• 'He Gave me a Code' Ep...
I watched 7 seasons of brutal and bloody murders but thank you for shielding my innocence by censoring naughty words.
😂
Sunnzo beep yeah
Lol

😂😂😂
Bleeping Deborah Morgan. What a... counterproductive thing to do.
XD Agreed! Deborah without sweaeing is like my mom without swearing. It's not right.
bleep a brick and bleep me with it
SCharlesDennicon hard to take this scene seriously yeah
I had the same thought.😅
My wake up Alarm beeps less.
I love how deb's actual reaction to this news is a mix of the four ways dexter expected it to go: intense crying, attempt at arrest, attacking, and choking
Haha that's true XD
Yeah, Deb is emotional storm.
Don't forget incest in in later parts of the series
Yes just like dex imagined in season 2
@@theSeiyuuTranslator what incest?
"Dad knew??" Deb's world falls apart completely.
Yeah no one can get a break from learning dirt about Harry
Deb: Are you the Bay-Harbor Butcher?!
Dexter: You know, I never really liked that name...
I thought that was a badass name 🤷♂️
@@tofu8688 right? Lol
@@HailFromAzalia1990 Now that I've been thinking about it, I think the reason why he hates that name is because it makes him sound like a "bad guy". When in reality he wants to be looked at as a hero
Dexter is a hero he's literally such a good man
Are you talking to me I know ya ain’t talking to me
The fact that she always saw Dexter as the one constantly good thing in her life despite everything else going wrong. The last things she needed to find out is that he is a freaking serial killer. Phenomenal plot.
I mean she wouldn't leave things alone she choose to uncover the truth
he does what police can't and he gets hate for that lol
Until Dexter got her killed and then dumped her body in the ocean like the rest of the trash people he killed. Lame ending to a wonderful series
@@mclovinlife4018 I think we were supposed to think she was "his last victim" or at least Dexter thought so. I'd have preferred it if he didn't move her body. Would like it even more if she survived
@@vulkanofnocturne I didn't mind Deb dying as a direct result of Dexter's actions, what was lame is that the show said she was in very survivable conditions until she just wasnt
The interesting thing about Deb finding out is that she never once feared for her life in his presence even after she knew he was a serial killer. Which goes to show that she always believed in whatever goodness Dexter had in him and she always believed in his love and care for her.
I think she never feared for her life because he only kills bad people. She doesn’t fit the code.
who's to say if she did
Deb knows that Dexter will never hurt her. He even gave her the choice to arrest him or not.
She understood when he said he only killed certain kinds of people as well
Or that she's ignorant and biased and naive due to their history and being in love with him? She didn't know anything about who he kills or why at first, and just because he says he only kills bad people doesn't mean it's true. Her feeling safe is stupid, not insightful.
Dad, knew.. he gave me a code. Up-Up-Down-Down-Left-Right-Left-Right, B, A, Start. It all makes sense now.....
👌
What's that the cash cheat from gta vice city.?
he gave me a konami code.
A cheat code to surpass metal gear
@@GottigGameplays I believe it was Contra. I also believe it was A B A B select start. Not what the above guy posted.
Her acting feels so genuine
Apparently they were married in real life then divorced at some point. People say that’s why their chemistry is so good
This clip is hysterical to see how much Deb actually swears in the show. I mean, I already knew it, but the censoring just started to make me laugh cause it was basically in every line!
hysterical NO impactful yes. as a screen writer.
sorry Jake i know this is 4 years later but i am doing a continuation with Michael C hall That i would like to get to a T.
Bishop Heahmund you are absolutely not making a continuation with him as he's explicitly said that he wants to distance himself from the show after eight years
There were hardly any gaps between the bleeping.
@@neontime8507 u were saying?
Once again we are witnesses to Carpenter's amazing acting skills.
Bruh I know right, all the actors on this show are TOP notch
lmfao, she is a horrible actress....
@@coryboy345 are you high?
cringe
she's a one dimensional actress
I knoda like how when Deb was on the floor Dexter was down too and when Deb was standing Dexter stand up too, he wouldn't look at her from above.
It's like he said in the very first episode, if he could've had feelings for anyone it would've been Deb. Their bond is one of my favorite parts of the show.
Can we just take a minute to acknowledge how many breath taking performances Jennifer carpenter delivers in this series?! She’s fukn amazing, the woman deserves ALL the oscars.
One of the best scenes in the entire series.
1:08 I feel so bad for Deb, cause a loooooot was being put out there, first she confronts him about being a SK, then Dexter tells her Dad not only knew, but it was HIS idea. Super dad, the one that made her become a cop. The way she sobs when he told her, kinda breaks my heart.
