RUST ENCAPSULATOR
Stop rust in its tracks!
It's easy to use. Just remove any loose rust and wax, oil or grease. Then brush Rust Encapsulator on (if you prefer, thin up to 20% with lacquer thinner and spray)
It seals and stops rust and corrosion from spreading. Use over or under body fillers
Rust Encapsulator is a great primer for floor pans and other under-body parts. It fills tiny pin-holes and surface irregularities, and is compatible with lacquer, enamel and urethane top coats (including Eastwood Chassis Black)
For the absolute ultimate rust remedy, first brush or spray on Eastwood Rust Converter, then prime with Rust Encapsulator
Available in black, red, and silver
Rust Converter stops residual rust, and turns it into a black, protective, ready-to-paint coating, without sanding
Eastwood's own high-tech formula converts rust into a protective polymeric coating that's ready to go as a primer, and is compatible with most top coats. That new protective coating will also seal the surface against moisture to prevent future rust growth.
Just apply to transform the rust
Penetrates faster than other brands
No mixing needed
"Rubberized" Rust Encapsulator stays flexible as it stops rust in its tracks
Eastwood's Rubberized Rust Encapsulator is the flexible version of our high-performance Rust Encapsulator coating that applies directly over rust or bare metal to provide long-term corrosion protection.
Flexible finish protects surfaces from abrasions, and deadens sound
Epoxy-fortified for better adhesion and durability
Withstands up to 250°F
One aerosol covers about 10 square feet Авто/Мото

On heavy, scaly rust, we recommend using Rust Converter and then follow up with a topcoat of Rust Encapsulator. The best way to deal with rust is to remove it. When it is not an possible or feasible, converting and encapsulating will keep the rust from getting worse. One thing to remember when dealing with rust is that what you see is generally only the tip of the iceberg. Many times, panels will rust from the inside out, so you need to make sure you treat both sides or the rust will spread.
none of that stops rust it just covers it up.
@@13christbane Rust encapsulator seems like about the worst product invented.
LINKS to BUY all of these products are below the video.
nice products Eastwood. idk why but i love the infomercial style set up..
The Converter converts rust to an inert surface that can be painted. It should only be used on heavier rust. Rust Encapsulator stops the rust from spreading by sealing off the rust from moisture (it doesn’t remove the rust, but it stops the rust from getting worse).
I would start off by degreasing the frame and then wire wheel/brush away any loose rust. Once that is done, clean with PRE or Acetone. You could now go to Rust Encapsulator or use the gel dissolver to remove the rust.
Quick usage question (I have used both convertor and encapsulator on a restore). I have some fender panels I need to strip down but they have spot surface rust. If I use rust convertor on those spots, can I bodywork and primer over it ? I ask because of course, there will always be pitting and I will need to use body putty on the panels. Thanks in advance...LOVE the products...I am an Eastwood guy
Recently discovered you guys will have to get some of that to try in my shop prices seem fair!!
This isn't a "how to" it's selling your products
Are YOU an Eastwood Guy? Check out this video from Eastwood to find out: Big Bottle Opener - Opening a Refreshing Beverage - Are You an Eastwood Guy?
Hey do you think Flex Seal would prevent rust? Especially under cars?
do you you sell your products in south africa
Eastwood Company
Eastwood Company I have rust building on the undercarriage of my M37 infiniti. How can I eliminate the rust ? best product?
Hi, first you video is really good, my question is I got Suzuki alto and the car got rust by rear wheel trims and drum area, the surface actually coming out like dead skin , i am worried this will cause huge damage or accident. Please help to stop this and how.. thanks
If you use the rust converter can you cover it with primer? Or does it act like the primer as well?
could you advice me which one suitable for prevent rust from the rear box in the car ?(rear silencer)
Good vid! Now I have to try a few of these!
