated for a lot more than my 3rd gen. May have tried the bale in the bed if it fits but no rolling off then.

    The Yota load rating is 1400+ pounds. Should have tried it. Good tie downs would hold that round bail on.