Well that’s Dexter he don’t know emotion
@@habilhussain3387he knows, he just can’t feel it like we do
Dexter always maintained that his belief he didn’t have feelings or social skills but he was terrified of how his actions would affect his sister thoughts on him. And only wanted what was best for her
Jennifer Carpenter's acting here is pretty incredible.
This is the best acting I’ve ever seen. Nothing can compare to it to be honest.
Stop lying man lol
Breaking bad and True detective S1 you gotta watch
This this this is fcuking Oscar level acting pure, chaotic, emotions
a show I love to come back to and rewatch often, the acting and plot throughout it all was just phenomenal
Her acting game is off the fucking charts
Well, given that Deb already knows her dad was a serial cheater who liked sleeping with his female informants, he was already tarnished in her eyes.
However, you're right, finding out your dad wasn't faithful to your mom is one thing. Finding out your dad trained your brother to be a vigilante killer is a whole other story.
My God!!! Jennifer Carpenter probably ran out of tears after shooting this season. This is amazing!!!!
You can see her heart just break here
"...it was his idea..."
Especially when she finds out her Dad was in on it. God, it must have blown her world apart.
She knows she knows she knows
TheOrangex88 yeah I remember that 😂
lmao
Scotty doesn’t know
@@epilepticmonkey100 that Fiona and me do it my on Sunday....
@@jimmy2k4o tells him she's in church, but she doesn't go, still she's on her knees, and scotty doesn't know!
This scene just gave a whole new meaning to the phrase "My world just came crashing down on me"
Not only did Harry know about Dex being a serial killer, he also TAUGHT him how to be a successful one!
Yep, ... If You Cant Control The Beast, Aim It To use-full Purposes!!!
I'm kinda dissapointed he didn't explain to her that he can't feel basically anything, that everything he does in his life is just pretending.
Not entirely true, he feels stuff, just in his own way. His love for Rita was real, just in his own way
Alex Boucher That's one of the grey areas on the show. The conclusion I came to is that Dexter tells himself he doesn't have emotions so he can protect himself. He has the capacity to feel, he just doesn't want to. But at times he clearly displays feelings, like when he murdered the man in the bathroom because he was upset about Rita.
This is an exact truth but everyone put on a mask when they're in public not just Dexter, and it has nothing to do with being fake or real it's just that in certain situation you have to conduct in a certain manner and sometimes people are not even aware that they are doing it because it becomes second nature to them after doing it for so long.
He was obviously supposed to not feel anything, but that didn't create enough "drama". The writers decided to ignore the very simple and strong premise halfway through the series. Instead they turned Dexter into this who-the-fuck-knows-what that would sway every which way almost at random (or rather, the way that made it convenient to write).
The whole show is about Dexter feeling more and more...his love for Rita/Lumen and especially Deb, his protective instincts for Cody/Astor, him saving Deb (twice!) and Lumen. How can you even consider claiming he is only pretending?
The beeping is so out of place lol
Yeah, it is
Or even better...
Deb: "Are you the Bay-Harbor Butcher?!"
Dex: "Actually, I've always preferred 'The Dark Defender' myself." ;-)
We all know dark defender is completely canon
I liked that
My god Jennifer Carpenter is such a great actress
best acting in the later seasons like what a performance
I feel bad for Deb, finding out her brother's secret led her down a dark path of self destruction
its her fault really
@@mikaelharding it's her fault that her brother is a serial killer? 🤔
@@erickmejia4602 It's her fault she shot LaGuerta. She should have just left and let Dexter do his thing.
@@godfatherezio that is true but she is from the police you know that right
In a way Dex killed her. Indirectly. That is certainly what he thinks which is why he tries to kill himself.
"Don't you fucking touch me!", "I'm never gonna be fucking okay.", "How long have you been fucking doing this?", "Jesus fucking Christ, Dexter." and "Fuck! Oh, Fuck!" are the censored phrases. My work here is done.
One of my favorite scenes I’ve ever watched. It’s one of few I come back to every now and again to re-experience. Holy crap it’s amazing
I will never understand how come Jennifer Carpenter never won an Emmy for this part
At this point I thought Deb would spontaneously combust
Best show. Best season. Best first episode. Cant wait for the next one!
boy i bet you felt silly that year..
This comment aged like milk lmao
@@MrHartApart haha 😅 Oops. Well let's hope the new one is better..
Come on, Season 7 was amazing. Huge improvement compared to 5&6. Hell I even rate it better than 3.
