Thank you for the video Ken. Mizuki is gorgeous and dresses professionally but has the otaku vibe you would never have imagined or guessed. Beautiful woman indeed.
I went to Akihabara two months ago. Seeing Radio Kaikan and Mandarake really brought me back when I went there to hunt for Gunplas and DVDs. I thought that I haven't bought enough. I missed the places lol
I'm an otaku myself but I'm different from the usual stereotypes you'd expect. I enjoy watching anime based on my personal interests, such as robot/mecha anime/models/figures, but I''m a bit out of shape for cosplaying. I also like Japanese foods and take care of my body well.

I finally had time to see it. As always your work is excellent Ken, when I come back to Tokyo I will offer you a nice Italian espresso to show you how much I appreciate your videos. Thanks to this tour I discovered three new places, especially the Beep : I'm a retro game lover, so you made me really happy. The video also lasts longer than usual, so it was possible to understand more about the person of the day as well. Thanks as always for letting me experience the city of Tokyo through your videos. Erica made me laugh out loud by saying that Ken was pretending to know about electronics ha ha!!! Thanks for the laugh!! Mizuki is so pretty!!! I loved this video, Ken, because I had no idea what 'Otaku' was and now I know :))))
Wow, Mizuki-san is beautiful! And so stylish! 🤩 I had no idea that such people could also be otaku. Shamefully, I am _that_ ignorant. Thank you for enlightening me, Ken HONDA Japan! 🙇
Such a nice video! I am a massive fan of Touken Ranbu, and enjoy other 2.5次元 shows, too. Most of the fans I know don't fit that stereotyped image of an otaku either. Also, living in a rural part of Japan means it's less apparent that I enjoy otaku interests and oshikatsu.
The Tokyo apartments are fascinating, the living space has been maximized because the stuff only one person needs to use is smaller. Here in America you can find 300 square foot studio apartments that still have full sized ovens with 4 burners.
Mizuki is só pretty and by her appearence I wouldn't tell she's an otaku! When she recommended the Kimi ni Todoke manga and started looking through the BL ones it certainly brought back memories from when I was an otaku as well, I would consume all of this kinda stuff and even more daily! And by the end of the video I can tell that she found another addiction to her list, I used to dream about having lots of BJDs and dolfie dream dolls dressed as my fav characters as well 😂 I loved watching the weekend routine of an actual otaku in Japan, it made me relate to her hobbies a lot! Thank you for the amazing vídeo!!!

I’m an airline captain in the US and my coworkers are always shocked to hear I am an otaku. Otaku have a rough reputation still in the states but it’s slowly becoming better with mainstream anime and manga.
A lot of people in the West (especially on websites like reddit) like to tell people that they are weird for watching anime and that people in Japan look down on anime otaku, which is just plain wrong. I spent a year in Japan and almost every single person watched SOME type of anime. Spy x Family and Kimetsu no Yaiba have really propelled anime into proper mainstream. Sure, not everyone is super into it like Mizuki is but anime watchers are far more accepted than angry internet people make it sound.
Absolutely this. Last time I was in Japan, I tried not to bring up anime or manga- until the locals asked if I like anime and were delighted to find out that I do 😂 it was so refreshing.
It's not watching anime itself that's distasteful to Japanese people, it's specific anime shows/genres and how some weebs or JP otaku talk or act about it that's the issue.
@@MoreEvilThanYahweh ...yeah, so? You can make this case about literally any other hobby people have. If your argument is "The issue is this specific subset of people engaging in this hobby are bad", then it's not a good argument. When i saw mandarake i was wondering maybe i can find some figurines of sawako (character from kimi ni todoke) or the manga itself. With in seconds, she pulled out the English translated version of it.