I am trying this out with the rust converter and the encapsulator for my trunk
So any of the products that you say "Goes right over rust" like the internal frame coating or rust encapsulator, neutralize the rust first, then coats it, correct? It won't do like the 'rubberized coating' and trap the moisture and continue to rust where you can't see it, correct?
I have rust problems on my Avalanche. They're probably too late to stop now, but when I get a new vehicle I'm likely going a brand new jeep. Day 1 I'm going to do the internal frame coating, but I'm sure there will inevitably be SOME rust somewhere, so I'd like to know that it will be neutralized first. I want my Jeep to be a 15 year vehicle.
First question i have is that these sprays actually work on rust like that? Its that easy??? Second question i have a 2000 dodge ram 2500 that needs to be taken care of are you guys located Anywhere in CT or the east coast?
1) can I use fast etch t removerust and then rust encapsulator and then Chasis back in sequence?
2) thinking of other option is is that: fast etch and then chessis black.
please advise.
Great video. I have a 69' 912 that has some minor rust in a few small areas. In a perfect world I'd strip everything down, soda blast, seal and paint, but I don't have the time or money for that. What would you recommend as something to stop the rust and maybe seal it until I get the time/money?
It looks like that rust converter and rubberized coating works great on the underside, after sanding
will this work on the inside of my rocker panels? I have a 2001 ford ranger that I had painted last year and the paint started pimpeling after about 6 months, prior to that it showed no signs of rust, I ground down the area and it did have some corrosion about the size of a quarter the went through the rocker panel. I washed out the rocker panel on both sides to remove all the sand and rocks that accumulated over the years and I plan to fill in the hole with bondo and paint it. can I use this to coat the inside of the rocker panels, there is ample space for me to insert the hose but I want to make sure it will work.
can I paint over Rust Encapsulator with bed armor rock guard or will I need to prime it first?
Well I live in New England and own a 04 dodge cummins. Rust has already taken it's toll, but once i get my new parts in definitely going to give these products a try!!
What you recommend to get rid of the rust on my truck frame? I've got a lifted F250 and want to put wheel well lighting on but don't want it to be spot lighting the rust.
To discuss your project so we can suggest the correct products, please contact an Eastwood Tech at 866.759.2131.
Can any grinding, brushing or rust converters be said to - eliminate - rust, equal to a sand blasting ?
I’m getting ready to repaint a 1970 GMC and I’m going to need some rust remover ,body filler and primer,do you have the yellow primer if so send me a price list “!!!
would the rust encapsulator be a good product for my door bottoms, rocker panels and cab corners? I live in upstate NY they seem to salt more than they plow. I have a small amount of rust started and I would like to stop it from spreading thanks
i have a f150 and the only rust i have on it is my rear axel. do i need to mask off the brake lines or can you apply the rubberized rust encapsulator without it affecting the rubber and metal on brake lines?
I got the Encapsulator, but unfortunately, I do not have the ability to break down the parts to coat individually and am working directly on my 2008 Nissan Frontier to protecttheundersidefrom the winter chemicals used here in Northeast PA that just kills our cars and trucks here. I got the can and spray can, is there anything under there that I should NOT apply the product to? Thanks!
How does the converter hold up to heat? Looks like it'd be perfect for my rusty brake calipers as long as nothing weird happens when they heat up.
Could be great on wheel hubs and exhaust manifolds too.
I have small spots of rust forming on the hood of the car. Which products should I get and how do I use them?
My son's 2001 ford 150 frame looks bad. Which should I use?
i like how gm ford and all car manfactures make frame rails and subframes only a couple millimetres thick so that it can turn into a tin can in a few years! you could make them a bit thicker and use strainless steel but no dont do that we love giving you 30 000 dollars for a new car every 5 years! love the salt on the road to! hopefully it can rot out are cars sooner then 5 years so we can get into an accident! very happy with the way the world works cheers :)
Man, the corporations are so fucked up, huh? Where can you go to buy a real lasting car anymore?
