I remember when this episode first aired on TV I lost my mind 😂 this is one of the best episodes of the series. It was this episode where I realized Carol is a total savage and it’s crazy to think of how she started in the series being a victim of abuse and losing Sophia to now being the hero we didn’t know we needed
Fun fact, the actor that is threatening Judith is actually the father of the baby, they hired him for the role so he felt comfortable with his baby being in that scene
actually, the father of Judith’s actor is only present in the close up scenes of Judith that show the hands around her neck and head, the actual actor of Martin didn’t actually have his hands anywhere near her neck
I love the reunion of Rick Carl and Judith but I also love the reunion of Tyreese and Sasha part of the reason she didn’t want to go to Terminus is because she didn’t want to deal with the fact that he might not be there that he probably didn’t make it seeing him with Judith then seeing her take off running behind Rick her crying tears of joy as she gets a big bear hug from her big brother always gets me misty eyed I love their dynamic even just the little bits we’ve gotten of them so far.
They call them THE ATLANTA FIVE. The last 5 known survivors from Season 1's Atlanta Camp. Rick Grimes, Carl Grimes, Glenn Rhee, Daryl Dixon, and Carol Peletier. Everyone else is dead or gone. RIP to the fallen: (Ed Peletier,) Amy Harrison, Jim, Jacqui, Sophia Peletier, Dale Horvath, Shane Walsh, Theodore TDog Douglas, Lori Grimes, Merle Dixon, and Andrea Harrison ❤ Everyone thought Carol should have been dead ages ago. They tried killing her off every season but there was never a good reason to write off Melissa McBride. The decision to keep Carol Peletier alive long past her daughter as opposed to the comics version is THE SINGLE BEST CHANGE the show ever did. Carol has been watching and learning. She stole a grenade back in season 1 to blow Ed up but he was killed and so she was able to save everyone at the CDC. She then lost jer daughter and everyone assumed she would break and was crazy and fragile but yet she survived. And when they tried to kill her off at The Prison, everyone fought for her to stay alive. Her history with Domestic Abuse and as a Parent whose lost her children adds so many layers of compexity to every scene she is in. She went from the meek and quiet to ONCE AGAIN blowing up a compound and saving her family. Just wait till the end of this season. There is a specific plot line that makes me so proud to be a Carol Stan. CAROL PELETIER IS THE MOST DEADLY AND DANGEROUS WOMAN IN THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE never forget that.
Birth of Killer-Rick and his wild beard. This era of The Walkign Dead is pretty badass. About the "machete with a red handle" - there is a short video story (official) about this particular machete here on youtube, where it came from and how it ended up with Rick. Pretty interesting stuff.
Hitting that tank looked impossible but Carol only needed to get in the vicinity of the tank. The fumes are highly flammable and thus the fire followed the fumes to the tank. (My father died from gas fumes igniting a fire.)
Fun Fact for you about this episode when they shot the scene where part of the group was getting killed in order to become food the main cast was not told that the other actors would bleed that much so that producers could get genuine disgust and panic reactions from Glenn Rick and Daryl ;)
2:30 The guy you recognized with the blonde short hair was Sam played by actor Robin Lord Taylor He was in that episode in Season 4 where Rick and Carol were out scavenging hence why Carol found the watch that Rick gave to Sam He was also the Penguin on Gotham To celebrate his casting the show runners offered him a wrap of his TWD character They flew him out for one day dyed his hair got him in costume and walked him on set and then killed off his character and drained his blood All in a days work.
Favorite line of this episode: Martin (talking on the walkie about Michonne): “Bitch looked like a weapon WITH a weapon.” I aspire to have someone say that about me. lol Great reaction! Thank you!
Not sure if anyone else said this but the hands around Judith’s neck was actually the baby’s real father because he didn’t trust the actor to not hurt her. Which is completely understandable but still makes for an interesting BTS tidbit
Carol shot a hole in the gas tank. The firework set the escaping gas on fire. The first guy in the trough was Sam, the same guy Rick & Carol met in the house, when Rick cut Carol loose.