@@ArcadeFL yup, can't wait for Season 9, supposedly coming in 2021
Debra: „Dad knew?“
Dexter: „Was his idea, he knew everything.“
Debra: „*Beep*...*beeeeep*!“
:D
Jennifer Carpenter deserve an Oscar for this performance
Carpenter was great throughout the series, but these early episodes in s7 are amazing as she grapples with the truth.
You watch her slowly disintegrate. She goes from a bright, confident young woman into someone who is raging, bitter, ripping herself to shreds. Dex had to live with that - the fact he'd destroyed his own sister, the one person he truly loved.
OMG. I'm about two seasons before this. I've never had Showtime, so thank the Lords of Kobol for Netflix!
The deb's reaction is so accurate. She's a great actress and an amazing character.
I think she's the most fake of all characters (including Lila) of all characters.
I still haven't watched the last four seasons and season 9 (aka Dexter New Blood).
@@tejo29seyou should watch seasons 5,6 and 7. Completely skip 8, it's dogshit
Unbelievable acting.
One does not simply censor Deb wtf
They are censoring the entire bleeping show
Fearless Chelly Makes no *bleeping* sense!
Wow...I got chills.
I am so glad they stopped the whole "I'm in love with my brother" thing... This is much more interesting.
Deb to Dexter: "Ah, now it all makes sense, as to why dad never let me go 'hunting' with you and him! And why he never snuck me onto crime scenes, and why he was always doing shit with you, and not me!" 😂😂😂
This scene and the first 2 episodes of season 7 were the best parts about the show after season 5
I actually find Dexter pretty useful. He uses his sickness to punish people that society would just slap on the wrist anyway.
It reminds me of that old saying how when war breaks out we should just make our convicts go.When you got somebody who hurts innocent people, just feed them to one of their own
the bleeping makes it sound like a reality show lol
I loved this scene!
good thing they censored it otherwise i would know some swear words boi
One of the best scenes in the show
The things I liked about Season 7 were Deb finding out about Dexter and trying to deal with it, Isaak wanting revenge on Dexter, the Ray Speltzer episodes with Dexter arguing the benefits of Harry's code and Deb trying to follow the law, Laguerta reopening the Bay Harbour Butcher investigation, Dexter finally killing Hector Estrada the gangster who ordered the murder of his mother after killing Santos Jimenez the guy who actually committed it and one of Estrada's henchmen back in Season 2. I also liked that they seemed to be doing what they should have done starting in Season 5 which was have Dexter's killing urge taking him over to the point where he became more evil, started ignoring the code and killing who he wanted. But what lets Season 7 down is stuff like the out of nowhere Hannah romance subplot, Quinn dating a random stripper and his feud with Isaak's boring henchman George and the stupid "Oh no Dexter you never had an uncontrollable urge to kill." If that's the case what were all those "murder withdrawal" hallucinations he kept having like stabbing a woman at the post office and stabbing Masuka in the throat with a pen about then?
When you're right, you're right. They tried to course correct and missed the mark.
Have you been watching season 9? They're doing a good job so far with it, there's a different rhythm and vibe but with the reduced cast the storyline is tighter. Dexter is very recognisably himself, but clearly older and changed by time. It's pretty a satisfying narrative so far, especially his relationships with Harrison & Deb.
She's also fine as hell.
the impossible clip to play with Deb's mouth XD "beep, beep-beep, beep!" lol
"Just try to take it easy" Sure thing Dex haha
Can’t believe Sexter became the Laguerta Harbor Butcher
I watched this entire serie just for Jennifers Acting.
dosduros Yeah! She is gorgeous!
I still can’t believe Debra was the harbouring the beyblade butcher
Best show ever
Sooo can we agree that Harry is basically the real villain of this story? He was largely responsible for leading Dexter down this path
Dr Vogel is the brain behind the code. But Harry gave it to Dexter.
@@MennoWielenga Both were the real villains
The villain? Dude, if Harry and Vogel didn't have cared Dexter, he easily would kill innocent people
If an average woman had experienced the things that happened to Debra, she would have killed herself. She is overly emotional and occasionally annoying, but a pretty strong woman.
Top tier acting fr
I laughed everyone she cursed bc they kept bleeping it out😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
If only...IF ONLY! They went with that storyline; Deb finding out but she eventually go against her "code" and follow Dexter. Would have been a great team until...you know...a twist.
Love how each word uttered by Dexter just sends Deb into a new spiral of complete despair
Deb: How long have you been killing people?