Harry Crotch huh can't say it better man !
Well that escalated quickly.
Harry Crotch you think its just gm and ford hahahahahahahha i have a 30 year old bmw and the subframes are 2mm sheet steel stamped in to shape.. honestly thinking of making tubular subframes and trailing arms at this point..1 new subframe is gonna cost me $650 USD (like $900 canadian) could weld up the whole rear end for that price..
Harry Crotch Stainless steel frames would probably cost more than aluminium frames.. thicker panels would make thr cars too heavy and guzzle on gas even more. For price reference on aluminium bodied cars, look up Tesla Model S or Audi A8...
I am planning on buying a new car soon and live in Pennsylvania. What would you recommend I use on the bear metal to prevent rust on the underside parts such as brake lines and calipers, suspension parts and cross members, nuts and bolts, etc.? Also, how long would it last and does it need to be reapplied?
You could use primer and a Chassis Paint as the topcoat.
will rust encapsulator work on ROT, as well as it does on minor rust? how much of a permanent fix is this product for rot?
This is an amazing video!
Hi, I have a Hyundai elantra that has begun to develop rust bubbles. What product should I use and how should I use it on my car?
Which one would u recommend for rusty fenders
How does a rubberized spray "trap moisture" if applied to metal with some surface rust. I don't know anyone who sprays a surface that isn't completely dry.
The gel-stuff is fantastic if you don't want dust everywhere.
Good stuff
super good product I like to buy
I GET IT! This is an Eastwood advertisement, you don't need a million stickers to get that across.
i have a couple panels on my car rusting out so if i grind it down use the etch and rubber sealer, i use primer and then paint over it? how long will it last?
Is it bad enough that you will need to cut it out? You may want to call an Eastwood Tech so you can discuss the project in detail. 800.343.9353.
I want to do under all my wheel arch wells. Full of dirt at the minute but when i power wash it all clean, I was going to just spray primer and a matt black coat but what method would you recommend with your stuff? some type of rust prevention and the rubber undercoat then painted with the matte black over the top?
Remove as much rust as much as possible with a wire brush, clean the area with Eastwood PRE Paint Prep and then spray on Rust Encapsulator, which you can then topcoat with a color of your choice or Eastwood Undercoating. You could also coat the area with Eastwood Rubberized Rust Encapsulator. If you have any additional questions, visit Eastwood.com to talk to a member of our tech team.
i got the gel but my car is not co opperatating so i havnt used it yet.
are any of these products available in the UK?
witch of the spray on type is best for the under side of a old jeep , that has rust .
Rust Encapsulator Textured Finish is a great option!
I have a Mazda MX-5 (Miata) NB, and I was told the front chassis rails can't be treated due to being double skinned, is there a way around this?
You could coat the outside in Rust Encapsulator and use Internal Frame coating to get the inside.
Good Info!
Would this product work for knives , and would it contaminate meet like deer meet for hunting.
kyle henderson We don't recommend using the paint on knives used for food or butchering.
My 2012 mustang is getting rust on the tires, and inside of the car under the seats :(
do you ship internationally?
Your products look very very good, impressive and easy!
Thanks. We take pride in our products and in helping our customers do the job right.
I live in New Zealand, my car has some surface rust on the underside of it,s floor pan, when it goes for it,s WOF ( warrant of fitness ) the surface rust gets commented on, overall the car is in very good condition both mechanically and body and runs and drives very well, which of your products would recommend for it please and thank you.
Also can i buy it here in NZ,
it is worth noting New Zealand has a lot of old classic,s tucked away in sheds quite amazing when you them out!
You can use Rust Encapsulator and try www.restosupplies.co.nz/ in New Zealand for Eastwood supplies.
What would you recommend for rust at the bottom of a tailgate?