There is absolutely ZERO justification for what Terminus is doing. I don't care what they went through. Everyone in this world has suffered and they don't turn into psychopathic cannibals...They're obviously not good people.
I always thought Merle was killed off too early and that it would’ve been SO impactful if he had been in the line up with Rick Glenn Daryl And Bob and was the last one killed before shit hit the fan.
The guy Glenn insisted they release from the train car was the same guy who threw Mary back in with Garreth and Alex before taking another woman. Once they took Terminus back they locked him up in a train car.
The gas being let from the container was triggered by the lit explosive passing through it. It was not necessary for Carol to hit the tank with the device after she already struck it with a bullet to open it.
22:17 this scene, that’s actually the baby’s real father’s hands and arms. Because the actor that played what’s his face (I’m so sorry I can’t think of his name right now) didn’t feel comfortable doing that scene with the baby.
U guys don’t remember most likely but the first blonde guy terminus killed at the bleed out was the guy that Rick and carol ran into with his girlfriend when Rick left carol also that’s why she grabbed ricks watch cause the kid had it since Rick gave it to him
fun fact, in the comics carol dies at the prison by suicide. she suffered great mental instability and after tyresse cheated on her with michonne (yes ik crazy right), she let a walker bite her throat on purpose.
@@PhilipManzano Robert Kirkman (who adores Melissa McBride and loves the direction the show took with her character) said he considers TV Show Carol an original character to the show, considering how completely different she is from his comic book version. Just FYI, the next episode (following this one) is the last episode Kirkman wrote for the series. If I'm remembering correctly, he wrote or co-wrote a total of seven episodes for Seasons 1-5.
I know you guys are way ahead on Patreon but I'm just letting you know if you didn't already that you missed a post-credit scene at the end of this episode. There's also one at the end of 5x08 & 5x16.
Comic Comparisons : The current arc mirrors an arc in the comic named Fear The Hunters Terminus as a place doesn’t exist but the people do Instead it’s just a traveling group of cannibal bandits who kidnap people and eat them It’s nowhere near as organized as in the show.
Martin told Tyreese to take the baby and leave because he didn’t want to have to kill them once he was forced to fight back. When he was talking about his past, I believe he was being genuine, not manipulating Tyreese. His point was that he was a good person but surviving has turned him into a bad person. Right now this is what the entire group is beginning to act like. And Tyreese is struggling with the fact that that’s the type of person you have to become if you’re going to live, hence why he didn’t want to kill that Walker. He sees the darkness growing in everyone. He doesn’t want to be an apart of it.
I think it was this episode and season 7 premiere, where my wife and I said: "That episode was great, I never want to watch it again." Season 7 episode 1 for obvious reasons. This one, with that hardcore pre-credits and the danger surrounding Judith and Tyrese. My wife cannot watch anything where a baby is involved in that precarious position. But we get the intro to Commando Carol.
Great reaction Phil & Erika. MAN ALIVE, WHAT a rollercoaster🎢 of emotions in this episode, I remember my first watch, it had us on the edge of our seats and was blinking scary and STRESSSSS - phew, poor Erika you went through it like we did. That Terminus lot were EVIL, SICK and disturbingly psychotic, I don't think any of us fans could believe this was EVER shown on tv. I agree with Erika that it's crazy to have suffered at the hands of another group being abused and r*ped, BUT to turn around and now kill and "EAT" people is extreme. I felt it was inexcusable, unjustified, beyond heinous and twisted beyond another extreme, because surely, two wrongs DO NOT make a right. Tyreese - I agree, he was silly to take his eyes of Judith, but thankfully he's a BIG strong guy and once "beast mode" is activated no walker is a match for him as long as he's angry enough and focussed. Initially I hated when Martin ordered Tyreese out of the barn to face the walkers by threatening to break Judith's neck with one twist if he didn’t do so immediately - (FACT: apparently that actor (Chris Coy) who plays 'Martin' was so scared he was going to hurt her they had to use her real father's hands in the close up shots when they were placed around her neck) so I remember on my first watch I couldn't believe it when it went silent, even little Judith did, she went quiet and like us you could see she waited in anticipation like she knew something was coming next and her little cute face had this look as if to say 😠 "YOUUU WAIT, this is the moment my Uncle Tyreese bursts through that door and he's gonna whoops your butt Mr" and so it happened. Just a shame Tyreese was going through it regretting and tired of killing because it "may have" ...we don't know 100%, but it "MAY" have worked out differently for Bob had he killed Martin in that shed/barn.🤷🏽♀️ I guess in hindsight, now we'll never know. ********** Upon airing, the episode hit series-high ratings, with 17.29 million viewers; The episode is considered by critics and audiences to be one of the show's best, citing the fast-paced action, dark themes, and performances by the lead cast as high points.