Dex: Long time
Deb: Are you the Bayharbor butcher?
Dex: Yup
Deb: I can't believe you did this
Dex: Well dad knew so it's okay
deb: *wails of despair*
Deb really looks super scary when she cries
Not a single bad season. Love this show
6 & 8 were pretty bad
@@dextoppablenah not 6. 8 was good up until the last 2 episodes
No dude, there were big negative points mainly from the last season like Astor became irrelevant, an over quantities of romance partner for Dexter and also for Deb instead of a development of the Debster best couple by far, Deb dying which make no sense, and Zach dying which also make no sense since he could be a way of Dexter retiring or passing on the legacy (which could be quite beautiful)@@dextoppable
Season 8 was the worst season of TV I've ever seen and 6 was bad to
over excited with this season I cant wait to watch next episode!!!!!!!!! in monday cause im not from the us
i just finished watching this with the 24 blood theme playing in the background, and it just made it more epic
Those beeps really take the seriousness out of this scene...
" Thisssssssssssssssss" Travisssssssssssssssssssssssss"
volcomstone0627 the novels describe the dark passenger as being reptilian in nature. I wonder if that's why he hisses as he talks sometimes.
People who study our brains say the oldest part, right at the top of the spinal cord, is very similar to the reptilian brain; trace our evolutionary path. Behaviorial scientists have used this knowledge to explain people who are sometimes behaving out of their "root stem" or "reptile brain"; nah, those aren't the right terms, it slips my mind now. (Ironic grin.) When people are extremely angry there's very little hope of talking to them, or expecting them to think things through calmly, they're not using that part of they're brain. HOWE VER, Michael Hall the actor couldn't have known any of this, I don't think. It's just great intuition on his part.
Police, however, SHOULD be taught this.
Jennifer Carpenter is such a phenomenal actress and really put the feeling of finding out who he is just like I imagined it would be like Throughout all previous seasons.
I loved her reaction: with the vomit and cry. A mix of repulsion, horror, surprise and keep loving him
Michael C.Hall is the best.
I actually never wanted Deb to find out. I wanted Rita to find out.
Man's got to have a code
The bleeps give this reality show vibes lol
Jennifer Carpenter's acting is so visceral it just chanhes everything
I know it was supposed to be a serious scene, but those beeps keep making me laugh so hard lololol.
Best show ever.....say otherwise and i'll will wrap you in plastic.
uuhm, no? the entire dynamics of the show has changed and they can really start to show Dexter from another angle! One completely new, everything is new! How awesome is that? I continue to know Dexter and I know who he is. He hasn't changed, but everything around him has! And i watch the show for two reasons, Debra and Dexter. And now shit has hit the fan so hard it is never coming back down. They and the relation between them are at the centre now. Brilliant is all i can say
This is some dark twisted ass humor first Debra sees him "accidentally" Killing Travis then she finds out he's a serial killer then she finds out he's the bay harbor butcher and good people died going after him while he sat back and watched THEN she finds out her father whom she idolized is the one who taught him how to do it and put the ideas in his head, just one thing after another and she gets more and more upset every time and all the while Dexter is just like ".... Deb... Deb please... Deb shhhh!"
he does know how to comfort and diffuse situations. he comforted rita and lumen and told astor he loves her, is great with his son, etc. yet he's emotionally retarded with his sister. he's acting far too dumb and she's so hysterical all the time its annoying.
@@GotoMaki4Micah I was talking about how this scene is morbidly funny
Then she starts requesting him to do some killings
Dexter and Heisenberg would get along
Michael he didn't kill the child, and he was certain of how much amount he would give the child so that he stays alive
Michael I’m pretty sure Heisenberg would outsmart Dexter every day of the week. Dexter was rarely in control and got lucky a lot where Heisenberg really did what he wanted and when he wanted it
1911 VsGlocks dexter would kill walt
@@ttlover7490 It depends. If Heisenberg knew Dexter was hunting him yes. Otherwise Dexter would sneak up and dispose of him like the rest.

Only if you don't know his secret IMO
Great acting by both of them very realistic performance.
this could be the season where Emmys are won.
I loved this season
If you’re gonna cut the curse words out just leave that part mute and not a obnoxious f’n beep noise. There’s NO reason for that to be a obtrusive beep and not just a muted word.
Deb R.I.P.
well he did wonder how her reaction would be to him being The Butcher.
they beeps are only for the preview, when it airs they say the actual thing. its just preview will be seen by everyone even those who don't buy showtime, so that means general public even kids can watch it, as such the need for beeps.
