Chinese student here🙋♀️Thank you so much for these helpful videos! As a senior student I haven’t got any regular time to learn another language, but your courses give me that chance, now I catch every spare time to watch the videos and follow you reading. I hope once I can speak Russian as if it’s my mother tongue 🙏
@Alynn Yzy I'm Chinese too. I feel like it is easier to learn Russian if you know both English and Chinese. It seems that the Russian Alphabet (Cyrillic right?) have a lot in common with the Chinese ones. And a lot of the words seem to be sort of derivatives from English. I'm not sure. Am I right?
@@annemariewang6473 The last decades, yes. There are common words. They are understandable, in principle, in all European and Slavic languages. Earlier no. Taken from the Slavic. Officially English since the 15th century, before that they read in Latin. Russian 4 simplification reforms. I am so happy! I was dreading the topic of gender as I was expecting it would be a similar mess to french or german. I'm so glad it makes so much more sense in russian. These courses (so far) are turning out to be easier than I was expecting them to be (and more fun!). Russian sounded so complicated to me when I didn't understand any of it.
I started learning russian purely as a challenge to myself and was half expecting to give up before even mastering the alphabet. After these 4 courses my mindset has completely changed to "Wow, I'm pretty sure I can actually do this!" and my motivation could not be higher. You're a very talented teacher Daria! Thank you for helping me achieve this self-confidence in my abilities!
Oui oui, vous avez bien compris.

I am 56 and going to St Petersburgh next July, I have never learnt another language to my shame, but i am determined to learn at least enough to get me through a 2 day visit, I am really enjoying your lessons although quite difficult in parts. A very informative lesson that clearly explains the gender of nouns along with some new vocabulary. I would like to mention that I purchased your ebook on Amazon. What I have read so far is excellent. I noticed that you used "Добрый ночи" as a way to say both hello and goodbye at night, but I did not find "Спокойной ночи" listed in the book. Благодарю. (yes, I got this from your book!)
Thank you:) спокойной ночи is not a greeting actually, its just a phrase to say before going to bed

Hi Daria, this course is very clear and logically structured. Thank you for sharing it with the world. Especially handy now while quarantained!
This may be an old video but it's where I'm up to in the series. I started learning Russian at least four years ago (actually started learning bits and pieces for Cosplaying of all things) But been semi-seriously learning for maybe two. I'm currently at University studying history so haven't ever really been able to focus on my Russian learning consistently as I'd like to. Since the Covid 19 lockdown began in the UK I have been trying to work on my Russian learning as part of an attempt to keep my brain busy since I could be looking at a life based at home for as long as till next February (my Uni term has recently finished and they are considering our first term from sept. to dec. being totally online). I just wanted to say that I found these videos a few days ago and I have been going through a lesson each morning and then doing the practise from the blog. I have been amazed at how much more I am managing to get my head around things than I was learning from books and websites alone. You explain things very well and being able to understand things only makes me want to work on the language more and more. It is early days in terms of really getting to grips with the language but my dream of taking a basic Russian exam so I can add Russian speaking to my CV is seeming more likely than it was before. Thank you for your amazing lessons!
Вы интересния ,красивая и хорошая учитель ... спасибо большое

wow india also chai means tea ☕️ exact mass for meat, and other words also
both languages with so many similar words in punjabi also we say saalaad for 🥗 salad
In Iran too, chai means tea.
And no wonder, it's an Indo-European language, and we have a common base. Of course, over the past millennia, it has become different, but still a lot of words can be understood simply by the sound.
Same in Japanese, it's usually ocha, cha, or chai. Also brown is chairo, literally meaning tea colour
I love your lessons and your sense of humour which appears mildly self deprecating but confidence and authority underlies the lessons.
It's the first time i've learned another language and am able to take it in with relative ease. That is a first for me learning anything since high school.

Хрена себе! Как носитель русского я восхищён скоростью! Не зря ты целых 3 урока далдычила произношение! На четвёртом уроке уже можно строить совсем простые предложения и отвечать на совсем простенькие вопросы, а ещё всего лишь 18 уроков! И это при том, что русский язык гораздо сложнее английского, мы в школах за 8 лет целых по 2-3 урока в 45 минут в неделю будем владеть им лишь на В1, я верю здесь будет повыше!