They didn't get very far with them -- but who do you think had the best make-shift weapon from the train car?
Either Abraham or Michonne.
I remember when this episode first aired on TV I lost my mind 😂 this is one of the best episodes of the series. It was this episode where I realized Carol is a total savage and it’s crazy to think of how she started in the series being a victim of abuse and losing Sophia to now being the hero we didn’t know we needed
Yes! LOVING her character development!
Fun fact, the actor that is threatening Judith is actually the father of the baby, they hired him for the role so he felt comfortable with his baby being in that scene
haha that's awesome!
actually, the father of Judith’s actor is only present in the close up scenes of Judith that show the hands around her neck and head, the actual actor of Martin didn’t actually have his hands anywhere near her neck
As far as I could find no he isn't the baby's father lol
@ that is right, it was so long ago when I watched the talking dead ep where they talked about it
This brings me so much comfort 😂😅
FYI The blonde dude who got sliced over the trough was the young guy with the girl at the house where Rick left Carol.
Right! Wild.
Daryl and Rick hugging Carol always melts my heart.
😭
I love the reunion of Rick Carl and Judith but I also love the reunion of Tyreese and Sasha part of the reason she didn’t want to go to Terminus is because she didn’t want to deal with the fact that he might not be there that he probably didn’t make it seeing him with Judith then seeing her take off running behind Rick her crying tears of joy as she gets a big bear hug from her big brother always gets me misty eyed I love their dynamic even just the little bits we’ve gotten of them so far.
Check Abraham staying back to make sure everyone got over the fence first He’s a true soldier.

Sorry for the loss of your father 🙏
@ thank you.
This makes much more sense. Thank you! We, too, are sorry for your loss 🙏🏼
@ thank you! Love watching you guys react to my favorite show of all time. Carol is such a bad azz!
There is actually an end credit scene in this one you guys missed😢! And it's important
We did watch it 😏 The recording just got messed up unfortunately.
"Don't make me Lizzie you."
"That's unacceptable."
💀
😂😂

One of my all time fav episodes! It has everything. Great reaction as usual!
Had our hearts pumping all the way through! So good. Thanks for watching with us!
Favorite line of this episode:
Martin (talking on the walkie about Michonne): “Bitch looked like a weapon WITH a weapon.”
I aspire to have someone say that about me. lol
Great reaction! Thank you!
One of the best episode in my top 5 of the walking dead. It's good to have carol back with the group.
I’d say it’s in my top 5 as well!
This is easily my favourite episode ever on The Walking Dead.
Where you been. Been waiting awhile to watch this with you all because you're the only couple I can stand for reactions.
Well worth the wait! One of the best premiers!
Agreed!
One of the best Season Premieres from honestly any show ever in my opinion
100%
Not sure if anyone else said this but the hands around Judith’s neck was actually the baby’s real father because he didn’t trust the actor to not hurt her. Which is completely understandable but still makes for an interesting BTS tidbit
The guy glenn let out of the container was the thug from the flashback of the terminus people at the end.
You know there is a reason you are not supposed to light a flame near a gas tank -- even the fumes are flammable.
I'll nevet forget the absolute terror I felt when they beat and bled that first guy. One of TWD's finest horror scenes!
P.S. Carol the MVP! 🔥
I couldn’t believe this show went that far 😮
I don't think the firework hit the tank itself but the chemicals coming from it, catching the air on fire leading to the tank, causing it to explode.
Probably my favorite episode in the entire series.
