- In this video, we take you through the set up from cold and dark of the newly release 'Expert Series' ATR 72-600 for MSFS. Lots of detail has gone into this aircraft which allows you to set up the aircraft realistically for a fully operational flight. This tutorial will guide you through a short flight from cold and dark to landing as we take a short trip in the Canaries. This video also looks at setting up your thrust levers and also provides a fully working simbrief profile for the aircraft which you can download below.

This is so helpful, you've saved time and frustration on setting up an unfamiliar aircraft. Thanks Nav.
As someone that mainly flies airbus I was able to jump right into this one as well ! its got that Airbus philosophy about the flight deck ergonomics that makes it so enjoyable !
Love it how you guys get these tutorials up online so fast! Have had a good go at flying this amazing bird, have done alright! But I definitely need your pointers haha.
Thanks for this Gav, you are a legend, didnt think about the dual setup with the propeller power on right throttle on the TCA and the Power setting on the other, that has made life so much easier with this aircraft, which is certainly no default aircraft!
Fantastic Gavin, thank you as ever for the guide and the SimBrief profile. Time to do some Aer Lingus and Logan Air ops... or perhaps some FlyBe Throwback Thursdays? Can't wait to see you fly this on a live stream.
Lower parking brake, you have a push bottom call HYD AUX, The function of this button is to give hydraulic pressure for a few seconds, you will see that it lights up in hotel mode, when it lights up you can activate hotel mode. Without hydraulic pressure, the propeller brake does not activate. If you need anything else, I am here. I have also flown all the variants of ATR and now an Airbus 330. Greetings and I really like your videos.
A fantastic video, Massive thanks! Watched the whole thing. A perfect watch, just before I dive in myself. 👍
Great video! As always. A quick note, I find putting the W/B in the fmc more effective and you can get exact! Keep up the great work!
Awesome video Gavin, Thanks for making it
Excellent intro vid, I've made lots of notes, so now for a go myself!
I was able to engage the terrain radar. Really nice. Haven't experimented with the weather radar in poor weather yet.
Just finished a full flight. I used to have major problems landing. The plane now felt really tamed. Smooth taxi and take off. I was able to use sel speed mode to control the climb. Vnav still kinda overshoot. The plane didnt go wild while landing. Loved it.
Thank you very much for the broadcast.
Thank you for showing us how to setup the TCA airbus throttle!!

Thanks very muchness.
thanks for the video , that hyd aux pump button has to be pressed to operate the prop brake, thats what I remember from the Flight1 atr in FS2004
If you put in fuel and payload inside the FMS, it sets correct numbers too
I really enjoyed this thanks! I tried following the MSFS tutorials that they uploaded but it goes quite quick sometimes and doesnt always explain the buttons - as I novice with less than 50hrs flying I really need the extra explanation. This was perfect! Thanks again
GG! ... still one of the best
