    • @JaronActual
      @JaronActual 5 лет назад +1

      @@jamesconley6919 I think it's a coin toss between those steels for general use. Both take and hold a nice edge, aren't too hard to sharpen, and resist elements well. I'm led to believe VG-10 is slightly more corrosion resistant while 154 can take slightly more physical abuse, but neither on a $50 EDC would be something to complain about.

    Here's my opinion on knife banter, I love most of the early videos that are about topics like budget, favorites of each brand, favorites under 3 inches/over 3 inches, favorites of a certain color, favorites of a certain blade steel, favorites of a certain handle type, favorites of a certain price range, stuff like that. But most of the videos you were making towards the end of season 1 were uninteresting and just stupid topics. We wanna hear about more than just 5 or 10 blades in each category, so if you make a second or third episode of the same category, we would absolutely love it.

    I had the Link 1776 in M390. You have to preorder it (it's never in stock) and wait months to get it. It came in the box so dull it couldn't cut paper or shave hair. The edge grind was uneven. I resharpened it and it took an hour. FINALLY got it mirror finish and hair popping sharp and 1 week at work light cutting, breaking down the occasional cardboard box and cutting tape, it went dull again. A simple strop wouldn't bring it back. I think they had a new guy sharpening it and burned the everloving crap out of the heat treat. I've tried of getting burned knives from Kershaw :( I had a burned edge problem with the Leek too.

    Got both the Iona and the M390 Link. Gotta say, the Iona sees a lot more pocket time than the Link...and the Link is my favorite Kershaw. The Iona is more office friendly. And where I live, there is a confusing maze of jurisdictions where 3" is considered too murdery. The Iona is at 2.9". Safe and less intimidating.