+Marc2k6 It's tough to say without seeing the rust. Generally, try to remove as much of the rust as possible with a wire brush or sander and spray Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. You can then put a top coat on the Rust Encapsulator. You may also want to consider spraying Eastwood Internal frame Coating inside the tailgate, to prevent it from rusting from the inside-out, if you have an access hole. If you want to discuss the rust issue in further detail to get a more specific answer for your problem, contact the Eastwood Tech Department at 866.759.2131. Thanks.
What's the difference between Fast Etch and Rust Converter? They look like they basically do the same thing? Is the Rust Converter essentially just Fast Etch in a spray can?
They are two different products. Fast Etch will remove the rust by dissolving it. It's a great for rust removal, especially in pitted areas where you can't reach with a sanding disc or wire wheel.
Ok so how does Rust Converter work then? Verses Fast Etch.
hard to know when to use which product
Where do I find silver
could you let me know what I should buy if I'd like to make the wheel wells (suspension included (all steel)) of my 07 sedan rust free again like it was from the factory. it's spent all of its life on earth coast PA highways
To discuss your project with an Eastwood Tech, please call 866-759-2131. This way we will know exactly what you want to do with the project and can determine the tools and supplies you need to do the job right.
Ok thank you
I have rust in the back channels, when I open the tailgate the sides where the tailgate struts mount. I treated it once before with convert rust but I notice it's come back after 2 years. I can't get to the back or inside. I can only spray into to small rust holes and treat the surface. what would you suggest I did this time around.
+ToyotaTarago1992 Have you tried Eastwood Internal Frame Coating for some of those areas? ruclips.net/video/9HE5k5zU31I/видео.html
Eastwood Company I just watch that. no I haven't. is there a seller in Australia for that product.
Which one would you recommend for brake rotors?
You can use pretty much any automotive high heat paint for the brake rotor hat, however you shouldn't use any product on the surface of the rotor where the pads meet, if it's getting rusty there, take it for a drive and brake a few times.
Buenos productos
i have a 2005 ford escape. these trucks are infamous for rust at the bottoms of the doors and rear hatch and the rear quarter panels over the wheels.
i have found a car that has none of this yet and i want to stop it.
what eastwood products should i use and where?
thank you.
If it's not to the point of cutting it out and repairing it, you could use Rust Encapsulator for the pitted, rusty areas; Internal Frame Coating for inside rockers, pillars and hard to reach areas. You could also use Rubberized Rust Encapsulator for under the car.
www.eastwood.com/paints/rust-solutions.html
there is no external rust at all at this point.
i will try your suggested products.
I have a 1996 Chevy Tahoe 2 door I want to rust proff it do I need the whole setup ?????????
To discuss your project so we can suggest the correct products, please contact an Eastwood Tech at 866.759.2131.
ايش اسم البخاخ ووين احصله
wish you can get this in canada
ian4serena AFAIK Kroil is the Canadian equivalent for this(?)
I am a new subscriber, your channel is amazing. I didn't know it was there. Can I buy any of this stuff locally? Thank you for a great video.
We currently have a retail store in Pottstown, PA; Parma, Ohio and Alsip, Illinois. More should be opening in 2017!
What would you recommend for deep spreaded rust on top roof of a car so it can be painted?
+Jack1uptone I recommend contacting an Eastwood Tech who can discuss the project in detail with you to get a complete understanding and recommend the proper tools and products to do the job right. 866-759-2131
+Eastwood Company Thanks
Can any of these item be used on a rusting grill?
+Tiffani Henry i dont see why not. i guess you just have to clean it after
When cars are being built why can't they adequately make them more rust resistant? Body panels seem to be the fastest rust growing steel I can find.
+Tim Harris There is stuff called stainless steel right... putting it on a car would make it really heavy
+TheIKAIKAIKA And expensive
+TheIKAIKAIKA? ???
Tim Harris Truck wheel wells are designed with ledges and valleys that trap everything and the manufactures know this . Under coat everything when new
Yeah the 90s fixed that problem with plastic. EWWW plastic
ive always used elbow grease...
