@@dayangmarikit6860 yeah. She called and I told her she was being melodramatic and that there was no way that was happening. Then i googled it, felt horrible and called her back. Horrible way to spend your first birthday away from your family! 🤣 Makes for an ok story though now.
@Video Buff On the morning of Saturday, January 13, 2018, a ballistic missile alert was accidentally issued via the Emergency Alert System and Commercial Mobile Alert system.
Except for those of us who lived through it. I live in Hawaii and I clearly remember this. I actually wasn't terrified just concerned. One thing I remember thinking is that it was a mistake but even if it was real, the chances of a N. Korean missile actually hitting my city (Honolulu) was extremely small. Their technology isn't even close to more advanced nations.
@@Ffollies Do not believe the hype. They could hit Hawaii with no problems (Even the Pentagon accepts that). The question really is, why would they? What remotest reason would they have? Wait, who is that nation that routinely bombs and drone attacks civilians, again?
This is a lovely short film. Normally, when established couples are shown in tv and film, there's an undercurrent of contempt. They don't really like each other. They certainly don't fancy each other. In this film, the couples seems to have gotten through all the drama. All that's left is love and friendship. Beautiful.
I was living on Kauai and experienced this and lived this BRUTAL 45 minutes of so after receiving the text. It was very surreal and yes, we ALL thought we were going to die. Then, oops, sorry, we made a mistake after the Big One was promised at any moment. SMH
I’m so glad that this is so consistently comedic, a fallout is a real depression fest and this brings a whole new hilarious light onto it. Great script, hysterical actors with awesome chemistry and an original plot borrowing from a horrifying event that everyone basically forgot.
wow the ending part....both of them are so good to each other. these are always hard to watch, not because they are bad but rather because they are soooo well done. this one ending on a good note and i have to assume it's based on reality. great actors, great camera work, great audio, perfect setting. well done!

While I laughed so hard and had fun watching it, this actually happened to Japan when North Korea launched a missile. It actually went above our land. “Fortunately” the missile went into the ocean, my brain froze.
This also happened when the Soviet Union detected the moon as a nuke. At the height of the cold war that wouldve been the end of the world if one guy didn't stop the alerts.
@@anonymoususer638 Aren't you thinking of Operation Able Archer in 1983? The Soviets were concerned about the US playing a wargame in the Gulf of Finland right on their doorstep so they turned on a new missile tracking system and it immediately malfunctioned by incorrectly detecting a missile launch in the US. A junior operator convinced his superiors it was a mistake so they didn't retaliate but they were very close to launching a counter strike.
I remember this 😂 I was living on Oahu at the time. My wife and kids were off the island so I wasn't tripping. 15 mins went by and nothing happened, so I rolled back over in bed and went back to sleep 🤷🏾♂️
Yeah it was extremely humbling. My family genuinely thought we were all gonna die. We were driving to our siblings sports game when we got the news. My mouth and throat immediately went completely dry and my mind went right to images of hiroshima and it's giant mushroom clouds. We sped the car all the way to turtle bay resort because it was the nearest shelter. When we got there everyone was running around in a panic. We sat down on the couches/chairs and watched the ocean. Took about 40 minutes to find out it was false. Never in my life have I been that scared.
