  • This video is a complete, step-by-step guide for AIR system removal in a C5 Corvette. This system is also sometimes called an EGR system. The procedure requires the intake manifold to come off to remove the passenger side tubing, so this video is also a good guide for intake manifold removal on a C5 Corvette. The procedure should be very similar for LS1 and LS6 cars.
If you have aftermarket headers, chances are the AIR system is no longer connected to your headers. Removing the AIR system will take out an unnecessary pump and tubing and clean up the engine bay.

One thing you will have to do after completing this project, is get the car tuned to remove the check engine light that the AIR system will cause. I recently had this completed, and picked up some power in the process: ruclips.net/video/aeJdfSJhq1Q/видео.html

That black bracket is a fuel breakaway bracket in case of an accident to cut off the fuel supply to help avoid fires.

why’d you remove the fuel rail? not necessary for removing the intake

I also wanted to clean the injectors. Thanks for noting that, I should have clarified in the video.

I wonder if I could leave the fuel system connected and simply move the intake forward a bit at a angle

Great video. Can I just remove the part on the driver side of the engine only and leave the rest in place? I don't care about the other side or the pump in the bumper

Yeah should be able to. You might want to unplug the pump, just so it isn't running and pumping air to an open pipe. It's only 2 electrical connectors to remove.

Did you Know where goes the small Vaccum Line on the air pump and thanks for the Nice video

I actually do not know where it goes. All I did was cap it off, so I wasn't concerned with where it went.

@@basicdetail4512 I would tend to think they are not related. When I unplugged and capped the vacuum line to my AIR pump, I didn't have any issues with the ventilation system. An easy thing you can do is plug your pump back in and see if the ventilation problem changes. Sorry I can't be more help.

As long as the AIR pump is running, it shouldn't throw a check engine light for that.