US automotive enthusiasts are so much better catered for than in the UK
Nice!!!!
whats the difference between, Eastwood Heavy-Duty Anti-Rust and Eastwood Internal Frame Coating
Internal Frame Coating is a paint that is specifically designed to be used inside areas like frames or rocker panels or even the insides of doors - areas that can't be reached with a conventional paint gun or aerosol can. It's thin and spreads easily to fill in all areas. Heavy-Duty Anti Rust is a waxy film that sticks to bare metal or painted surfaces, and isn't designed to be sprayed inside boxed-in areas like frames or rockers. I'd suggest using Internal Frame Coating. If you need to cover rust that is visible, try Eastwood Rust Encapsulator.
Thanks for your response. Are these products only available online?
So if I get a new old car and want to treat doors, wheelwells, trunk area what should I use?
+gary24752 Try this link which shows all of our rust products, and should help you decide which is best for your application...if it's just surface rust, we usually recommend Rust Encapsulator. www.eastwood.com/paints/rust-solutions.html
use the old oil from your next oil change. cheapest and best solution.
Does the encapsulator prevent it from spreading? i have very minor rust in my trunk nothing major but its not something i wanna sand prime paint coat and everthing else
Remove as much rust as possible with a wire brush. Then wipe with PRE Paint prep and apply the Rust Encapsulator and it should stop the rust from spreading.
okay thanks
Eastwood Company I bought the rubberized rust encapsulate and sprayed the minor rust portion of my under carriage after cleaning it up a bit... I did not use the pre wash our whatever it's called and was unaware of it. Did I just waste the money I spent now on the rubberized rust encapsulater??
stepfour the pre paint prep...
So how can I prevent It from spreading? I have two spots I believe that are only about 2-3 centimeters big. And of course I want to stop It now.
+Johnny Two stroke Cool. Thanks
Sand it, prime it, paint it, clear it, keep it clean from now on.
+Kenshin Himura I have been keeping It clean. the previous owner let that happen since the car would sit for long periods of time.
Yes, that's what I've been told is happening. I just can't believe there's nothing that can be done.
I'll call today
I'll be calling you tomorrow. I just spent $2100 to get my van freshened up including some rust on an otherwise solid rocker. Within three months (summer not winter), the rust is back.
Not happy. Hoping you guys can help.
Please contact the Eastwood Tech Line at 866.759.2131 to discuss this issue. Sometimes rocker panels rust from the inside-out. If that's the case, we offer Internal Frame Coat for those areas, if you can get a nozzle into them. But it's best to discuss the issue with a Tech Advisor.
+Eastwood Company I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with your tech support. I got no more information than from the video, and when I inquired about pricing I was sent to another dept. that was evidently busy cause I hit a recorded message then I was disconnected.
I have w124 mercedes with 400 000 salty miles on it.Hope that rubber coat will make my car as new to sell it.
can you rust encapsulate a driveshaft? my driveshaft on my 4WD has a lot of surface rust on it. it hasn't affected the integrity.
Mr. Lee Yes. Remove as much of the rust as possible. Wipe with Eastwood PRE Paint Prep and then apply the Rust Encapsulator.
Eastwood Company Actually that will make the driveshaft out of balance.
+18iser No worse than what the rust would do.
I iive in Ohio, please send a care package of all that my way lol
There is no reason vehicles should be made with simple steels. Major portions should be factory made with stainless and.or stainless coated. We lost millions of pounds of steel a year cause they dont take that 1 lousy step. I'm sick fo going to work and seeing rust on 2016 vehicles on major parts. Stainless Steel is cheap if you get it thrift stores from Utensils. Plus closing food stores with their stainless pans etc. Out of all the Lawsuits out there. Also the green movement. I am shocked that this hasnt been brought up as a civil issue. Plus with government subsidizing the offset. It would be a very viable change for both modern and classic car restorers. If I was doing a classic. I would plate almost every major part in a tank. Only makes complete sense. "Why prevent what can be stopped?"