Carol is a one man army saving everyone. She's my favorite character by far. Love her
This is my fave episode of TWD!!!
Carol shot a hole in the gas tank. The firework set the escaping gas on fire. The first guy in the trough was Sam, the same guy Rick & Carol met in the house, when Rick cut Carol loose.
The shenanigans have began!! 🙏🏽💪
Awesome.....thanks guys......can't wait for episode 4
This is the episode that the previews compelled me to binge and catch up. 4.16 an 5.1 are still in my top 10.
He had to leave the show to film Guardians Of The Galaxy. I agree though, I would’ve liked to see Merle’s character grow and morph like Daryl did.
The guy Glenn insisted they release from the train car was the same guy who threw Mary back in with Garreth and Alex before taking another woman. Once they took Terminus back they locked him up in a train car.
The best reactors on RUclips
One of my top 5 TWD episodes!
The group is ABSOLUTELY brutal this season.
This is one of the very best episodes all up. Great reaction guys ☺️
Thanks for watching with us!
The gas being let from the container was triggered by the lit explosive passing through it. It was not necessary for Carol to hit the tank with the device after she already struck it with a bullet to open it.
Ya'll have Became my favorite couple on RUclips 🎉
27:29 Now this, puts a smile on my face 😌
As always -- Uncuts and early access for #TWD are available on Patreon: www.patreon.com/collection/457166
Carol showing us she’s a badass!!
And I stick to my point the TERMINUS group is really the scariest villains in the entire show
22:17 this scene, that’s actually the baby’s real father’s hands and arms. Because the actor that played what’s his face (I’m so sorry I can’t think of his name right now) didn’t feel comfortable doing that scene with the baby.
action packed and tear jerker episode
Best of both worlds!
so you're telling me they could show people being killed like pigs but couldn't say FUCK
U guys don’t remember most likely but the first blonde guy terminus killed at the bleed out was the guy that Rick and carol ran into with his girlfriend when Rick left carol also that’s why she grabbed ricks watch cause the kid had it since Rick gave it to him
Yeah I totally missed that during this initial watch 😅 too distracted with how horrific that scene was lol
It even shows them recognizing each other. Sam looks at Rick and Rick looks back at Sam, right before he gets offed ☹️@erikamanzano338
13:00 Let the games begin!! 🙏🏽💪
There is an after credit scene in this episode…along with episodes 8 & 16. Then one season 6 episode 8 & last one season 7 episode 8 👍🏼
After credit scene, need to go back and watch it!
We watched it - just had an issue with the recording 😅
fun fact, in the comics carol dies at the prison by suicide. she suffered great mental instability and after tyresse cheated on her with michonne (yes ik crazy right), she let a walker bite her throat on purpose.
also in the comics at this point in the show, sophia is still alive and is adopted by glenn and maggie.
Thats wild!! Haha. Had no idea how much they strayed from the comics.

Pretty grim! Do you remember the first guy to get it? He was from episode 404!
You missed the after credits scene!!! I hope you found it by now. Its really the perfect ending!
when the smoke bomb was bouta blow the first person Abraham grabbed to cover was Glenn🥺 1:44
Oh wow 😭
7:21 Big Yikes! 😭😂

Rip Sam at 2:56 from season 4 episode 4 to season 5 episode 1
Best episode ever
Best episodes so far 👌.
Yea I saw this on tv and definitely felt queasy. There’s only 2 episodes that made me feel that type of way.
the gas was leaking thats why it exploded even if the firecrackers dodnt excatly fly towards its direction

Greatest episode in my opinion
You missed the most hype post credits scene…
Ohhhh we were hyped all right! Unfortunately the recording got messed up at the end 😩
Lol it didn't hit the tank it hit the gas and cause an explosion. That's my take when Carol shot.
Yeah this makes way more sense lol 😅
Y’all needa start doing 2 walking dead on Wednesday and 2 on Friday y’all toooo far ahead 😭😭
Hoping to ramp up sooooon!
❤
You can show gratuitous violence on TV.
You definitely can't use swear words, though.
Its perfectly logical.