I've been realizing this more as I get older. I'm 21 now. We sell some many cars and use so much metal in new things. If it's not being done right, all those new cars will just end up in dumps in ten years.
Zinc coating works well too.
You can buy zinc plates at a metal recycle/scrap yard. Use it for plating. Which is really easy to do too. (Zinc Coating Metal)
+Kevin spacey Where did you have them galvanized?
hey silent soldier, stainless is heavy, and the grades of stainless required for what you're talking about are expensive, which would make already ridiculisly priced vehicles just insane.
plus; if you build stuff to last, how do you sell more?
Ooo nice😃
Are your products available in stores?
+Nancy Pattyn Yes. As of March 2016 there is an Eastwood Store in Pottstown PA, Parma OH and Alsip IL, with more being added.
Thank you!
it would be great if your products were carried by all the chain stores, shipping gets expensive
This will work great on the car i don't have lol
Still don't trust that rubberized coating, so many people saying it cracks then the moisture ends up eating from the inside out.
only way to stop rust is to remove it or keep it under oil
The letter "P" is exploding in his mouth.
+Cosmin R. and the b's are blasting!
I've used your products and others. First of all. The little examples are not real world. How about showing how it works on chunk of A frame or another part that is rusted and has layers of rust like fine pastry. You can convert but the rust will not stop no matter what Eastwood says. You can slow it down by getting after it aggressively with a power wire wheel or pad. You have to decide how far to take it down, but have to get rid of all the loose flaky stuff by chipping, hammering, scraping whatever. Then buy LOCTITE rust converter which actually works then put a heavy coat of brush applied paint that really fills it in and build it up and your done. Eastwood is trying to sell you a whole line of products when you only need 2 and hard work.
R Peterson I'm going after rust on the wheel wells. You recommend loctite rust converter and elbow greese. Do I need a paint/primer? We have purchased bushwhacker fender flares to cover damage.
does that include the golden gate bridge
If they would zinc dip then epoxy paint them they would last but I want to sell you another truck. Hahaha. Look at Toyota for a real frame issue. They learned their lesson real fast!
Lol this will reform metal rusted from cars!
Go Eastwood! Get that Rust outta here!
Yeah!
This product promotes rust people! Do your research. It hold moisture between the rubber coating and body..
They should do this at the factory, if you are buying a new car I would totally do this, protect your investment cos you just lost 10 grand driving it out of the showroom.
Ucle
So I gotta buy all of those cans to really get the job done?! Nice.
all u really need is fluid film
I used to think that, but have switched to honey goo. i find honey goo resists washout better and is cheaper. Fluid film is still my favorite penetrant.
where do u buy honey goo? I never heard of it.
Napa, Carquest, walmart. I'm in Canada tho
Why not offer this product directly to car manufacturers? It's better to have them prep their vehicles frames with these anti-rust products before it rolls out the factory and out of the dealership. These anti- rust products should be applied before body panels had been put on the frames which is easier when it is still in the manufacturing stage. Just saying.
Nothing stops rust don't let these guys tell you different.
Yes and no. Some vehicles just rust in certain areas. Having seen full arch replacements start rusting more quickly than a DIY grind, fill, rust converter, prime paint job I'd always recommend a DIY effort before spending £££ on some new steel bodyshop repair that may not last any longer anyway (borderline if you're a skilled home welder). Rust converters have a bad reputation because so many people slap them on as if it's a miracle cure onto rotten panels. Used within their limitations they can certainly 'cure' surface rust.
True... It's a battle that keeps going until you loose. But right now in fighting the good fight and I'm doing all I can to try and protect my investment for as long as I can... But in the end, I know time will win. For time is the fire in which we all slowly burn....

False. Conertors turn rust to zinc which stops the oxidation process
